Oregon coach Mark Helfrich thought senior CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu would declare for the 2014 NFL Draft.
"If I would have been forced to lay my chips somewhere," Helfrich said, "that's probably where I would have. It was a pleasant surprise." Ekpre-Olomu nearly did, and it almost sounds as though he wish he had. "I'm watching them from the sidelines knowing I could be doing the same thing," Ekpre-Olomu said, describing Oregon's pro day. "I mean, it was great cheering on my teammates, but at the same time, I thought about it, of course. Yeah, you always think about the what-ifs." Ekpre-Olomu will graduate next spring, and also become a first-round pick, if everything goes according to plan. Josh Norris slotted him No. 17 to the Steelers in his 2015 mock draft.
