ESPN's Todd McShay ranks Clemson senior QB Tajh Boyd in the third tier among draft-eligible prospects at the position.

The senior is listed at No. 7. "Boyd has a knack for making plays, and I love his competitiveness and toughness," McShay writes. "But from inside the pocket he needs to be more consistent in going through his progressions, making good decisions and delivering accurate throws." Boyd checks in behind Miami's Stephen Morris and ahead of Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas. We think his start to this season has been outstanding.

Maryland junior WR Marcus Leak has left the program due to personal reasons.

Leak ranked third on the team with 20 receptions and 297 receiving yards and was second with three receiving touchdowns last season. Maryland's receiving corps was ravaged this offseason, with the top four receivers all departing: Stefon Diggs (early entry into NFL draft), Deon Long (expired eligibility), Jacquille Veii (quit the team) and now Leak. Amba Etta-Tawo and Levern Jacobs figure to be the top targets for whoever wins the quarterback job, with Oklahoma State transfer Daxx Garman perhaps the frontrunner for that competition.

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer put an end to transfer speculation, saying graduate QB Braxton Miller is "playing for Ohio State (this) fall."

Many, including this site, guessed Miller could transfer due to the logjam at OSU's quarterback position. The Buckeyes won a National Championship with Miller taking a snap last season. Instead, Meyer is certain Miller will be a part of the team in 2015 and we have no base to question him. How OSU uses their quarterbacks will be the most fascinating early season storyline in college football.

Virginia graduate QB Greyson Lambert will visit Georgia this weekend and then Florida on Monday, according to Ryan Bartow of 247 Sports.

Lambert will graduate from Virginia on June 23 and will be free to transfer after that date. Per Bartow, Lambert has also heard from Colorado State, Fresno State, South Alabama and Purdue. Lambert has two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately.

The SEC has raised the first offense fine for a school rushing the field, moving it from $5,000 to $50,000, according to Brett McMurphy.

Expect schools to take more precaution to keep students and fans away from the field following games. This is obviously a large jump and it is likely filed under the "safety" classification.

Arizona State LB Davon Durant pled guilty on Thursday to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Durant, 247Sports.com's No. 6 JUCO recruit in the country and ESPN.com's top-ranked JUCO product, was arrested in March and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. After the incident was initially reported, he was suspended indefinitely from the football team. Durant's girlfriend told police that he hit her in the face and grabbed her around the neck. Authorities noted a "small contusion and red mark beneath her left eye and several abrasions and bruising around her neck consistent with finger marks from being grabbed around the neck." The woman later recanted her story but witnesses backed up the initial story.

Eastern Kentucky DE Noah Spence, an Ohio State transfer, was arrested on Thursday morning and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Spence apparently threw a glass bottle that broke across a roadway, according to an officer who approached the football player. Spence admitted to the action, was arrested for the charges and later released. EKU released a statement saying they will handle the matter internally. Spence was dismissed from OSU for failing drug tests.

Oklahoma State graduate QB Daxx Garman will play the 2015 season for Maryland.

Garman played a significant number of snaps in nine game last season after J.W. Walsh went down with an injury. During that time he completed 152-of-277 passes for 2041 yards, with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Garman could absolutely compete for the starting gig with the Terps.

Oklahoma redshirt freshman QB Justice Hansen will transfer.

No destination was disclosed for the Oklahoma native. Hansen was a member of the 2014 class as a four star recruit and redshirted his first season. Hansen likely did not expect Baker Mayfield to join the Sooners, and those close to the program expect the TTU transfer to be named the 2015 starter. Hansen received a number of scholarships from high profile schools out of college.

NFL Media expects USC sophomore WR/CB/KR Adoree' Jackson to take over for 2015 first-round pick Nelson Agholor as the team's punt returner.

Jackson better spend this summer doing endless amounts of wind sprints on the beach, because the Trojans intend to rarely yank him off the field this fall. Jackson broke up 10 passes and caught 10 more as a receiver last year. The 5-foot-10, 182-pound Jackson, a five-star recruit, was the Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. "It remains to be seen whether his role on offense will expand, but if it does, he could be one of the five biggest stars in the Pac-12," wrote Chase Goodbread.

Louisville senior DE Devonte Fields will go to trial for a misdemeanor assault charge on June 17.

Fields' representatives failed to reach an agreement to dismiss his charge -- he allegedly hit an ex-girlfriend -- so he will now stand trial for it. The defensive end spent last year at Trinity Valley Community College after he was dismissed from TCU. He intends to enroll at Louisville in July.

Former Illinois and West Georgia edge player Darrius Caldwell is applying for the NFL Supplemental Draft.

Caldwell was dismissed from Illinois for a violation of unspecified team rules after he filled a sub-package role on the field. He then went to Pearl River Community College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and attempted to transfer to Arizona State last summer before not qualifying for academic reasons. Caldwell played his final season for West Georgia.
