Duke redshirt junior QB Anthony Boone is considered day-to-day after recovering from a broken collarbone.

Boone has missed game action since early September, but it appears he might play against Navy. He began throwing a few weeks ago, which is always a good sign. Boone drew a lot of buzz during the offseason, and it hasn't helped that junior Brandon Connette hasn't impressed since taking over.

UConn CB Byron Jones has visited six teams and is being evaluated as a press CB, not a FS, according to Adam Caplan.

Jones has some history at safety and was asked to play some off coverage, but we agree his traits best fit a press corner. The six teams include the 49ers, Bills, Bears, Cowboys, Cardinals, Eagles, per Caplan, who adds a visit with the Dolphins is also likely. We doubt Jones makes it past the Eagles in round one.

Georgia RB Todd Gurley's medical re-check on his ACL "checked out fine," according to Ian Rapoport.

Gurley is "viewed as good to go for the draft," Rapoport tweeted, adding the hope is for the running back to return for training camp. Do not think this vaults Gurley up, as teams likely prepared for clearance on the ACL. We are comfortable in saying Gurley is locked in the first round?

Former NFL executive Greg Gabriel is hearing FSU pass rusher Mario Edwards' name linked with a few teams at the end of round one.

As Gabriel put it, Edwards "is getting a lot of play" in this range of the draft. It is surprising after watching Edwards' final season at FSU. He rarely impacted games on the edge or when allowed to work inside. The defensive lineman did dropped 20-30 pounds since the season but still tested like an average NFL athlete at the position. Average is not bad, but Edwards continues to receive the "upside" tag.

TCU LB Paul Dawson has visited the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs and has had private workouts for the Bucs and Atlanta Falcons, reports the National Football Post's Aaron Wilson.

We also know Dawson has met with the St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints and visited the Vikings. It's of little surprise that Dawson's dance card is full. After all, he is a hyper-productive player whose work ethic has been questioned and who doesn't test well. On the field, we see a destructive defender. Give us Dawson in Round 2 and we'll be happy.

Over the next 12 days, West Virginia WR Kevin White will visit the Jets, Rams, Bears and Giants.

White has had a strange spring. Up until very recently, he had only made one pre-draft visit total, to Tennessee. Over the next few weeks, he's going to be racking up frequent flyer miles like George Clooney. White figures to go anywhere between No. 4 to the Raiders and No. 10 to the Rams. He's been compared to Terrell Owens and Julio Jones.

The Giants have not traded down in any round during Jerry Reese's time as GM, according to Jordan Raanan.

That is amazing. The Giants have only traded up three times and each only six or seven spots. The Giants "believe there are more than enough quality players in every draft, and it's just a matter of locating and landing them. Reese, a scout at heart, always seems to have someone in mind," Raanan writes. We love this philosophy. It is difficult to judge pick value sometimes, especially when targeting certain prospects and not wanting to miss out on selecting them due to a trade.

Arizona State's Damarious Randall is the new top safety on Mike Mayock's rankings, moving ahead of Alabama's Landon Collins.

Per usual, no explanation is given in the article but will be given by Mayock later in the day. We think Mayock is hearing Randall could be the first prospect off the board at the position, especially for teams that are looking for a free safety. Shaq Thompson still ranks as the No. 3 safety.

NFL media's Bucky Brooks spoke with one veteran NFC scout who pointed to USC's Buck Allen, UNI's David Johnson and South Carolina's Mike Davis as this year's "hidden gems" at RB.

We aren't sure how "hidden" these ball carriers are, since one posted a top Combine performance and the other two were starters for their respective big time programs. Still, it is worth pointing out the three prospects are receiving NFL love. We'd highlight Texas' Malcolm Brown (who played in a rotation) and Gus Johnson from Stephen F. Austin as other "gem" candidates.

The Rams are putting Oregon State QB Sean Mannion through a private workout on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport.

The Rams are among the teams that do not possess the top two picks who have expressed interest in quarterbacks via workouts and visits. Mannion recently worked out for the Cowboys. Mannion should not warrant more than a fifth round selection, but watch a team spend that type of selection on him.

The Cowboys put UCLA QB Brett Hundley through a private workout on Thursday, according to Ian Rapoport.

Hundley visited the Cardinals earlier in the week. It seems Hundley has slid behind Bryce Petty in the "consensus" projected draft slots, but it is still possible for both to be second round picks. Which is amazing.

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports that it's looking "stronger and stronger" that the Chargers will acquire Tennessee's No. 2 overall pick to select Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, while the Cleveland Plain Dealer anticipates the Browns making a "strong pitch" for the Duck.

Cole's sources say Philip Rivers and San Diego's No. 17 pick would be "just a start" to negotiations. This rumor steadfastly refuses to die, which tells us that the Chargers have purchased a seat at Tennessee's hypothetical auction. San Diego will face competition from four or five other serious suitors, including the Browns, owners of the Nos. 12 and 19 picks. As you know, new Browns' QB coach Kevin O'Connell mentored Mariota before officially signing on in Cleveland. If the Titans commit to Zach Mettenberger, all hell is going to break loose on draft night when they leverage their enviable position into a bounty of picks.
