NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah tweeted that a Jaguars and Ryan Nassib connection has been among the most common QB landing spots he's heard from NFL sources.

Jeremiah also recently tweeted that he keeps hearing about the Jaguars interest in Geno Smith. Nassib has mainly been linked to the Bills, but the Jags would be an interesting fit. At the least, it is a new way of thinking about possible fits for this quarterback class.

Miami QB Brad Kaaya has been dealing with a turf toe injury in his right foot since Oct. 20, according to beat writer Matt Porter.

Kaaya says he is close to full health, but he still has not complete a full workout for teams in terms of running and agility times. The injury obviously limited Kaaya's mobility for much of the season, a season that was overly disappointing in comparison to previous years. We think Kaaya will be selected in rounds two through four.

Draft insider Tony Pauline says the Bengals are "seriously considering" Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon at the top of round two.

Josh Norris recently mocked Mixon to this exact spot at pick No. 41. Mixon already visited the Bengals, and the team has been known to take more risks in free agency and the draft in comparison to their counterparts. Why? Likely due to the overlap between the coaching staff and the scouting staff, along with the team's owner being involved in the process.

Texas Tech QB Pat Mahomes leads drafts prospects with 18 total visit and private workouts, according to Aaron Wilson.

We struggle to find 18 teams who have an immediate quarterback need, or clubs who might be looking for a future signal caller in two or three years. Mahomes is a unique quarterback prospect in this draft. There's a valid argument stating Mahomes does not have a clear comparison of success in the NFL, but many times unique prospects create their own mold.

The Jets private workout with Mitch Trubisky on UNC's campus takes place on Thursday.

Trubisky and the Jets have been linked for months, so the selection at No. 6 would not be a surprise. However, the Jets might be the most tight-lipped organization in the NFL and selected a quarterback in the second round who never even touched the field. The Jets roster is currently worse than it was to start the 2016 season.

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco passes along word from the NFL meetings that the first round buzz around Cal QB Davis Webb is picking up.

We've seen the link for a few weeks now, but the momentum does not seem to be slowing down. The initial question was if the league love was coming from one team or multiple, and it seems like the latter is true. Or, perhaps, this is just another example of a "late riser" receiving undeserved hype. Webb transferred to Cal after losing the starting job at Texas Tech. He attended the Senior Bowl and looked closer to average than a first rounder.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah reports that "every GM/scout" he has spoken with regarding Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon sees him being drafted in the second round.

After months of uncertainty regarding Mixon's draft position -- there were reports over the winter that he could go undrafted due to his well-documented outburst of violence against a woman in the summer of 2014 -- Day 2 is looking more and more likely. And perhaps early on Day 2, at that. Not everybody is interested, though. Among the teams that have reportedly already ruled themselves out of the running for the former Sooner, the Patriots and Dolphins. As for the parties who do not appear to be checking out, the Saints, Chargers, Raiders and Broncos have all either previously met with Mixon or plan on doing so in the near future.

Alabama HC Nick Saban said that he does not feel an imperative to push redshirt junior RB Bo Scarbrough (leg) into spring scrimmage.

"Our goal for Bo is by the end of spring, he's fully confident that he can do everything he needs to do. Whether he ever scrimmages is really not something that we're not that concerned about," Saban said. Scarbrough is rehabbing from the broken right leg he sustained against Clemson in January's National Championship Game. The 6-foot-2, 228-pounder rushed for 812 yards and 11 touchdowns over the course of 13 games played during the 2016 campaign.

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein spoke with one NFL RB coach who believes there is "no doubt" FSU's Dalvin Cook is the best prospect at his position in the draft.

The position coach believes Joe Mixon is second. It just shows how split evaluators will be on this running back class, as Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Cook and Mixon have all been mentioned at the top spot. Cook dominated for three years, carrying FSU's offense for two of them, but has limited athleticism and produced an athletic profile that has not been selected in the first round in over 10 years.

The Saints will bring in Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon for a visit, according to head coach Sean Payton.

The Saints will likely add a running back in the draft, the question is how early. Mixon will likely be selected in the second or third round, and the Saints are also in possession of the No. 32 overall pick after trading Brandin Cooks. Again, expect Mixon to visit a number of teams so those clubs can "get to know him," as he was not available for NFL Combine interviews.

Patriots beat writer Jeff Howe cites sources saying the team "will not even consider drafting Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon."

"While I believe in second chances and giving players an opportunity for redemption, I also believe that playing in the NFL is a privilege, not a right," owner Bob Craft said at the owner's meetings. This is not a new stance for the Patriots and players with a history of abusing women. Also, the Patriots roster is in a place where they do not have to make exceptions or take risks in order to win. We believe Mixon will be drafted in the second round.
Mar 29 - 10:01 AM

Cleveland Browns HC Hue Jackson said that the team would not trade the No. 1 overall pick to acquire a quarterback.

Any rumor of the Browns potentially going insane and just giving the Patriots the No. 1 pick in exchange for Jimmy Garoppolo would now appear to be officially dead. Jackson's refusal to even put that No. 1 on the table only serves to add further smoke to the fire of what has long been held as consensus -- that Cleveland will be drafting Texas A&M EDGE Myles Garrett with their first pick. They have more than enough draft picks stocked up to select a quarterback later in the draft should they so choose, including the No 12 pick.
