Vikings selected Florida DT Sharrif Floyd with the No. 23 overall pick.

Commonly mocked to the Raiders at No. 3 overall, Floyd suffered the biggest free fall of the night. A 6-foot-3, 297 classic three-technique interior rusher, Floyd finished his three-year Gators career with 26 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three field goal blocks, and one forced fumble across 26 starts. Floyd ran 4.92 at the Combine with a 1.68 ten-yard split and 30-inch vertical. Deemed "without question" this draft's No. 1 player on tape by NFL Films guru Greg Cosell, Floyd is an up-field penetrator in the mold of Warren Sapp. He'll be a threat for 6-8 sacks as a rookie while serving as 32-year-old Kevin Williams' eventual successor.

Akron is still not recognizing dismissed Oklahoma State junior WR/RB Tyreek Hill on their roster.

Hill was dismissed back in dismissed following domestic abuse charges, and an anonymous SEC coach ripped the former Cowboy for his "repulsive" twitter account during the football player's recruitment. Hill reportedly transferred to Akron, but the change in school might not have happened after all. "Tried to get Akron to confirm he was joining the team a couple times since he announced. Nada," ESPN writer David Ubben tweeted.

Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin called sophomore DE Myles Garrett a blend of Adrian Peterson, Jean-Claude Van Damme and a cat.

Incredible. Let's break this down. Sumlin says Garrett has Peterson's explosion, Van Damme's flexibility and strength and a cat's body contortion. "We call him Batman," says Sumlin, "because his body looks like the costume." Garrett was one of the top SEC defenders last season in just his first year in college football. Expect the Texas A&M defense to take a step forward this season.

USF redshirt sophomore QB Asiantii Woulard is applying for a waiver to earn immediate eligibility after transferring from UCLA.

Would spent two seasons at UCLA but never saw game action. The former four-star recruit is already attending summer classes and is from the Florida area, so the reason for the waiver is transferring closer to home for family reasons. If no waiver is granted, Woulard will practice with the team all season and be eligible to play next year.

Michigan State junior RB Delton Williams will officially rejoin the football team in mid-August.

He will be a non-scholarship athlete. Williams was suspended last spring after brandishing a firearm in public and pleaded guilty to a reduced charge. The school opens practice on August 8, and Williams return August 14. He was the school's third leading rusher last year, but the Spartans are still looking to replace Jeremy Langford.

Miami sophomore RB Joe Yearby has returned to the school and team activities.

Yearby was not technically suspended but missed voluntary team activities. The Miami staff did not expect him back until camp opened, which begins August 6. Yearby did miss the spring game, so we don't know where he currently sits on the depth chart. Miami is looking to fill Duke Johnson's shoes.

An NFC scout said his team has two grades on Ohio State graduate Braxton Miller, with the "athlete" grade "much… better."

"We currently have two grades on him, one as an 'athlete' and one as a quarterback," the scout said. "The grade of him as an athlete is much…better. Because that's when he's at his best – with the ball in his hands." Regarding Miller's position switch, the scout added: "It's a smart, unselfish move that I bet will pay off for him. Also makes my job easier." The 6-foot-1 3/8, 210-pound Miller has never caught a pass in his college career, but that's about to change.

247Sports reports that South Carolina HC Steve Spurrier told 2017 four-star quarterback recruit Jake Fromm he would "stay at South Carolina six more years" if Fromm committed to the Gamecocks.

Very interesting timing on this news, as Spurrier told reporters last week that "a few recruits chose to believe" reports that his career was on its "descent." The 70-year-old Spurrier boasts a 226-85-2 career record.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah believes OSU redshirt junior Cardale Jones is the most talented QB in the 2016 class.

"I studied the top NFL QB prospects over the last month... Cardale Jones has the most talent. Will be interesting to see what Urban decides," Jeremiah tweeted. Jones played in just over three games last season as J.T. Barrett led the team for much of the year. Cardale seems to be in the pole position for the starting job, but Urban Meyer has not made that statement yet. We are excited to have more 3.5 games to evaluate Jones' game.

Texas HC Charlie Strong has already stated he will use two quarterbacks in the season opener against Notre Dame.

Those two quarterbacks are redshirt freshman Jerrod Heard and presumed starting junior Tyrone Swoopes. The latter was not impressive in his time as the starter in 2014. We think the old saying applies: If you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one.

Braxton Miller's father says his son still considers himself a QB first and a move to a hybrid receiver position is a backup plan.

Head coach Urban Meyer calls his slot/move receiver an H-back, and this is the position Miller told SI's Pete Thamel he is switching to. Miller's father says Braxton still wants to play quarterback, but "doesn’t feel that he’s ready for quarterback because of the shoulder." Meyer said Thursday night a decision has not been made. We think it has, and expect Miller to predominantly line up at a position other than quarterback in 2015.
Jul 24 - 9:00 AM

Ohio State graduate Braxton Miller told SI's Pete Thamel he is moving to H-back for the 2015 season.

The H-back is described as a hybrid receiver position. Another way to explain it: think of Aaron Hernandez's role in Urban Meyer's offense. Miller adds he will also focus on punt return, with 20% of his practice time spent at quarterback. Many other reporters have passed along buzz since the news broke, including Braxton's shoulder might not have healed to his liking, speeding up the position switch process. Expect to see Miller lined up all around Ohio State's formation.
