Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel announced senior QB James Franklin will only be out three to five weeks with a shoulder injury.

Maty Mauk will start against Florida and Corbin Berkstresser will hold down the backup role. The head coach added if Franklin's injury was to his non-throwing shoulder, the quarterback would only miss one week. This is positive news, since Franklin has a history of shoulder injuries.

Kansas State senior WR Tyler Lockett tore it up in Morgantown on Thursday night, catching 10 passes for 196 yards in a 26-20 win over West Virginia.

That wasn't all. He had over 100 return yards, including a 43-yard punt return for a touchdown just before halftime. It's nice to see him excelling so much as a returner, as that aspect of his game is Lockett's ticket into the NFL. Lockett eclipsed his father's school record for career receiving yards earlier this month. Now Junior is hoping to put that mark out of reach for his own son. The diminutive receiver (5-foot-11, 178 pounds) doesn't project neatly as a next-level receiving threat, so we're a bit pessimistic on the overall assessment, despite his stellar collegiate showing. Lockett's return ability, however, makes him a Day 3 lock.

Washington State redshirt senior Connor Halliday broke his lower left leg against USC, not his ankle, which was previously reported.

Halliday snapped his tibia and fibula when Trojans defensive end Leonard Williams fell on his leg during Nov. 1's game. The senior's collegiate career is over, and he understands his legacy will be those gorgeous video game numbers. "It shows I was an explosive quarterback," Halliday said. "When we got rolling there was not too much other people could do to stop it."

FSU junior DT Eddie Goldman ranks No. 5 overall on the MMQB writer Andy Staples' big board.

"The Seminoles can thank Goldman for the fact that they’re still undefeated," Staples opens, which is a massive statement but used in the context of the Clemson game. FSU's defense has a ton of individual talent, but miscues and offensive turnovers have not helped. Goldman and Mario Edwards Jr., who ranks at No. 11 for Staples, form a nice duo on the Noles' front four.

Rotoworld's Josh Norris believes UCLA LB Eric Kendricks is the best prospect not receiving enough praise from evaluators.

"One of the most impressive defensive performers I have watched regardless of position," Norris writes. "We know Kendricks can recognize running lanes and read the triangle, but where he can be most beneficial to a team early on is in coverage. Turn on the Virginia game to find out." In fact, Norris ranks Kendricks as the top off line of scrimmage linebacker in this class.

Louisville senior WR DeVante Parker was listed at No. 9 overall on Todd McShay's latest big board.

"He has an above-average size-speed combo with the ability to run under the deep ball and make defenders miss and pick up extra yards after the catch," McShay says. "He has good separation skills and can pluck the ball out of the air and make over-the-shoulder catches." Parker recently returned from a broken foot and has picked up right where he left off. The Cardinals face Notre Dame on Saturday. For McShay Parker checks in after Amari Cooper (No. 5), but before Kevin White (No. 14), Devin Funchess (No. 19), Jaelen Strong (No. 26) and Ty Montgomery (No. 29).

LSU senior RB Kenny Hilliard has committed to playing in the East-West Shrine game.

It was previously reported Hilliard would miss the remainder of the regular season with a shoulder injury, and obviously his status for this all star game hinges on his health. He has rushed for 431 yards and six touchdowns on 87 carries this season.

When asked who will be the Chris Borland of the 2015 NFL Draft, three NFL executives responded with Miami senior LB Denzel Perryman's name.

"He has some similar issues to Borland. Both guys lack height and have short arms. Some teams will put him in the 'doesn't fit' category," one executive told NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah. "He's going to be a great player at the next level," another said of Perryman. Borland was selected in the middle of the third-round last May, so it will be worth monitoring if Perryman is selected in the same area.

An AFC executive told NFL.com that he thought FSU redshirt sophomore QB Jameis Winston was "pretty impressive" on the football field.

"When you study him on tape...his pocket movement and accuracy are both outstanding," said the scout. Winston is completing 65.8% of his passes this season. NFL.com's draft team of Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Charles Davis and Lance Zierlein wrote that "there might not be a bigger boom-bust prospect to enter the draft" than Jameis Winston. Same old story of off-field vs on-field with Winston. In the latest draft ranking by Rotoworld's Josh Norris, Winston is listed as the No. 2 quarterback prospect for the 2015 draft. Norris noted, "I focus on things I can see."

An NFC North scout told NFL.com that he thinks that Nebraska junior edge rusher Randy Gregory is "the best [pass rusher] this year."

"[Gregory's] ability to rush from a three-point stance" and as an OLB is "impressive' in the scout's eyes. The scout also liked that Gregory had "plenty of quick-twitch and explosiveness." NFL.com's draft analyst team of Daniel Jeremiah, Bucky Brooks, Charles Davis and Lance Zierlein agreed, noting that the 6-foot-6, 255-pounder is "long and narrow, but very physical and a beast off the edge."

Maryland junior WR Stephon Diggs (kidney) will not play against Michigan on Saturday.

The receiver is currently rehabbing from a lacerated kidney and has not practiced this week. The Maryland coaching staff had already insinuated that it was very possible that Diggs would miss the rest of the regular season, so his absence in the second-to-last game doesn't come as much of a surprise.

An NFC West scout told NFL.com that Ohio State redshirt freshman QB J.T. Barrett was a "revelation" against Minnesota on Saturday.

The scout said that Barrett's improvement from last spring was "amazing," going on to add that he thought Barrett was "definitely tracking toward being an NFL quarterback." It will be interesting to see if Barrett can keep this kind of production (64% completions for 2,356 yards and 38 total touchdowns to eight interceptions) when coaches have a full season of film on him and an off-season to scheme.
