UCF redshirt junior QB Blake Bortles completed 20 of 31 attempts for 301 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Wednesday's 52-42 upset win over Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl.

He also ran for 93 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts. "Source close to Bortles says he's still waiting on draft grade from NFL,"'s Gil Brandt tweeted on Wednesday. "Will make decision after he receives." ESPN's Todd McShay has ranked Bortles (6-foot-5, 230-pounds) as the second-best quarterback prospect. Bortles' movement skills and strength in the pocket remind us of Andrew Luck and Ben Roethlisberger. We think he'll be playing on Sundays next season. Bortles declined to answer after the game when he was asked about his intentions. He faces a Jan. 15 deadline to declare.

Clemson OC Chad Morris insinuated that new freshman starting QB Deshaun Watson will not see snaps directly under center.

"Morris said Watson fumbled a snap under center in a short-yardage situation during last Thursday's practice. He's a shotgun guy," beat writer Roy Philpott tweeted. The question was raised after Clemson failed to convert a crucial fourth down play, choosing to run a slow developing play instead. "I didn't trust him," Morris said when asked about Watson potentially taking the ball directly from center in that situation.

UCLA junior DB Randall Goforth will have surgery on both shoulders and miss the remainder of the season.

Goforth separated his right shoulder against Memphis on September 6 after previously separating his left one. Beat writer Chris Foster says Goforth is expected to be out until next fall. Sophomore Tahaan Goodman started in Goforth's place against Texas.

Alabama freshman LT Cameron Robinson received a +6.1 grade from Pro Football Focus against Florida.

1.6 of that grade was attributed to pass protection, with 3.6 as a run blocker. We usually like to wait to crown prospects, but Robinson has all the makings of a future high NFL draft pick. He can move his man in the running game or work out in space when asked to.

Florida missed 30 tackles in the school's 42-21 loss to Alabama, according to Pro Football Focus.

"Three Gators missed four apiece, including linebacker Michael Taylor, cornerback Brian Poole, and safety Jabari Gorman," PFF's Steve Palazzalo writes. In fact, the PFF crew notes safety Marcus Maye has the only Florida defensive starter who did not miss a tackle. Be sure to click the link below to see every player graded.

Alabama junior S Landon Collins received Pro Football Focus' highest grade, a +6.9, in the school's game against Alabama.

Steve Palazzolo of PFF points out Collins made plays when lining up close or far from the line of scrimmage. "He picked up two stops in the running game, but it was his play at free safety that really stood out." In fact, Collins picked up a +5.5 grade in coverage. Remember, these grades are an opinion and evaluation of play, but Collins' game really stood out.

Virginia Tech senior DT Luther Maddy will miss 2-4 weeks after undergoing knee surgery.

The surgery is to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Maddy initially suffered the injury against ECU and was limited throughout the following week. The defensive tackle then played 48 snaps against Georgia Tech, seeing numerous cut blocks. Sophomore Nigel Williams is expected to fill in for Maddy.

UCLA redshirt junior QB Brett Hundley has returned to practice, but HC Jim Mora has thus far refused to address his availability for Thursday's huge game against Arizona State.

Hundley suffered a "slight" hyper extension last Saturday against Texas and was forced out of the second half. "All of our players who are out, what we try to do is make the best decisions for them based upon the knowledge we have," Mora said. "We depend on our doctors to get us good information, and we got the best doctors in the nation in my opinion. If they clear him, and they say he can play, just like everyone else, then we’ll play him." Hundley is 57-of-81 for 686 yards with three touchdowns and one interception this year. If he can't go, the Bruins will turn to backup Jerry Neuheisel, who completed 23-of-30 passes for 178 yards with two touchdowns against the Longhorns.

Rutgers redshirt junior RB Paul James will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his ACL against Navy over the weekend.

James, who came into the matchup No. 5 on the Big Ten’s rushing list, ends his 2014 campaign with 63 carries for 363 yards and five touchdowns. Before the helmet of a Navy defender struck James' knee and ended his season, the star running back had carried seven times for 96 yards and a touchdown. This is a devastating blow for both the school and player; Rutgers' loses its premier playmaker, while James' NFL dreams are now delayed for at least a year. James reminds CBS Sports' Dane Brugler of "a not-as-cut version of Chargers back Ryan Mathews." James led Rutgers with 881 yards a year ago, missing four games with a broken fibula.

Alabama redshirt senior QB Blake Sims said his shoulder is fine.

The 6-foot, 208-pounder left Saturday's game against Florida late in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on his right (throwing) shoulder. He returned at the beginning of the fourth quarter. "It’s very fine," Sims said. "Just a little bruised. I’m going to get with the training staff and try to get better and let the team know I’m good. I’m going to come out against Ole Miss (Oct. 4) and try to win the game. I’ll be all right. I’m going to get with the training staff and ice it, ice it, ice it." The Crimson Tide has a bye this week. "It will probably be something that’s sore for him for a while," said HC Nick Saban. "Hopefully that second week he’ll be able to get back to normal in practice."

Arizona redshirt senior WR Austin Hill hauled in a 47-yard hard Hail Mary from Anu Solomon as time expired to push Arizona to a 49-45 victory over Cal on Saturday night.

Arizona got whipped for most of the game. The Wildcats trailed 28-6 at halftime, and they were down 45-30 with four minutes left. That's when the school improbably scored three consecutive touchdowns, capped by Solomon's desperation heave into the right corner of the end zone that reached Hill's hands untouched. Hill, who suffered a torn ACL in the spring of 2013, finished with eight catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Clemson true freshman QB Deshaun Watson will make his first career start against North Carolina on Saturday.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney announced the news on Sunday, belatedly conceding what had been clear for the past few weeks: The Tigers are far more dangerous with Watson at quarterback than Cole Stoudt. Watson came on in relief of Stoudt in Saturday's overtime loss to Florida State, completing 19-of-28 attempts for 266 yards, and rushing 12 times for 30 yards and a touchdown. Watson is 29-for-41 for 479 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions overall. He was graded as the No. 3 player in the nation by Tom Lemming coming out of high school.
