Michigan offensive coordinator said changes are coming to the Wolverines' offense in 2013 in the hopes of "staying up with the times."

"To a degree, we're transforming our offense," Borges said. "We're not completely changing our offense. You saw a closer version of it toward the end of the season... There's some things people are doing with mobile quarterbacks that we're going to keep, we're not going to get rid of. But to say we're going to be an 80% spread team like we were early last year, a lot of that's going to go by the wayside." The change makes sense due to Devin Gardner's ability as a thrower and runner.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl was "underwhelmed overall" by BYU senior WR Cody Hoffman.

Weidl did like Hoffman's ball skills but called him a one speed runner with limited separation ability. In fact, Weidl believes Hoffman is a "later day three" prospect. We appreciate the unique evaluation, since some are hyping Hoffman up as a possible first-round prospect.

Ole Miss was granted a release by the NCAA to watch QB Bo Wallace throw during the offseason after the junior underwent shoulder surgery.

What a stupid rule. Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Werner is now able to monitor Wallace's progress. "Coach Werner can be out there to watch me just so that my mechanics stay the same and I don’t re-injure myself, or something like that," Wallace said. "That’s been really helpful for us." The quarterback underwent surgery in January and expects to be cleared by the first week of July.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay believes Ole Miss junior Donte Moncrief is the top draft-eligible WR from the SEC.

"Moncrief isn't exceptional in any one area, but he has a very good skill set across the board," McShay writes. "He can separate from coverage, shows good ball skills and has big-play ability." The evaluator does admit that Alabama's Amari Cooper is likely the top target in the conference, but he is only a sophomore and not draft-eligible.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay believes Alabama junior DL Jeoffrey Pagan could break out in 2013.

McShay started to see more flashes from Pagan during the late stages of 2012 and notes the defensive lineman is stout versus the run but "also converts speed-to-power" as a pass rusher. Expect Pagan to start at defensive end in Alabama's three and four man fronts.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah believes Alabama senior LB C.J. Mosley is the complete package.

According to Jeremiah, Mosley has "excellent size, instincts, range and motor" and a "high football IQ." We were surprised Mosley did not enter the 2013 draft, since he likely would have been the first inside linebacker selected. College football "is full of LB's with (plus) speed/range but very few of them have the size/strength to take-on blocks," Jeremiah tweeted, adding Mosley has that ability. We firmly believe Mosley is one of the top prospects in the country.

Kate Hairopolous of the Dallas Morning News reports Texas A&M redshirt sophomore QB Johnny Manziel gave serious consideration to transferring after he was suspended for the 2012 season following an offseason arrest.

Obviously the suspension was later reduced following an appeal, and Manziel went on to claim the starting quarterback job over Jameill Showers. The latter is the one who ended up transferring. Manziel was arrested and charged with a few misdemeanors related to an incident outside of a bar following his redshirt season. The Aggie quarterback has had an eventful offseason.

CBS Sports' Jeremy Fowler talked to multiple NCAA coaches who fully expect former Houston senior RB Charles Sims to enter the Supplemental Draft.

Fowler likely spoke to coaches who have interest in Sims' services, since the running back would be eligible to play immediately in 2013. His departure from Houston was surprising, since he could have elected to enter April's NFL Draft. The Supplemental Draft will take place on July 11, if there are eligible players entering.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl says evaluators should familiarize themselves with Southern Miss senior DT Khyri Thornton.

Weidl tweeted Thornton has "impressive tape," specifically highlighting the defensive tackle's quickness, range, and explosive upper body. Thornton accounted for 36 tackles in 2012, 9.5 for loss including one sack.

Sophomore QB Wes Lunt revealed that Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy lifted transfer restrictions prior to Lunt choosing Illinois.

Gundy made news when he restricted Lunt from transferring to Big 12 and SEC schools, along with Southern Miss, the Pac-12 and Central Michigan. Apparently Gundy lifted those limitations, which included 37 schools and three of Lunt's initial top five, but the sophomore quarterback had already lost contact with the coaches of those schools.

South Carolina junior Jadeveon Clowney has been tagged with the highest grade ever given to a DL from NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah.

Jeremiah previously stated he would choose UCLA senior Anthony Barr over any edge rusher selected in the 2013 draft, but admitted Clowney "is on another planet." We are guessing Clowney earned a "rare" grade, and many other evaluators will give the same designation. Calvin Johnson, Ndamukong Suh, and Andrew Luck are three recent prospects to earn the same designation by some scouts.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah tweeted he would rather have UCLA senior OLB Anthony Barr over any edge rusher selected in the 2013 class.

This includes No. 3 pick Dion Jordan, No. 5 pick Ziggy Ansah, and No. 6 pick Barkevious Mingo. Barr is an outstanding athlete with excellent closing speed, which makes him very effective when looping inside. He is still learning some technical aspects of the pass rushing game, like hand use and length, but Barr's ceiling is incredibly high.
