The NFL Network's Albert Breer was told by NFL execs and scouts to remove Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib from his first-round mock draft.

In fact, Breer doesn't have a single quarterback in his top-32. "The fact is that no one I communicated with this morning thought there was a quarterback worthy of going on Day 1," wrote Breer. "As one AFC exec said, 'There's a very good chance none go (in the first round). I don't know who the top one is -- total crapshoot. Geno (Smith)? (Matt) Barkley? (Mike) Glennon? (Landry) Jones? It's a toss-up.'"

Baylor sophomore QB Jarrett Stidham received his release from scholarship.

Stidham can transfer to any school outside of the Big 12. It is worth noting David Ubben of Sports on Earth suggested Stidham could enroll at McLennan Community College in Waco, where he would be eligible to play immediately. Stidham would also be eligible if he elected to drop down to the FCS level, with the likely goal of working back up to an FBS program. As a true freshman, Stidham passed for 1,265 yards and a 12/2 TD/INT ratio.

Baylor redshirt senior RB Shock Linwood needs two rushing touchdowns to be the school's all-time leader in that category.

Baylor's football history is not extensive, but it is still surprising that the school's all-time rushing touchdown leader is Alfred Anderson with 35, ending his career back in 1983. Linwood is just one away after only three seasons, and that record could be broken in week one against Northwestern State. Robert Griffin III is third on the list, with 33. Baylor has been very effective in recent years by continuing to spread defenses out with four or five receiver sets, and allowing running backs to eat in 5 versus 5 matchups in the box.

Florida junior WR Treon Harris will transfer.

Florida took to Twitter to confirm widespread reports of Harris' looming transfer. His time in the program was marred by mediocre play and off-field turbulence. On the field, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder struggled to spark any sort of a potent passing attack (50.3% career completions). And off the field, he was hit with an ongoing indefinite suspension this winter for reasons unknown. Harris transitioned over to wideout in the offseason while under that mysterious suspension. It is unknown at this juncture which programs he might be considering for a transfer. With QB Will Grier electing to join West Virginia's program in the spring, HC Jim McElwain is essentially starting with a fresh slate at the position this coming season, with redshirt junior QB Luke Del Rio probably holding the inside track to win the starting gig.

Minnesota redshirt senior QB Mitch Leidner said that his surgically-repaired foot has "never felt better."

In the winter, Leidner underwent surgery to repair four torn ligaments in his left foot. While he was limited in spring practice, all signs have been pointing toward a healthy summer. Looks like it played out to script. At B1G media days, the 6-foot-4, 237-pounder said that his foot has been feeling 100% healthy for approximately a month. Last season, Leidner threw for 2,701 yards (59.5% completions) with a 14/11 TD/INT ratio.

LSU received a verbal commitment from four-star 2017 CB Kary Vincent.

"It's family over there. I feel at home with the guys," Vincent said. "I think Coach Miles will be there a long time, despite what people say. I know LSU is a place that can develop me to be the best player on and off the field." Ohio State, Texas, Florida State and Texas A&M were also in the running for the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder's commitment. His father actually attended A&M, but that familial tie was not enough for the Aggies to rise to the top of the metaphorical mountain. LSU now holds commitments from three of ESPN 300's top 25 prospects. He sits at No. 22, with the outlet noting that Vincent is an "[e]xplosive, fast closing corner who shows playmaking qualities on the perimeter."

UNC four-star 2017 verbal RB commit Adarius Lemons flipped his commitment to Florida.

"Things change and I feel bad personally," Lemons said after visiting Florida on Friday, "but at the end of the day I am trying to find what is best for me and my family." One point on the Gators' side is that Lemons' family won't have to make extensive travel plans to watch the 6-foot, 195-pounder play -- something that wouldn't have been the case with the Tar Heels. Hailing from Clearwater, Florida, Lemons ranks as Rivals' No. 136 overall prospect (No. 9 running back) for the 2017 cycle.

ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports that Baylor interim HC Jim Grobe will make $1.25 million for the 2016 season.

Grobe's salary stands as the third-lowest in the Big 12, with Iowa State's Matt Campbell and Kansas' David Beaty the only coaches within the conference to make less coin. And that $1.25 million, of course, is considerably less than Art Briles was making at the time of his termination at the end of May. Briles had somewhere in the neighborhood of eight years, $40 million remaining on his 10-year contract at the time of his departure.

FSU junior RB Dalvin Cook needs 1,261 rushing yards to top Warrick Dunn's career rushing record of 3,959 yards while playing for the Seminoles.

The catch? If Cook achieves this goal, he will have the record in three seasons compared to Dunn's four seasons. As a true freshman, Cook rushed for just over 1,00 yards and added on to that with a stunning 2015, totaling 1,691 yards while dealing with multiple nagging injuries. You all know what we think of Cook, that he is firmly in the argument for the top running back name in college football. The combination of yards after contact and big plays is exactly what you want out of a running back.

As of now there is no timetable for Tennessee sophomore DL Shy Tuttle's return to the field after breaking his fibula last October.

"He’s progressing. He’s running. He’s been working out," head coach Butch Jones said. Jones added the impressive defensive lineman will be limited at the start of camp, and the team is hoping to know more in mid-August. Tuttle played as a reserve in six games, seeing the field for 34 percent of the school's snaps during that span. He starred as a run defender. Tennessee dealt with injuries along their defensive line all offseason.

Iowa State senior CB Nigel Tribune was arrested over the weekend on three charges, including Operating a Vehicle While Impaired.

Tribune was immediately suspended indefinitely. The senior is an important member of the team's defense, as he was on the field for 94 percent of the school's snaps in 2014 and 63 percent last season. Those numbers dropped towards the end of 2015. Who knows how long Tribune's suspension will last. He earned second team All-Big 12 honors in 2014.

Former Florida redshirt sophomore CB J.C. Jackson will enroll at Maryland on Tuesday.

Jackson is jumping up from the JUCO level and is eligible to play immediately. In fact, 247 Sports' Ryan Bartow already projects Jackson as a starter for the upcoming season. With three years of eligibility remaining, Jackson could emerge as one of Maryland's most talented players. He elected to transfer after facing an armed robbery charge. After all, former Florida defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin is Maryland's head coach.
