Georgia senior LB Ramik Wilson is sitting out practice after he "got a little banged up in the head."

The quote comes from Reggie Carter, who has stepped into Wilson's starting spot in the meantime. "Georgia hasn't confirmed Wilson sustained a concussion," beat writer Marc Weiszer said. Many media evaluators have placed Wilson as their top senior inside linebacker heading into the season.

West Virginia junior WR David Sills hauled in seven passes for 136 yards with three touchdowns in a 38-36 victory over Baylor on Saturday.

What a season this has been for Sills (6'4/203). It's not only the fourth time in a row that he's caught at least two touchdowns in a game, it's the second-straight time he's found the end zone three times. He and Mountaineers' quarterback Will Grier have obvious chemistry, and Sills is just about uncoverable in the red zone. Don't be surprised if Sills scores two or more times again next week against Oklahoma State.
Oct 22 - 12:17 AM

West Virginia redshirt junior QB Will Grier completed 26-of-37 passes for 375 yards and five scores in a 38-36 victory over Baylor on Saturday.

Grier (6'2/215) dominated the Baylor defense on Saturday, which is no surprise considering how good he is, and how the Bears are not. He found wideout David Sills V for three of his scores, with Marcus Simms and Ka'Raun White hauling in the other two touchdown passes. West Virginia and their Heisman-contending quarterback will have a marquee offensive matchup next week against Oklahoma State.
Oct 22 - 12:15 AM

TCU redshirt senior QB Kenny Hill completed 19-of-26 passes for 278 yards and five touchdowns in Saturday's 43-0 win over Kansas.

The Jayhawks made Hill's life a living you-know-what last season, but he vanquished those demons with a sensational performance on Saturday. The redshirt senior gunslinger has been very much a hot/cold quarterback this year, with three games of at least four touchdown passes and four with one or no scoring tosses. Mattering far more for the Horned Frogs in their Playoff quest than Hill's touchdown work, the fact that the quarterback has thrown just three interceptions this season after being plagued by turnover issues a year ago. TCU will look to improve to 8-0 when they travel to Ames for a date with Iowa State next weekend.
Oct 22 - 12:14 AM

LSU junior RB Derrius Guice rushed for 276 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Saturday's 40-24 win over Ole Miss.

With the 276 yards rushing, Guice became the only player in SEC history with three career games of 250-plus on the ground. This performance was a welcome one for the Tigers and the junior, himself, as he has been limited by injury at times this season and had not surpassed 100 yards rushing since Week 2. As much as we love Guice's upside, we're not banking on back-to-back 100-yard showings -- LSU is off on bye next weekend before they must make the dark trudge to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama.
Oct 21 - 11:38 PM

Notre Dame redshirt sophomore QB Brandon Wimbush completed 9-of-19 passes for 120 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 106 yards and two additional scores in Saturday's 49-14 throttling of USC.

Wimbush got things off to a roaring start for the Irish with two touchdown passes in the first quarter. Small-scale passing pyrotechnics out of the way, the redshirt sophomore would mostly do his damage as a runner the rest of the game. He would turn in rushing touchdowns in the second and third quarters as the Irish kept their foot on USC's throat. This was Wimbush's third game of 100 yards rushing on the year. Just how far Notre Dame can go with an essentially limited passing game remains to be seen, but we love what the Irish offer on the ground, we love the way their defense has played and they now stand as a legitimate Playoff contender. Their only loss this year was a one-point defeat at the hands of currently undefeated Georgia in early September.
Oct 21 - 11:22 PM

Notre Dame junior RB Josh Adams rushed for 191 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in Saturday's 49-14 obliteration of USC.

Quite the statement game by the Irish in this one. Adams scored on a short run in the second quarter and another in the fourth, but it was his 84-yard scoring dash in the third quarter which will make the evening highlight reels. That gallop made the score 42-14 and essentially ended the game with a quarter still remaining on the clock. There's been low simmering Heisman talk surrounding Adams of late and that is probably going to reach a boil this week. For the campaign, the 6-foot-1, 212-pound junior has rushed for 967 yards and eight touchdowns in seven games while averaging over 9.0 YPC. Five of those contests have seen him rush for at least 100 yards.
Oct 21 - 11:14 PM

Penn State redshirt junior QB Trace McSorley ran for three scores and 76 yards and passed for 282 yards and another score in a 42-13 rout of Michigan on Saturday.

McSorley (6'0/195) struggled with accuracy in the first half, but really turned things on from the third quarter on, particularly with his legs. His three-yard score gave the Nittany Lions a 21-13 lead just before halftime, and his 13 and 9-yard scores in the second half all but put the Wolverines away. Even on a night where he didn't have his best accuracy, McSorley was able to make a difference. Ohio State comes next for he and Penn State.
Oct 21 - 11:10 PM

Penn State junior RB Saquon Barkley ran for 108 yards and two scores on 15 carries, and caught three passes for 53 yards and a score in a 42-13 destruction of Michigan on Saturday.

Barkley started out red hot, going over 100 yards in the first quarter and scoring twice from 69 and 15 yards, respectfully. From that point, Barkley was relatively held in check, but the damage had been done. He checked in with a 42-yard score in the passing game in the fourth from Trace McSorley to make it 35-13 Nittany Lions early in the fourth. Once again, Barkley looked like one of -- maybe even the -- best players in college football. Penn State has a must-see matchup next week against Ohio State.
Oct 21 - 11:03 PM

Kansas State redshirt sophomore Alex Delton completed 12-of-14 passes for 144 yards and a score, and ran 27 times for 142 yards and three scores in a 42-35 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

Delton (6'0/195) was starting in place of Jesse Ertz at quarterback, but you'd never know Delton was the backup watching him play on Saturday. Some of that had to do with Oklahoma's defense being not-so-great, but Delton was able to run past and through the Oklahoma front seven, and while he didn't throw the ball deep often, he was accurate and kept the chains moving. Delton will be behind center again for the Wildcats next week against the awful Kansas defense.
Oct 21 - 8:22 PM

Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield completed 32-of-41 passes for 410 yards with a two touchdowns and interception, and ran for 69 yards and two scores in a thrilling 42-35 victory over Kansas State on Saturday.

This was a doozy of a football game. Mayfield and the Oklahoma offense struggled in the first-half, but were up to the task in the second against the Wildcats. He impressed with his legs, scoring from 16 and three yards out, respectfully. Even in a struggle in the first half, the 6-foot, 220-pound signal-caller showed his accuracy and ability to improvise. Expect another shootout for the Sooners and Mayfield next week against Texas Tech.
Oct 21 - 8:13 PM

Miami redshirt junior QB Malik Rosier completed 26-of-43 passes for 344 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 27-19 victory over Syracuse.

Rosier and the Hurricanes have made this down-to-the-wire win thing old hat. After knocking off Florida State and Georgia Tech the past two weeks on last-second plays, they held off a late charge by Syracuse to remain undefeated today. Miami (6-0, 4-0 ACC), sitting atop the ACC Coastal Division, has now won 11 straight games going back to last year. The Hurricanes travel to Chapel Hill next week to take on a bad North Carolina team. Two landmines remain on the schedule: Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. Luckily, both games are in Coral Gables.
