Former Notre Dame redshirt sophomore QB Everett Golson said he will return to the Irish this spring.

"I will be returning in the spring, that's pretty much it," Golson told television station WPDE. "I've been working out, keeping my head up. I've had a little adversity but I've learned you can't sit down and just take that, you got to pick yourself back up and keep going forward and continue doing what you were doing and everything is going to work itself out in the end." Golson was suspended for the 2013 season due to poor academic judgment.

Eastern Michigan signed HC Chris Creighton to an extension running through 2022.

Creighton receives his just rewards for bringing the Eagles to their first bowl game since 1987 last year. After inheriting a followed-out program, Creighton went 3-21 in his first two years before engineering the drastic turnaround. Creighton’s new deal increases his 2016 base salary of $434,840 by 2.5 percent.

Oklahoma junior S Will Sunderland turned himself in on Tuesday for a felony second-degree burglary charge.

He was released after posting a bond of $5,000. Sunderland is alleged to have stolen a PlayStation 4, controllers and games from a dorm room housing Sooner baseball players, and then selling them to an Oklahoma City business. He previously turned himself in on a misdemeanor charge for possession of stolen property. Sunderland remains suspended from the Sooners until his legal status clears up.

Michigan junior WR Grant Perry pleaded guilty to a felony but avoided a conviction on sexual assault charges.

He pleaded guilty to one count of resisting a police officer -- a felony which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison -- and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop two counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and a pending alcohol charge. The counts stem from a December incident in which Perry was accused of inappropriately touching a woman while waiting in line at an East Lansing bar. Perry posted a 13-183-1 line in 2016.

Oklahoma received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 QB Spencer Rattler.

Rattler (6'0/165) ranks as 247Sports' No. 2 pro-style quarterback for the 2019 cycle. Outlet analyst Steve Wiltfong offers up a nice scouting report on the Phoenix native, noting that he "moves extremely well and is accurate with the football while running to his right or left" and "has a knack for extending plays and is always looking downfield for an open receiver." Rattler is the second commitment HC Lincoln Riley has landed in the 2019 class, joining four-star TE Austin Stogner. The Sooners have had no issues landing pledges since Riley took over for the retiring Bob Stoops earlier this month.

Alabama senior CB Tony Brown failed to qualify for the U.S. national team in the 100-meter dash.

On Thursday at the United States Track & Field Outdoor Championships, Brown was disqualified due to a false start. Crimson Tide football fans probably aren't too sorry to see this. Making the national team would have required participating in the IAAF World Championships, which would have conflicted with Alabama's report date for fall camp on Aug. 2. The 6-foot, 196-pound Brown is a two-time track All-American. Brown is expected to be the Crimson Tide's starting nickelback this season.

NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah compares Washington State redshirt senior QB Luke Falk to Kirk Cousins.

Interestingly, Jeremiah believes Falk would've been selected in Round 1 or 2 had he entered the 2017 NFL Draft. "Although he plays in an Air Raid offense, he does read the entire field," Jeremiah wrote. "He has a very quiet lower body (calm, firm base) and a smooth release. He has tremendous touch at all three levels." As for areas to improve upon, the analyst noted that Falk is skinny, doesn't have a huge arm and is only a "functional" athlete. "If Falk can add a little strength, I think he's going to be a long-term starter at the next level," Jeremiah concluded. Falk has posted back-to-back 4,000-yard seasons with a 76/17 TD/INT ratio over that time.

NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah likens LSU junior RB Derrius Guice to a young Frank Gore.

More flattering still, Jeremiah sees a "little bit" of LaDainian Tomlinson in Guice's running style. "He is very decisive and reaches top speed in a hurry," Jeremiah wrote of Guice. "He has the wiggle to make defenders miss in tight quarters and he has incredible contact balance, which allows him to consistently bounce off of tacklers. He has homerun speed once he gets into the open field." The analyst would like to see Guice used more as a receiver -- he may get his wish now that Matt Canada is calling plays -- and also to see improvement from Guice as a pass blocker. Last year, the 5-foot-11, 216-pound Guice had 1,387 yards (7.6 ypa) and 15 touchdowns along with a 9-106-1 line as a receiver (11.8 ypc) and a 20.3 yard average on kick returns.

Top 2018 RB recruit Zamir White announced his commitment to Georgia.

It is about time Georgia received a commitment from a top running back recruit. The school's history with running backs is deep, and recent recruits will remember Knowshon Moreno, Todd Gurley, Keith Marshall, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. The latter two will spend their final season with the Bulldogs this year, so White could see immediate work with the team in 2018. He is widely considered the top recruit at his position and a five star athlete.

Texas sophomore QB Shane Buechele won the throwing contest at the Manning Passing Academy.

Buechele is not guaranteed to start this season, although he is the favorite to reclaim his No. 1 gig from last year. His style fits Tom Herman's offense quite well, as the goal is to get the ball out quickly, many times on vertical shots, with tempo. Freshman Sam Ehringer is his main competition.

Baylor has proposed to release information on every incident of sexual assault which has occurred at the school since 2003.

"Baylor has made a proposal to the court regarding contested issues in pending litigation. The court has not yet ruled on this proposal. This information has yet to be compiled and is separate from the investigation conducted by Pepper Hamilton," the university said in a statement on Monday. This proposed release is related to a Title IV lawsuit by 10 former students who are alleging they were sexually assaulted while enrolled. That is just one of six Title IV lawsuits Baylor is currently wading its way through.

Auburn received a verbal commitment from three-star 2018 WR Shedrick Jackson.

Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Memphis and Missouri were also in play, here. Jackson (6'1/195) has one major claim to fame -- he is the nephew of all-universe athlete, Bo Jackson, who himself played at Auburn. "Obviously it’s going to get a lot of attention. But really what you’ve got to do is go out there and make a name for yourself," explained the newest baby Tiger to SEC Country earlier in the spring. "It’s not Bo Jackson going out there anymore. It’s not him scoring touchdowns or running 40-yard dashes." He also raised the bar on himself, saying, "There are tons of expectations, but really I just want to go out there and be better than he was." Good luck with that, Mr. Jackson. We will be starting up our old Tecmo Bowl games in anticipation.
