Los Angeles is "looking like a solid front-runner" for the 2015 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com's Gil Brandt.

Brandt is very connected to the actual event and helps them decide which prospects should be invited to attend every year. The league has previously stated the event will be held in either Chicago or L.A. in 2015, and some have even speculated the draft could be split into two cities and extended another day, totaling four.

Football Scoop is reporting that Beau Baldwin will be named the next head coach of Oregon State once their season is over.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Baldwin had interviewed for the position. Apparently, this interview went well. The 45-year-old coach served as head coach at Eastern Washington prior to leaving to coordinate the Golden Bears offense, and he lead the Eagles to a national title and playoff appearances in six of nine seasons with an 85-32 overall record. He also spent a year coaching at Central Washington. The 1-10 Beavers finish their season on Saturday against Oregon State.

UCF sophomore QB McKenzie Milton completed 29-of-44 passes for 373 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Friday's 49-42 win against South Florida.

Milton also tacked on 11 runs for 56 yards and a score in a dual with USF's Quinton Flowers in a game which certainly will be in the running for game of the year. Next up for the sophomore and his Golden Knights will be a trip to the American Athletic Conference Championship Game, and then a potential New Year's Day bowl game.

Iowa senior RB Akrum Wadley rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in Friday's 56-14 bludgeoning of Nebraska.

Wadley finished up the regular-season campaign in superb style, with both the 153 yards rushing and three touchdowns representing bests on the year for the senior. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder got his scoring bonanza started with a 20-yard touchdown scamper near the end of the first quarter, then followed it up with a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter as Iowa pulled away from the Cornhuskers after a tight start to the game. Through 12 games, Wadley has now rushed for 1,015 yards and nine touchdowns. He'll have one more opportunity to achieve statistical prominence when the Hawkeyes play their bowl game, then off to the NFL Draft.

Arkansas has fired coach Bret Bielema after Saturday's loss to Missouri.

Bielema was fired not long after Friday's loss to Missouri. This has been rumored for a while -- particularly after the Razorbacks fired athletic director Jeff Long -- so it's not a major surprise, although the timing might be. With Arkansas finishing the season 4-8, they won't need to name an interim for the bowl game. Bielema finishes out his time at Arkansas having posted a 29-34 record (11-29 in conference) over the course of five seasons. Expect the Razorbacks to be mentioned with several high-profile names, with Auburn's Gus Malzahn reportedly the top target from the school's Board of Regents.

San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny rushed for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in Friday's 35-10 win over New Mexico.

Penny needed 176 yards to top 2,000 yards for the regular season. Mission accomplished and then a bit more. The 5-foot-11, 220-pound senior first found paydirt with a 20-yard touchdown run in the closing seconds of the first half, then followed that score up with an even more explosive 51-yard bolt to glory early in the third quarter. Penny was rolling through the first eight games of the season -- he surpassed 100 yards rushing in six of those contests -- but truly saved his best for last, gaining at least 200 yards on the ground in each of his last four games. For the campaign as a whole, the uber-productive back has rushed for 2,027 yards and 19 touchdowns across 12 games played.

ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Edward Aschoff report that Florida officials will meet with representatives for UCF HC Scott Frost in Orlando this weekend in relation to their open head-coaching gig.

Florida was in the hunt for Chip Kelly, but multiple outlets are now reporting that they have taken their hat out of that particular ring. Frost looks to be their next choice. He's also been linked to Nebraska, should the Cornhuskers opt to cut bait with HC Mike Riley. Frost is an alumni of the university. Should Florida whiff on Frost, Schlabach and Aschoff tick off Mississippi State's Dan Mullen, West Virginia's Dana Holgorsen, Washington State's Mike Leach and Oregon's Willie Taggart as potential options for the Gators.

Football Scoop reports that the coaches they have spoken with believe that Chip Kelly will accept the open head-coaching position at UCLA.

One coach told Football Scoop that "[i]t's dead quiet" at UCLA as they await word from Kelly. Multiple reports earlier in the day have Florida -- considered to be the other leading candidate for Kelly's services -- moving on to focus on other options beyond the former Oregon coach, with UCF's Scott Frost looking like their top target at this juncture. They will reportedly meet with Frost this weekend. As for when Kelly plans on making his decision, CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd reported earlier in the week that he'll make his choice by Sunday.

Buffalo redshirt sophomore QB Tyree Jackson completed 19-of-30 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Fridday's regular-season finale win against Ohio.

The Bulls were in dire straits (3-6 overall, 1-3 conference) heading into the Bowling Green game, but they rattled off three straight wins to gain bowl eligibility. Jackson was able to return from a knee injury which knocked him out of the FAU game in September, and that was a huge part of their return to form. Buffalo will be a dangerous team heading into bowl season, as they're on quite the roll.
Nov 24 - 5:34 PM

Following Friday's 31-24 loss to Buffalo, Ohio HC Frank Solich said that redshirt junior RB A.J. Ouellette suffered an "extensive" shoulder injury in the defeat.

Per Solich, Ouellette will likely miss the Bobcats' bowl game next month due to the shoulder injury. The Athens Messenger's Jason Arkley speculated during the game that the redshirt junior was potentially dealing with a strained or separated shoulder. Assuming this injury does, indeed, sideline him for bowl action, Ouellette finishes the current season having rushed for 985 yards and seven touchdowns.
Nov 24 - 4:51 PM

Baylor freshman QB Charlie Brewer suffered a separated shoulder in the fourth quarter of Friday's 45-22 loss to TCU.

Brewer had been playing quite well prior to sustaining the injury, throwing for 301 yards, two touchdowns and an interception before exiting stage left. Zach Smith subsequently took over for him at quarterback. With the Bears finishing with a 1-11 record and long-ago eliminated from bowl contention, Brewer will have plenty of time to get right before spring practice. His exact timetable to return to team activities will be ironed out in the coming days and weeks.
Nov 24 - 4:44 PM

TCU signed HC Gary Patterson to a contract extension through the 2024 season.

It's been a very, very nice Thanksgiving weekend for Patterson, who had just led TCU to a berth in the Big 12 Championship Game against Oklahoma next weekend courtesy of a 45-22 win over Baylor on Friday when the extension was announced. His previous contract had been set to expire following the 2022 season. Monetary terms attached to the new deal have not yet been disclosed.
