Draft insider Tony Pauline is hearing "more and more" that Fresno State redshirt sophomore WR Davante Adams will declare for May's draft.

Pauline could not say enough good things about Adams and how impressive he has been this season. It helps to play in a pass happy offense, but Adams' role was one reason why Jalen Saunders left for Oklahoma. This receiver class could be quite strong at the top.

Northwestern junior RB Justin Jackson ran for 171 yards and a score in 26 attempts as the Wildcats upset Iowa 38-31 on Saturday.

Jackson was heroic in lifting the double-digit road 'dog to an upset victory. It's a day he'll most certainly remember, as Jackson became the fourth player in school history to top 3,000 career yards. The Wildcats managed to hang 38 points on the Hawkeyes despite entering as the worst scoring offense in the conference. If that unit is to move the ball consistently, Jackson will have to keep this up.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune's James Smith reports that LSU junior RB Leonard Fournette (ankle) won't play in Saturday's showdown with Missouri.

Fournette has been hampered by ankle concerns since August. They had already cost him one game, against Jacksonville State. With Fournette ruled out for Saturday's date with Mizzou, Derrius Guice draws the start. Fantasy owners stashing Guice on their bench should feel free to start him. He rushed for 155 yards last time Fournette was unable to go.

Georgia junior RB Nick Chubb (ankle) is playing with a brace on his ankle in Saturday's game against Tennessee.

All week, Chubb looked doubtful for Saturday due to the ankle injury he suffered against Ole Miss last weekend. On Friday, his father strongly insinuated that he would not be suiting up against the Vols. However, Kirby Smart noted on the Paul Finebaum Show that the 5-foot-10, 228-pounder had made significant progress health-wise over the last two days. Sony Michel still figures to receive a fair number of carries in the contest.
Oct 1 - 4:01 PM

Notre Dame redshirt sophomore QB DeShone Kizer completed 23 of 35 attempts for a whopping 471 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the school's 50-33 win over Syracuse.

He added another short rushing touchdown. Kizer and the Irish decimated the Syracuse secondary early in the game, scoring 23 points in the first quarter. Kizer delivered a beautiful intermediate throw that was taken to the house, the placed an amazing sideline dart that also resulted in a score. Notre Dame's offense is not the issue.
Oct 1 - 3:52 PM

Oklahoma State junior QB Mason Rudolph completed 19 of 28 attempts for 392 yards and three touchdowns in the school's 49-31 win over Texas.

A yards per attempt average of 14 is outstanding. Rudolph delivered one 3rd & 10 completion between four defenders with perfect placement to allow his receiver to convert a 52 yard completion. He added another leaping touchdown on the ground. We likely will look back on this game as one of Rudolph's best of his career.
Oct 1 - 3:47 PM

Ohio State redshirt junior QB J.T. Barrett completed 21 of 29 attempts for 238 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in the school's 58-0 win over Rutgers.

Barrett is still quite good, despite what last season's mangled quarterback situation might have suggested. All four touchdown throws were in the first half, and the first was an outstanding play after staying strong in the pocket against pressure. He added another 46 rushing yards. Barrett might not be a downfield passer, but he can definitely lead an offense that focuses on yards after the catch and playing inside of structure.
Oct 1 - 3:18 PM

Texas A&M junior edge rusher Myles Garrett will miss Saturday's game against South Carolina with a lower left leg injury.

The No. 9 Aggies should not need Garrett to beat the Gamecocks. Wide receivers Ricky Seals-Jones and Speedy Noil are also out. Myles Garrett, a possible No. 1 pick, was injury last week against Arkansas. After South Carolina, Texas A&M face Tennessee next week.
Oct 1 - 2:58 PM

Baylor junior WR K.D. Cannon did not travel with the team for Saturday's game against Iowa State.

Cannon is dealing with a groin injury and was held out of practice this week after aggravating it last weekend against Oklahoma State. On the season, Cannon has 27 catches for 370 yards and four touchdowns. He is the team's leading receiver, almost doubling the next pass catcher on the team.

ESPN's Brett McMurphy reports LSU junior RB Leonard Fournette is very doubtful to play against Missouri on Saturday.

Fournette is dealing with an ankle injury, something in aggravated in a recent game after initially hurting it just before the season. Saturday's game is Ed Orgeron's first as LSU interim head coach, and he will be without his top player. Derrius Guice, the school's backup, is still one of the nation's best ball carriers. Fournette should take all the time he needs to heal.
Oct 1 - 10:52 AM

Toledo redshirt sophomore WR Jon'Vea Johnson caught 9 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns in the school's loss to BYU.

One touchdown accounted for 79 yards, but Johnson's 15 yard scoring grab might have been the most impressive, converting a contested catch into a touchdown. We did not know Johnson's name before Friday's contest. That has obviously changed. In fact, he recorded just three catches prior to the loss to BYU.
Oct 1 - 10:36 AM

Toledo senior QB Logan Woodside completed 30-of-38 passes for 505 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in Friday's 55-53 loss to BYU.

Woodside and the Rockets were down 21-7 near the end of the first quarter, but they came roaring back in a highly entertaining Friday night contest that saw multiple lead changes. Three of Woodside's five touchdown passes came in the second half and Toledo held a 53-52 advantage with just over a minute remaining before BYU drove down the field for a short game-winning field goal at the gun to win it. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior has been dynamite this season, throwing at least four touchdown passes in three consecutive contests. He has tossed 16 through four games.
