SI's Peter King says his money is on Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib to emerge as this draft's third passer.

The comment came after quoting the NFL Network's Mike Mayock on evaluations of each of the quarterbacks. King projects the first two signal callers off the board to be Geno Smith and Matt Barkley. "Ran Nassib is another guy who coaches are going to like a lot," Mayock said. "He reminds me a little bit of Andy Dalton and Kirk Cousins with the way he approaches the game."

SMU redshirt junior Trey Quinn caught 17 passes for 186 yards in Saturday's 31-28 overtime win over Cincinnati.

Quinn has been flat-out brilliant this season, especially of late. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound redshirt junior has now logged at least 15 catches in each of his last three games. He's also surpassed 100 yards receiving in four of his last five games. Overall, Quinn is the owner of an immaculate 71-773-5 receiving line. Tulsa will attempt to slow him down next weekend.

Mississippi State redshirt junior Nick Fitzgerald went 18-of-26 passing for 155 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 115 yards and two more scores in a dominating 45-7 win over Kentucky on Saturday.

Fitzgerald (6'5/230) has rushed for over 100 yards three times this year. The frame and athleticism are outstanding. NFL evaluators will continue to ponder whether he can be developed in the pocket. Fitzgerald's passing stats remain ho-hum, with a 54.9-percent completion percentage and 6.32 YPA coming into today. His 11/7 TD/INT rate is fine, but nothing special. As Lance Zierlein wrote last month: "He's big and fast, but I'm still not sold on him as a passer, and there are other evaluators who are still in wait-and-see mode with me as it pertains to his draft stock."
Oct 21 - 7:27 PM

Michigan State junior RB LJ Scott rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Saturday's 17-9 win over Indiana.

Scott did not start the contest as punishment for his being arrested for driving on a suspended license for the seventh time on Wednesday. He has a valid license, now, and after he rode the pine at the beginning of the contest, he went on to take on his typical workload. His touchdown came on a patient 18-yard run to the right in the fourth quarter, one which gave Michigan State a 17-9 lead with under two minutes remaining. Scott has largely disappointed this season outside of a 194-yard performance against Minnesota last weekend, but will try to finish up strong as he heads toward a potential draft declaration this winter.
Oct 21 - 7:27 PM

UCF sophomore RB Adrian Killins rushed for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 15 carries in Saturday's 31-21 win over Navy.

Much of Killins' damage came courtesy of a 79-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter, a score that broke a 14-14 tie. A home run threat waiting to happen, Killins is averaging nine yards a carry. He's surpassed 100 yards in three of the last five games.
Oct 21 - 7:05 PM

Central Michigan senior WR Corey Willis caught five passes for 98 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's 56-9 win over Ball State.

Willis (5'10/175) missed four games with a broken hand before returning to action against Toledo last weekend. He caught just two passes for 12 yards in that one, but with the rust shaken off, the senior excelled versus Ball State on Saturday. His highlight catch came on a 63-yard touchdown grab midway through the third quarter to put the Chippewas up 35-9. Willis logged a 71-1087-9 receiving line last season and should be good for a strong finish to the campaign so long as he can stay healthy. Central Michigan will be off on bye next weekend, with their next game set to come against Western Michigan on Wednesday, November 1.
Oct 21 - 6:36 PM

Navy junior QB Zach Abey will miss the remainder of Saturday's game against UCF after sustaining a possible head injury.

Abey was taken to the locker room for evaluation after suffering the injury. While he later returned to the sideline, he did so out of pads. Garrett Lewis will finish out the contest for the Midshipmen. We'll have to wait and see as to the exact nature of Abey's injury concern.
Oct 21 - 5:56 PM

Syracuse senior WR Steve Ishmael left Saturday's game against Miami in the second quarter.

Ishmael was injured while trying to make a tricky catch down the sideline. He landed hard, was tended to on the field, and then helped by a trainer to the locker room. We should have more information about his status shortly.
Oct 21 - 5:05 PM

Pitt junior RB Darrin Hall rushed for 254 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in Saturday's 24-17 win over Duke.

Hall (5'11/215) put on a show with his first two touchdown gallops, scoring from 79 yards out midway through the first quarter and then topping himself via a 92-yard run to glory in the closing seconds of the third quarter. He would cap off his afternoon's work with a go-ahead four-yard touchdown run in the final stanza to give Pitt a 21-17 lead. This singular 254-yard performance was by far the best of Hall's career -- he had rushed for 525 yards total in his three previous seasons.
Oct 21 - 5:00 PM

Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Missouri sophomore RB Damarea Crockett underwent shoulder surgery on Friday.

That clears things up. Crockett was withheld from Saturday's game against Idaho, with rumors flying around that he was facing an extended absence. HC Barry Odom confirmed as much after the game. With only five games left in this lost season, it wouldn't be a surprise if the 2-5 Tigers simply shut Crockett down.
Oct 21 - 4:57 PM

Oklahoma State sophomore RB Justice Hill rushed for 117 yards on 33 carries in Saturday's 13-10 overtime win over Texas.

In a game largely dominated by the two defenses, Hill stood out as one of few shining lights on offense. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder has been incredibly consistent this season and has now racked up four consecutive games with 100 yards rushing. He's gone off for an even 750 yards on the ground through seven games played.
Oct 21 - 4:54 PM

Missouri junior QB Drew Lock completed 23-of-33 passes for 467 yards, six touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 68-21 win over Idaho.

Lock does as he tends to do against inferior competition and absolutely shredded the Vandals' potatoes in this one. Four of his six touchdown passes came in the first quarter as the Tigers raced out to a 34-7 advantage. This was Lock's fourth game of at least three touchdown passes and his second of at least 400 yards passing. While he remains an imperfect quarterback, he is capable of supernova numbers during any given week depending on the opponent. He should be able to rip it against UConn next Saturday.
