Fox Sports' Jay Glazer tweeted Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel has "flown up draft boards."

"Manziel has done more to help himself during his private mtgs, workout w teams than any QB in this draft FAR!!!" Glazer added. "Still teams at top are wrestling (with) risk-reward of such dynamic talent (versus) can his body hold up on this level." Manziel has a real shot at being the first quarterback off the board.

Oklahoma freshman RB Samaje Perine rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns on 34 carries, breaking Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon III's FBS record which was set last week.

Perine did not even start this game. Keith Ford did. In fact the game is still going on but Perine has been pulled. Gordon rushed for 408 yards last week, which broke a record set by LaDainian Tomlinson that had stood for over 10 years. Perine rushed for 213 yards last week, so he is having a pretty good month. Oklahoma has only attempted three passes thus far, and Perine caught one of them.

Minnesota senior RB David Cobb rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the school's 28-24 win over Nebraska.

He added 29 receiving yards before exiting following a touchdown run. It looked like Cobb pulled something, but it is unclear if it was his hamstring, quad or something else. We have continued to compare Cobb to Le'Veon Bell after taxes. He has many of the same qualities, just to a lesser degree.

Indiana junior RB Tevin Coleman rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries in the school's 42-27 loss to Ohio State.

Coleman displayed a tremendous amount of long speed in this game, taking advantage of lanes and openings. His play in the last few weeks is astounding, considering Indiana has no passing attack and defenses have tended to stack the box against the Hoosiers. The running back class is an extremely talented group.

Michigan State junior QB Connor Cook completed 16 of 24 attempts for 254 yards and two touchdowns in the school's 45-3 win over Rutgers.

As you can tell by the score, we did not watch the game. Cook and Michigan State were helped by a strong rushing attack, but the Spartans converted a number of passes beyond 20 yards downfield. The Spartans face Penn State next weekend.

Updating a previous item, Arizona State redshirt junior WR Jaelen Strong will not play against Washington State.

There were conflicting reports earlier and we chose to go with a beat writer who said Strong was expected to play after the receiver went the warmups. We apologize for that information being wrong. Strong suffered a concussion last week.
Nov 22 - 1:03 PM

Michigan State redshirt senior Tony Lippett will start at WR and CB against Maryland.

It is senior day, which might be more of a factor in Lippett playing on both sides of the ball as opposed to a lack of depth. We think Lippett is one of the best route runners in all of college football and has come down with acrobatic catches when Connor Cook has trusted him in tight coverage.

South Alabama senior TE Wes Saxton has accepted an invitation to play in the East West Shrine game.

Saxton is a very intriguing move tight end prospect and could be one of the top attendees at this all star event. His numbers have dropped off this year, but for a career, Saxton has accumulated 91 catches for 1,092 yards and one touchdown in three seasons. "He's a mismatch nightmare and, yes, I think he needs to mature on the field in some areas, but I could easily make the argument he has the most upside of any senior at his position this year," one AFC East scout said in September.

Arkansas senior TE A.J. Derby has accepted an invitation to the East West Shrine game.

Derby is a converted quarterback from Iowa via a stint in JUCO. The senior tight end class is extremely thing, but Derby is one of the more intriguing names. He continues to show improvement despite a diminutive stat line of 21 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns.

NFL Media's Mike Mayock believes Iowa senior T Brandon Scherff's best NFL fit is inside at G.

Mayock notes Scherff's size: 6'5/320 lbs with 33-inch arms. "He's tough, aggressive, and he finishes," Mayock states, praising Scherff's zone blocking abilities and his strength once getting his hands on the opponent. Mayock's comparisons for the Iowa senior include Zach martin and Joel Bitonio, two early round rookies who have made a tremendous impact on their respective teams. We would not be surprised to see Scherff stay on the outside in the NFL.

Auburn senior QB Nick Marshall would be willing to play another position in the NFL if he's asked.

"It's just something I have to think about," Marshall said. "As of right now, I'm open to play anything, but I'm looking to play quarterback." Marshall is a superb athlete and a gifted runner, but his passing mechanics are not NFL-caliber. He has a number of options should he choose to switch position, a seeming fit at RB, WR, or DB. Georgia coach Mark Richt signed Marshall as a CB out of high school. "We certainly looked at him as (a quarterback), the possibility, but we believed he could be one of the best cornerbacks in America," Richt said. "We believe he could be a very high draft pick as a corner as well. He's that talented of a guy."
Nov 21 - 6:17 PM

UCLA redshirt junior QB Brett Hundley was compared by an area scout to former Jaguar David Garrard.

"I feel bad for him, because everyone hyped him up so much in the preseason, it was like he had to play at a (Marcus) Mariota-type level or he'd be a failure," the AFC area scout told Site columnist Albert Breer notes on-field improvement for Hundley, but doesn't believe it will be enough to get him into Round 1 or 2 in the spring. "He has very good size and athletic ability, but he struggles reading things and throwing with accuracy," an AFC scouting director said. Hundley has a crucial matchup this Saturday, taking on USC's pro-style defense.
