Western Kentucky DE Quanterus Smith visited the Philadelphia Eagles and will visit the New York Giants next, according to NFL.com's Gil Brandt.

Smith is 6-foot-5, 250 pounds and is recovering from a knee injury (torn ACL) that ended his final season prematurely. He is one of the sleeper pass-rushers in this year's draft, as he shows the ability to get around the edge because of his long strides and closing speed. ESPN's Todd McShay recently said Smith was a "name to remember" and a potential "Day 3 steal".

Georgia junior RB Todd Gurley rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries in the school's 45-21 win over Clemson.

Gurley added a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The bruising running back frequently had big alleys to run through, but he took advantage of them thanks to great vision, patience and speed. His lateral jump cuts are explosive and Gurley absolutely has the strength to be first contact. Do not be surprised if Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranks Gurley as a top 10 prospect overall.
Aug 30 - 9:18 PM

Alabama junior RB T.J. Yeldon rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in the school's 33-23 win over West Virginia.

Yeldon's most impressive run saw him break the line and accelerate through the second level and glide over the goal line. He seems to have a different gear in the redzone. Gurley looked a bit tentative at times last year to go along with ball security issues, but his talent is outstanding.
Aug 30 - 7:26 PM

Notre Dame redshirt junior QB Everett Golson completed 14 of 22 attempts for 295 yards and two touchdowns in the school's 48-17 win over Rice.

Golson added three more touchdowns on the ground to go along with 41 yards. Golson displayed improved passing awareness, and even threw with the laces. At was an impressive return for Golson, who missed last season due to academic issues. Notre Dame has a good amount of talent on both sides of the ball.
Aug 30 - 7:16 PM

Illinois redshirt sophomore QB Wes Lunt completed 24 of 38 attempts for 284 yards and four touchdowns in the school's 28-17 win over Youngstown State

Lunt, a Oklahoma State transfer, was forced to sit out last season during his first year with the Illini. The wait paid off. We have not seen a single snap of this game, but the box score was impressive.
Aug 30 - 6:37 PM

Indiana junior RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 247 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in the school's 28-10 win over Indiana State.

It is uncommon for a running back to go untouched for a 73 yard touchdown run up the middle, but Coleman posted such a play today as he displayed patience to follow blocks and acceleration to out run the defense. We keep talking about the 2015 running back class, and this is just another reason why.
Aug 30 - 6:06 PM

Pittsburgh sophomore WR Tyler Boyd suffered a dislocated finger on his left hand against Delaware and did not return.

Before he left, Boyd recorded three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown. The receiver is one of the nation's best and will receive plenty of buzz this year and during the offseason.
Aug 30 - 5:20 PM

Michigan junior WR Devin Funchess caught seven passes for 95 yards and three touchdowns in the school's 52-14 win over App State.

Funchess in bunches. The massive tight end to receiver convert is a complete mismatch. Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranked Funchess as the No. 3 receiver of the 12 he watched during the preseason, comparing his game to Kelvin Benjamin. Funchess might not be as good at the catch point just yet (he did have a nice grab in this game), but the Wolverine is likely better in the short game than KB.
Aug 30 - 3:42 PM

UCLA redshirt junior QB Brett Hundley completed 20 of 33 attempts for 242 yards in the school's 28-20 win over Virginia.

UCLA's defense scored three touchdowns and the quarterback added a score on the groun. Hundley showed some major issues in this game, all of which were on display last year. Yes, UCLA's offensive line looked terrible, but whether it was up to Hundley or not the Bruins did not change many reads at the line of scrimmage. Hundley dropped his eyes versus the rush in the hopes of finding workable space. There were definitely some positive throws, namely the one to clinch the game. When Hundley does the right thing, he looks almost perfect, but that does not happen often enough.
Aug 30 - 3:30 PM

Penn State sophomore QB Christian Hackenberg completed 32 of 47 attempts for 454 yards in the school's 26-24 win over UCF.

Hackenberg made some great throws, specifically a few when evading pressure, but there were also multiple occasions when he forced passes into multiple defenders or threw behind his receiver. We don't see the point of anointing Hackenberg as the next great QB prospect until after the season. Instead, let's see how he develops this season. To his credit, Hackenberg did everything right in the school's game winning field goal drive.
Aug 30 - 12:21 PM

UCF sophomore RB Williams Stanback did not suit up for the season opener against Penn State.

Beat writer Bob Flounders no explanation as to why. Many expected Stanback to take over top running back duties with Storm Johnson, and he still might once he returns. The sophomore rushed for 443 yards and six touchdowns on 105 attempts in 2013.
Aug 30 - 11:10 AM

Arizona redshirt senior WR Austin Hill caught three passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in the school's 58-13 win over UNLV.

A majority of Hill's production came on a 92 yard touchdown catch an run, when the redshirt senior took a 12 yard post, broke one tackle, then separated from the defense. Hill suffered a torn ACL in the spring of 2013, but many evaluators are expecting a big season from the 6'3/210 lbs receiver.
