Texas A&M junior RT Cedric Ogbuehi is "looking good to play" against Mississippi State, according to CBS Sports' Jeremy Fowler.

Ogbuehi has dealt with a groin injury, which was suffered prior to the Vanderbilt game on October 26. The stud junior has missed time since. Left tackle Jake Matthews overshadows Ogbuehi's talents, and our Josh Norris considers the latter the No. 2 tackle prospect behind his senior teammate.

Central Michigan redshirt senior WR Jesse Kroll will miss the remainder of the 2016 season due to a knee injury.

Tough blow for the Chippewas, as Kroll exits for the year having caught 12 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown through four games. With the 6-foot-3, 214-pounder out of the picture, now, Corey Willis figures to receive extended work moving forward.

Iowa senior WR Matt VandeBerg has been ruled out indefinitely due to a broken foot.

VandeBerg suffered the broken foot during practice on Monday. Said HC Kirk Ferentz, "We know that Matt will work extremely hard to get back on the field as soon as possible." The 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior was working to a 19-284-3 receiving line through four games. It is not yet known just how long this broken hoof will sideline VandeBerg, but at the very least, he will not be playing against Northwestern this weekend.

Football Scoop's Scott Roussel is reporting that LSU is looking to swing for a big-name coaching replacement for the departed Les Miles.

No surprise here, as the Tigers have national title-level talent. Per Roussel, the program is putting together a search committee and they plan on "gaug[ing] the interest" of the likes of Alabama's Nick Saban, Ohio State's Urban Meyer, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, FSU's Jimbo Fisher and Houston's Tom Herman. Roussel was told that "money will not be an issue here." It should be noted that Ed Orgeron is serving as interim head coach in the wake of Miles' departure and it is not outside of the realm of possibility that he could secure the job in the longer term.

Iowa senior WR Matt VandeBerg suffered a broken foot in practice on Monday.

Through four games Vandeberg is the school's leading receiver, catching 19 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Head coach Kirk Ferentz won't address the media until Tuesday, and we will learn more about VandeBerg then. Iowa's schedule has been quite easy, even when factoring in a loss to North Dakota State, and doesn't ramp up until Wisconsin on October 22.

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher says he hasn't spoken to LSU about its coaching vacancy.

"I'm not talking about LSU. No I haven't (had contact) and I'm not talking about it," Fisher told reporters Monday. "We're talking about North Carolina." Fisher won a national championship as LSU's offensive coordinator in 2003. As referenced, the Seminoles host the Tar Heels on Saturday.

Florida hired Mississippi State AD Scott Stricklin as its new athletic director.

Stricklin replaces Jeremy Foley, who retired following 40 years at the school, including the last 25 as Florida's AD. Stricklin had been leading the Bulldogs' athletics department since 2012.

BookMaker.eu opened Houston HC Tom Herman as the favorite to become LSU's next coach.

Herman is +100, while Florida State's Jimbo Fisher is +250. Rounding out the top five are Texas Tech's Kliff Kingsbury (+1400), TCU's Gary Patterson (+1500) and Louisville's Bobby Petrino (+1700). Les Miles was fired following LSU's last-second loss to Auburn.

LSU suspended junior DL Davon Godchaux following his Monday booking on false imprisonment and domestic abuse battery/child endangerment.

Each charge is a misdemeanor. This would be interim coach Ed Orgeron's first big move as boss. Godchaux and his girlfriend, who was also arrested, have conflicting versions of the "short tussle", as it was referred to in the police report. Godchaux's suspension is indefinite.

Rutgers senior WR Janarion Grant's season-ending right ankle injury occurred just past the cut-off to apply for a medical redshirt year.

The NCAA says a player applying for a medical redshirt cannot have participated in more than 30 percent of the season. After playing Iowa, Rutgers is one-third of the way through its 12-game schedule. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound speedster broke his ankle against the Hawkeyes. His collegiate career, barring a miracle, is over.

Alabama HC Nick Saban said that sophomore RB Damien Harris is day-to-day with an ankle injury.

Harris sustained a right ankle injury on Alabama's first drive against Kent State on Saturday. He did not return to that contest and Saban is being predictably tight-lipped as to Harris' overall health. "Day-to-day" is certainly much more encouraging than "questionable" or "doubtful," but there just isn't a ton of information to go on, here.

Oregon received a verbal commitment from four-star 2017 ATH Jaylon Redd.

The Ducks have dropped back-to-back contests against Nebraska and Colorado over the past two weekends, making Redd's Monday commitment something of a nice momentary diversion. Oregon has told the 5-foot-9, 180-pounder that they envision utilizing him in similar fashion to Charles Nelson, who has played both corner and wide receiver during his time in the program. "It tells me they want me to show my abilities and not limit me in anything," Redd explained after Oregon initially offered to him. "That’s really good." He might be committed to Oregon, but official visits to other programs are expected, here. He took one to Nebraska earlier this season and is planning to visit (in either official or unofficial capacity) UCLA, USC, Arizona and Arizona State before all is said and done. He ranks as Rivals' No. 98 overall prospect for the 2017 cycle.
