Draft insider Tony Pauline is hearing that the Chiefs, Eagles, and Jets all "think highly" of Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib.

Pauline does not suggest Nassib with these teams' first selections, instead as a player they may trade back into the first-round for. He is working with "former NFL offensive coordinator Paul Hackett as well as Ken Anderson," in preparation for the Combine, where he expects to throw for evaluators.

Greg Gabriel spoke with one "NFL personnel man" who said UCLA sophomore QB Josh Rosen "better drop entitlement attitude if he wants to be as good as he thinks he is."

We hear NFL personnel people complain about a quarterback's attitude every single year. Why? Because there are hundreds of "NFL personnel" people, and each has an opinion. It is worth understanding that one opinion does not mean the entire NFL thinks that way. Plus, Rosen does not turn 20 years old until February. Rosen and Deshaun Watson are clearly the two most talented quarterbacks in college football at this time, with Watson eligible for the 2017 NFL Draft and Rosen eligible in 2018.

Penn State redshirt sophomore Trace McSorley has been named the school's starting QB.

"I know lot of people thought that decision was made in spring ball. It wasn't," head coach James Franklin said. McSorley stepped in for an injured Christian Hackenberg last season, and arguably outplayed the future second round pick (lol). In that bowl game against Georgia, McSorley completed 14 of 27 attempts for 142 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 31 yards. Penn State's offense was a train wreck the last two seasons, outside of Saquon Barkley. Penn State faithful are hoping coaching changes will turn that around.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart confirmed that junior RB Nick Chubb will play in the season opener against UNC.

He won't be the only running back to see touches, however. "I think everybody’s in line to get carries. Nick’s in line, Elijah’s (Holyfield) in line, Brian’s (Herrien) in line, Brendan Douglas is in line, Tae Crowder’s in line," Smart told the media. Georgia relied on their ball carriers every single season under Mark Richt, and that likely won;t be any different with Smart running the team. Chubb is the huge news here, coming off a major knee injury last season. Before that, he looked like one of the nation's most talented runners. Sony Michel still appears to be sidelined.

During a radio interview, LSU head coach Les Miles said "I'm not ready to say we're giving Leonard (Fournette) the ball less" this season.

The question was in regards to Fournette's carry total versus talented backup Derrius Guice, who only received 51 carries versus Fournette's 300. Guice would start for almost every other school in the nation, but Miles wants to ride Fournette. While 300 carries is a large number, the figure could have been much larger, as Fournette sat on the bench in some second halves due to LSU leading by a wide margin on the scoreboard. By comparison, Derrick Henry carried the ball 395 times for Alabama last season.

Stanford named redshirt junior QB Ryan Burns starter.

This is a stunning upset, as redshirt sophomore Keller Chryst was widely expected to become Kevin Hogan's heir. While Burns will be under center when the Cardinal take the field against Kansas State on Friday, Sept. 2, the school's director of athletic communications Alan George added in his announcement that "Keller Chryst to see action vs. Wildcats." Since both are pro-style passers, it's a bit confusing that David Shaw will use what is in his estimation the school's second-best pocket passer as a change-of-pace option. Perhaps the field time is a way to assuage Chryst's disappointment and keep him in Palo Alto.

New Mexico State junior QB Tyler Rogers was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor battery charge.

Rogers’ girlfriend is the alleged victim. A verbal spat at a party apparently turned physical, with police reporting that the woman "downplayed the incident and said that it wasn’t really anything and that the altercation did not get physical and didn’t consider Mr. Rogers grabbing her arm as being a physical altercation." It is unclear if the woman is cooperating with authorities. "We are letting the process run through," NMSU head football coach Doug Martin said. "Since it is a misdemeanor, there isn't a suspension coming forth right now."

West Virginia redshirt senior G Adam Pankey has been suspended for the season-opener against Missouri.

Pankey was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence a little over a week ago after police came upon his car upended on the side of the road. The 6-foot-5, 324-pounder suffered minor injuries in the solo crash, but nothing that required hospitalization. "We hold these guys to high expectations," said HC Dana Holgorsen, "and when you don’t meet that, there’s going to be consequences." Tony Matteo is expect to start at left guard in his place for the opener against Missouri. Holgorsen indicated that Pankey's status would be reevaluated following that game. He started 12 games in 2015.

Washington State senior S Shalom Luani was arrested and charged with second-degree felony assault early Wednesday morning.

Per the Pullman Police Department, Luani allegedly broke the nose of a patron at Dominos during an altercation on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was a key piece in Washington State's defense last season. He started all 13 games and recorded 90 tackles (3.0 for loss) while intercepting four passes. Potential punishment from HC Mike Leach and the Cougars has yet to be publicly announced.

Arizona State redshirt sophomore QB Manny Wilkins worked with the first-team offense during ASU's walk-through for the season-opener.

Wilkins hasn't officially been named the starter over highly-lauded recruit Brady White, but for all intents and purposes, HC Todd Graham has shown his hand. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Wilkins was a four-star recruit, himself, for the 2014 cycle. He brings a dual-threat aspect to the table that White (who is more of a pure passer) does not. Wilkins isn't taking his job for granted, though, saying, "The way we both look at it is, whoever goes out there and starts, the other guy is one play away."

LSU redshirt senior WR Travin Dural returned to practice on Tuesday after recovering from a hand injury.

The hand injury was minor, but Dural has had to overcome a lot this offseason. Most notably, Dural finished last season on the sideline due to a disconnected hamstring. That injury plus poor dietary choices resulted in a 30 pound weight gain. Dural is seemingly back in shape and should team with Malachi Dupre as one of the SEC's top duos.

LSU junior RB Leonard Fournette has shed his walking boot and is expected to practice on Thursday.

Fournette sustained the ankle injury in mid-August and has been held out since. "He was running today and yesterday. And next time we take the field, my guess is, he’ll be practicing," Les Miles said. Fournette should be on track to play in the season opener against Wisconsin on September 3, but even if he does not take on a full workload Derrius Guice might be the best backup in the nation.
