Wisconsin ILB Chris Borland will be featured in NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah's updated top 50.

The exact ranking is unclear at this time, but it is high praise for a prospect who will likely get knocked by teams due to his lack of ideal size. Jeremiah loves "his timing/burst/finish as a blitzer." Borland is likely best suited on the inside, however, his projection will be an interesting one.

Washington redshirt junior CB Marcus Peters will play against Georgia State after being suspended for the Illinois game.

"We got him back," head coach Chris Petersen said. "He’s back with us. We’ll just take it one day at a time." Peters was suspended as a result of a sideline tirade after he was benched for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Peters is extremely talented, and the Huskies finally put things together defensively against the Illini.

Utah State senior QB Chuckie Keeton will miss Saturday's game against Arkansas State.

Keeton re-injured his left knee against Wake Forest and was forced out of the second half. Head coach Matt Wells did say Keeton did not re-tear his ACL, but the goal is not to rush him along. "Chuckie is fine from a health standpoint," Wells declared. "The ACL is all intact; everything's good. But it's banged up, guys, and that's the bottom line." Utah State has a bye following this matchup, so Keeton will be evaluated at that time. He does not look like the same player this season.

Sports Illustrated reports LSU true freshman DT Travonte Valentine might not play this season even if his eligibility is green-lighted by the SEC.

Valentine has been awaiting his eligibility status after stepping foot on campus in poor high school academic standing. "Valentine, who at one time was purportedly 6-3 and 325 pounds, showed up in Baton Rouge extremely overweight, according to a source," Sports Illustrated reported. "The combination of needing to lose weight and the SEC’s ongoing review of his academic credentials makes him a likely candidate to redshirt this season." Valentine was cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse late last month, a decision that shocked many. "If Travonte Valentine qualifies there’s something wrong," a source said, saying Valentine had very few high school credits entering his junior year. "It’s not humanly possible." The athletic 6-foot-3, 325-pounder was rated as the No. 34 overall player in his class by 247Sports.com.

Clemson senior edge rusher Vic Beasley believes he is better than Jadeveon Clowney.

"I feel like I’m the better player," Beasley said. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Beasley acknowledged Clowney's size advantage at 6-foot-5, 266 pounds. The senior has collected 23 sacks the last three years, which means he'll likely top Clowney’s career total of 24 career sacks over the next few months, though he'll obviously have needed more games to do it. "I feel like I’ve got the best first step in college football," Beasley said.

Georgia freshman RB Nick Chubb underwent thumb surgery on Monday, and he has not yet been given a timeline to return.

He suffered the injury during practice last week. The Bulldogs haven't yet announced Chubb's availability for Saturday’s game with Troy, though it'd be a shock if he played. "They said they would see how he’s doing (Tuesday) before they make that decision," his mother, Lavelle Chub, said. "Possibly this week but they’re not really sure (how long he’ll be out)." Chubb ranks second nationally with a 13 yards per carry average, rushing eight times for 104 yards and a touchdown.

Baylor announced that WRs Antwan Goodley (quad), Corey Coleman (hamstring), and Clay Fuller (clavicle) will all return against Iowa State after an upcoming bye week.

Bears head coach Art Briles confirmed the news in a teleconference on Monday. After combining for 138 receptions last season, the trio has not yet caught a pass between them in 2014. Wonder, then, that Baylor is still scoring points at will. Part of the reason for that -- aside from the terrible schedule, of course -- is the emergence of true freshman KD Cannon, who has 14 receptions for 471 yards (leads the FBS) and five touchdowns through three games.

Oklahoma athletic director Joe Castiglione indicated that the school wouldn't repeat the decision to admit redshirt sophomore WR Dorial Green-Beckham if it had do the decision over.

"If someone presented a case like that now, I think you would be fair to say that he probably wouldn’t be at Oklahoma," Castiglione said, clarifying that Oklahoma didn’t regret admitting the receiver. The quote has less to do with Green-Beckham himself, and more to do with public perception. SI's The Inside Read column spoke with several college officials who said it "will be more difficult for schools to rely on the fact that a player wasn’t charged or preach that a player has 'learned his lesson.'" DGB was dismissed from Missouri after unlawfully forcing his way into an apartment seeking his girlfriend, and then pushing a different woman down stairs. He was never charged.

Baylor HC Art Briles told reporters redshirt senior QB Bryce Petty is 100 percent back from injury.

Petty had been hobbled since week one against SMU while dealing with two cracks in his back. All in all, he only missed one game (against Northwestern State) and the Bears are currently 3-0. Expect Petty to continue to put up huge numbers. For evaluators, focus on when he is forced to make throws from a closing pocket to covered receivers.
Sep 15 - 12:25 PM

Oklahoma sophomore RB Keith Ford will miss at least 2-3 with a slight foot fracture.

Ford is a member of the Sooners' running back trio, which includes Samaje Perine and Alex Ross. However, many consider Ford the best of the group. In their next three games, Oklahoma faces West Virginia, TCU and Texas, with an off week between the first two games. Ford has rushed for 194 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries.

Central Michigan senior RB Thomas Rawls has been suspended indefinitely after being charged with three felonies.

The charges include stealing a purse at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort and stealing two credit cards from said purse, according to beat writer Nate Schneider. On Saturday, a CMU release stated "an issue that came to our attention," and Rawls was subsequently withheld from the game against Syracuse. The Michigan transfer rushed for 276 yards and three touchdowns on 56 attempts prior to missing this contest. The Chippewas lost 40-3 to Syracuse.
Sep 15 - 10:51 AM

Texas A&M edge rusher Myles Garrett is 2.5 sacks away from tying Jadeveon Clowney's SEC freshman sack record of eight.

Sacks aren't everything, but Garrett already has 5.5 in the Aggies' revamped defense. "I didn't know he had this kind of pass rush ability in terms of his power, speed and these counter moves," said Texas A&M DC Mark Snyder. "It's pretty freakish... He can dip and rip, and bend the corner like I've never [seen]." Garrett was the defensive prize of A&M's 2014 class, and he is obviously already making his mark.
