Louisville coach Charlie Strong said Monday that the team will have a zero-tolerance policy towards junior RB Michael Dyer.

According to Strong, Dyer will sign a behavioral contract. The coach is smartly taking no chances with Dyer, who has a history of malfeasance. Interestingly, Strong consulted with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn before accepting Dyer. Malzahn, who coached Dyer both as Auburn's offensive coordinator and Arkansas State's head coach, recommended Dyer to Strong. Dyer left Auburn after two 1,000-yard rushing seasons after he ran into numerous off-field problems. He transferred to ASU after the 2011 season and was dismissed by the Malzahn-led staff, eventually spending 2012 at Arkansas Baptist College. Draftniks and college fantasy football players alike will want to closely monitor Dyer's situation this month. He has NFL-caliber skills.

Utah redshirt senior WR Darren Carrington compared sophomore QB Tyler Huntley to former Oregon QB Marcus Mariota.

"He’s not up there yet, but he reminds me of Marcus a lot, how he can throw off the run and throw off his back foot 70 yards and make people miss. He’s just a ballplayer," said Carrington, who played with Mariota back in 2014, during the quarterback's Heisman Trophy-winning season. In three games this season, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Huntley has thrown for 868 yards (72.1% completions, 7.8 YPA) with a 5/2 TD/INT ratio. The sophomore gunslinger has also rushed for 212 yards and three additional scores. To give some context, those three contests came against North Dakota, BYU and San Jose State. He should have a relatively easy time with Arizona on Friday, too, before the schedule tightens up with back-to-back contests against Stanford and USC.

Oklahoma president David Boren will retire at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year.

Boren has been among the most vocal school presidents on the college football landscape. He will be officially retiring on June 30, assuming that Oklahoma has settled on a new president by then (if not, he will stay on until they find a replacement). Boren has served as school president since 1994.

Boise State junior QB Brett Rypien (head) is probable for Friday's game against Virginia.

Rypien was injured in a Week 2 loss to Washington State and subsequently sat out a Week 3 win over New Mexico last Thursday. With a clean practice week to date, he has now been medically cleared to tango with the Cavaliers on Friday. Both Rypien and Montell Cozart are expected to play against Virginia, but Rypien will be the man taking the bulk of snaps.

Louisville senior RB Jeremy Smith (toe) will pursue a medical redshirt to return for a fifth year.

This according to his father, Craig Williams. Smith (6'2/224) suffered a fractured toe during practice and was limited in the opener against Purdue. Louisville decided to shut him down after the game. Since he only played part of one game, he has a good case for the medical hardship waiver. The Cardinals will lose RBs Reggie Bonnafon and Malik Williams to graduation after this season.

Texas sophomore QB Shane Buechele (shoulder) took 60-percent of the snaps with the first team on Tuesday.

Freshman Sam Ehlinger took the rest. Speaking about his tenuous quarterback situation, HC Tom Herman said: "No Wally Pipp for the moment." In other words, as he's said before, Herman doesn't anticipate Buechele losing his job due to an injury. Buechele has missed the last two games with a bruised throwing shoulder suffered in the opening-game loss to Maryland. The Horns are on a much-needed bye this week, giving Buechele more time to heal.

LSU HC Ed Orgeron deems junior RB Derrius Guice (knee) "very questionable" for Saturday's game against Syracuse.

This is a swift rhetorical change of direction for Coach O after he labeled it a "minor injury" on Monday. Guice hurt his left knee in Saturday's devastating loss at Mississippi State. He's yet to practice this week. "I don’t know if Derrius is going to play," Orgeron said. "He didn’t dress out yesterday in pads. He’s very questionable right now." Darrel Williams (28-159-4) is next in line if Guice is ruled out.

Michigan redshirt sophomore WR/CB Drake Harris is planning on joining Michigan's basketball team for the upcoming season.

The 6-foot-4, 188-pounder was a consensus top-100 basketball recruit in high school before he decided to focus solely on the gridiron. He would have two seasons of eligibility remaining for the basketball team. It seems that Harris wouldn't count towards the hoops teams' scholarship allotment this year; for clerical reasons, he'd still count against football.

Penn State junior RB Saquon Barkley was compared to David Johnson, Corey Dillon and Ezekiel Elliott by NFL executives.

"Both of these guys are such complete, 3-down backs. Barkley's lower-body strength and explosiveness are pretty tough to match, though," the executive who drew the David Johnson comparison said. Johnson is such a unique player thanks to his legitimate receiving ability, and Barkley is showing a similar talent thanks to 59 receptions in three seasons plus outstanding skills in open space. Barkley might top some evaluators' prospect rankings this spring.

Ball State senior DE Anthony Winbush leads the FBS in sacks with 6.5.

Winbush has six individual and one assisted sack. Winbush is on a torrid pace, especially compared to his previous two seasons. In 2015 Winbush led the team with five sacks, and followed it up with another team leading season in 2016 with 8.5 sacks.

Miami sophomore WR Ahmmon Richards (hamstring) is questionable for Saturday's game against Toledo.

Richards initially injured his hamstring at the end of August camp and subsequently sat out the team's season-opening win over Bethune-Cookman. While Miami has not played since September 2 due to a Hurricane Irma-fueled cancellation and a scheduled bye week, Richards has still not healed up fully. Should he be unable to play on Saturday, Lawrence Cager would draw a second start at X-receiver. We'll continue to monitor his progress over the remainder of the practice week.

Oklahoma approved HC Lincoln Riley's five-year contract.

Riley will be paid a base salary of $3.1 million annually, with that number to see $200,000 bumps each year. The contract comes with plenty of goodies in the form incentives, too, including $125,000 if the Sooners win a game in the CFB Playoff and $250,000 if Oklahoma wins the title. Less standard incentives include 25 hours of private airplane privileges and membership to two private golf clubs.
