Louisville junior QB Teddy Bridgewater completed 21 of 31 passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Thursday's 24-10 victory over Rutgers.

This and the Kentucky game were Bridgewater's worst two starts this season, and it showed on the field as Louisville didn't put Rutgers away until late in the fourth quarter. Of course, Bridgewater was still easily the best player on the field even on an off-day. He's posted an amazing 18/2 TD/INT ratio this year and led the Cardinals to a 6-0 start.

Former FSU QB Everett Golson signed with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

After going undrafted, Golson will commence his professional career up north. He took several shots at the NFL as a UDFA, participating in post-draft rookie mini-camps with the Colts and Eagles. Both teams passed on him. Now onward to Canada and the Ticats. The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder finished his college career having thrown for 7,628 yards (61.2% completions) with a 52/23 TD/INT ratio between Notre Dame and (after a transfer) FSU.

In a column he penned for Sports Illustrated's Campus Rush, South Carolina HC Will Muschamp admitted that his offense at Florida failed to meet expectations.

"We did a lot of good things at Florida, had good kids in the locker room," Muschamp noted. "We played strong defense and special teams. We simply had an issue on offense and that comes back on me." He went on to write that one of the secret side benefits of taking the Auburn defensive coordinator gig for 2015 was that it allowed him to watch HC Gus Malzahn's offensive mind at work. Muschamp called him a "heck of an offensive coach" and wrote that "to see the tempo of his scheme was an important experience." Since joining the Gamecocks, he has "[tried] to spend as much time with the offense as [he] can." South Carolina is looking to rebound from a lost 3-9 season.

Auburn and Penn State are scheduled for a home-and-home series in 2021 and 2022.

Penn State will host the Tigers on September 18, 2021, with Auburn returning the favor on September 17, 2022. This will be the first time that Auburn has ever played a Big Ten opponent during the regular season.Tigers AD Jay Jacobs said, "This is another great opportunity for our players and fans to be part of something special. Bringing together elite programs rich in tradition is what college football is all about."

Penn State head coach James Franklin believes "all the things are in place for us to make a significant jump offensively" this season.

This statement is delivered on the heels of Christian Hackenberg departing for the NFL. Offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is in his first year with the team, so there is likely optimism he can work with a young star in running back Saquon Barkley, and elevate the other talents at other positions. Trace McSorley is the odds on favorite to be the school's starting quarterback, but is in a competition with Tommy Stevens.

Former Baylor four-star 2016 RB Kameron Martin will sign with Auburn.

Martin picked Auburn over TCU have his release was granted by Baylor. Following his Auburn visit on Saturday, Martin said "My thing is, I just want to go somewhere where I can compete at the highest level. The SEC is the highest level." Auburn's running back depth has been questioned beyond the 2016 season, so this late signing certainly helps. To complicate matters, Martin apparently has a large Baylor tattoo on his left shoulder and arm.

Four-star 2017 WR Mike Harley committed to West Virginia.

Assuming HC Dana Holgorsen can keep Harley in the fold through National Signing Day, this could be a really nice under-the-radar summer commitment for the Mountaineers. The 5-foot-10, 153-pound wideout ranks as Rivals' No. 222 prospect for the 2017 cycle, while ESPN 300 notes that he "[s]hows very good football instincts and has a very nice feel for the position." Rivals recruiting director Mike Farrell singled him out as having the best footwork of any player at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge earlier this month. As for his future role with West Virginia, Harley said, "They are going to use me in the slot for some of the time, but they will put be outside for deep balls, too. They’re going to move me around depending on the plays and the situation."

Former Baylor three-star 2016 WR Donovan Duvernay signed with Texas.

Duvernay becomes the second of five players released from their Baylor NLI's to join Texas -- four-star OL J.P. Urquidez did likewise just a matter of hours ago. Donovan is the brother of WR Devin Duvernay, who himself fled Baylor for Texas last week, though he did not need an NLI release due to a paperwork mistake by the Bears. If HC Charlie Strong can also reel in four-star OL Patrick Hudson -- a Texas native -- from Baylor, that would make for one heck of a summer given that not only did these players initially sign with another school, they signed with a rival program within the Big 12. And now, they are all Longhorns.

Former Baylor four-star 2016 RB Kameron Martin is deciding between TCU and Auburn after being released from his National Letter of Intent.

Martin was released from his NLI on Friday, visited Auburn on Saturday and is visiting TCU on Sunday. Said the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder, "I'll make a decision after my TCU official in the next few days. Probably Tuesday I'll have somewhere I'll say I'll go." The Horned Frogs have a tall task before them, as Martin came away from his Auburn visit gushing. He called it "amazing" and said, "My thing is, I just want to go somewhere where I can compete at the highest level. The SEC is the highest level."

Former Baylor four-star 2016 T J.P. Urquidez signed with Texas.

It begins. Urquidez was one of five members of Baylor's 2016 class to receive releases from their letters of intent on Friday. The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder ranked as ESPN 300's No. 164 prospect for 2016. Now heading to Texas, he will join another former Bear in four-star WR Devin Duvernay. Duvernay did not technically receive a release from his own NLI, but that is only because Baylor did not file it in time to begin with. There have been rumbles that stud tackle Patrick Hudson will also be heading over to the Longhorns in this NLI shuffle. Texas might be the only winner to come out of the whole mess at Baylor.

Four-star 2017 WR Mannie Netherly committed to LSU.

Per Scout.com's Greg Powers, Netherly possesses "the great ability to be able to stretch the field vertically, but can also be dangerous underneath." The 6-foot-2, 183-pounder opted to side with the Tiger cause over competing offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Alabama, Auburn and Florida. Rivals' No. 223 prospect for the 2017 cycle stands as LSU's second receiving commitment in this class, joining fellow four-star wideout Stephen Guidry.

Four-star 2017 DE Zachary Carter committed to Florida.

Carter kicked around the idea of waiting until after his senior season at Hillsborough High to announce the commitment, but he has changed course over the last few weeks and voila, a commitment to the Gators. His choice came down to Florida and Clemson, with HC Jim McElwain winning the day. As for his role down in Gainesville, Carter explained, "They told me that I’m a rush end, but I’ll play strongside also. So that’s sorta what they’re talking about now anyway." Rivals checks him into their master list of 2017 recruits at No. 62 overall.
