Two Alabama players topped Scouts Inc.'s list of the best true sophomores in the country, WR Amari Cooper and RB T.J. Yeldon.

Cooper is number one, with Yeldon just behind him. It is "Cooper's route running that sets him apart on tape; he shows savvy beyond his years in this department, a big reason why he already is one of the premier receivers in the country," Steve Muench and Kevin Weidl wrote. The two evaluators add Yeldon could improve his ball security. Both will be pivotal pieces in the Crimson Tide's season.

NFL Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes that Wyoming redshirt junior QB Josh Allen's draft stock is declining.

"The bottom line is Allen was not good against Iowa and was atrocious against Oregon," Pauline said. "There’s plenty of season left and no reason to stamp final grades on any player at this point but this much is certain- Allen must quickly turn it around." For the season, the 6-foot-5, 233-pound quarterback has completed 56.3 percent of his passes with a 3-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He'll look to rebuild that stock starting on Saturday when the Cowboys travel to Hawaii.

Georgia sophomore QB Jacob Eason (knee) was able to practice in portions on Monday.

Eason missed the last two games with the knee injury he suffered in the opener against Appalachian State. There's still no timetable for his return, and if he's unable to go, freshman Jacob Fromme will get his third straight start against Mississippi State.
Sep 18 - 8:03 PM

LSU coach Ed Orgeron is hopeful that sophomore DT Rashard Lawrence (undisclosed) will return on Saturday versus Syracuse.

Lawrence has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury. He has been seen wearing a walking boot. Since he was able to return to practice last week, we'd expect to see him this weekend against the Orange.
Sep 18 - 5:13 PM

LSU HC Ed Orgeron withheld junior RB Derrius Guice from Monday's practice due to a "minor injury."

Per Coach O, Guice didn't practice on Monday to "protect him. Think he's going to be fine." Guice himself said he got a "little nicked" against Mississippi State. Guice received treatment on Sunday. The Tigers host Syracuse on Saturday. We expect Guise to be good to go by then.
Sep 18 - 4:43 PM

Tennessee HC Butch Jones confirmed that junior WR Jauan Jennings (wrist) is out for the season.

As expected. Jones previously stated that Jones was out indefinitely, but with a 12-week minimum recovery timeline, it never seemed realistic for Jennings to return. Since he was hurt in the opener, and since he hasn't yet used a redshirt, Jennings can salvage this year of eligibility via a medical redshirt.
Sep 18 - 3:20 PM

Kent State redshirt senior Nick Holley (knee) will undergo an MRI on Monday.

Holley left Saturday's game against Marshall in the first quarter with a knee injury. He has a history of knee injuries, injuring the other one late last season and missing the 2016 finale. That injury required offseason surgery. George Bollas would be in line to start if Holley misses time.
Sep 18 - 3:03 PM

LSU HC Ed Orgeron wants to find playing time for LSU freshman QB Myles Brennan "in the next couple of games."

"We're going to give Myles more reps," Orgeron said on Monday. "See if he can play in the next couple of games." Tigers starting QB Danny Etling went 13-of-29 for 137 yards in Saturday's embarrassing 30-point loss to Mississippi State. Brennan, a top-125 overall recruit in this past cycle, is viewed as the quarterback of the future. If Etling's struggles continue -- which would be no great surprise -- LSU may turn the offense over to Brennan earlier than expected.
Sep 18 - 2:37 PM

Washington State redshirt senior ILB Peyton Pelluer (foot fracture) will miss the remainder of the season.

Pelluer (6'0/235) is set to undergo surgery over the next few weeks to repair the foot fracture he sustained in the first half of Saturday's win over Oregon State. With a recovery timeline of 5-6 months, Pelluer’s season is over. Since he's already used a redshirt, his collegiate career is likely over as well. Pelluer had made 34 consecutive starts for the Cougars. Washington State will turn over middle linebacking duties to Nate DeRider.
Sep 18 - 1:23 PM

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh announced that freshman WR Tarik Black needs surgery to repair a broken foot.

Harbaugh didn't know whether Black will be able to return this season. Since he's played in only three games, Black is eligible for a medical redshirt year. We'd assume the Wolverines will choose that route. Black led the team with 11 catches for 149 yards in his first three college games. He was carted off the field in Saturday's win over Air Force after suffering the injury.

Florida HC Jim McElwain deemed senior CB Duke Dawson (head) "highly questionable" for Saturday’s game against Kentucky.

Dawson is suffering from a head injury. The star corner doesn't seem nearly as concerned about it as his coach does. Dawson tweeted early Monday afternoon: "Everything is fine, I will be playing this upcoming Saturday against UK." We'll see.

Auburn has dismissed backup redshirt junior QB Sean White following his most recent arrest.

White was just reinstated for Auburn's week three game against Mercer. He was arrested for public intoxication less than 24 hours later. White starter games in his past, but his last few seasons have been rocky. Freshman Malik Willis will not serve as the backup.
