Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield won the Davey O'Brien Award on Thursday.

The award goes to the best quarterback in college football. Mayfield beat out Ohio State's J.T. Barrett, and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph. This will likely not be the last award Mayfield wins on Thursday -- he's got a good shot at the Maxwell -- and there's a strong chance that he takes home another big award on Saturday by the name of Heisman. The senior signal-caller has thrown for 4,340 yards with a 45/5 TD/INT ratio this season and will be seen next in the Rose Bowl when they take on Georgia in a Playoff semifinal on New Year's Eve for the right to advance to the National Championship Game.

Washington senior RB Myles Gaskin (shoulder) will play in Saturday's game against Colorado.

This was expected as offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan mentioned earlier in the week that he expected Gaskin to play. Gaskin was injured against UCLA and played sparingly last week against Oregon. He and backup RB Salvon Ahmed should both play a big role in this one against the Buffs.

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Washington.

Shenault (6'2/220) was banged up in last weekend's loss to USC. His absence on Saturday is a huge one. The sophomore wideout has been as good as any receiver in the country this season, having caught 60 passes for 780 yards and six touchdowns. With Jay MacIntyre (concussion) also ruled out, CU will be dealing with an exceedingly thin receiving corp versus the Huskies. K.D. Nixon is going to have to carry the receiving load, here.

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) has been downgraded to doubtful for Saturday's game at Washington.

Shenault (6'2/220) has been a critical member of Colorado's offensive attack due to his big-play ability, and his absence would have a noticeable impact on the game plan. The sophomore, who's caught 60 passes for 780 yards and six touchdowns, has 31 more receptions than Colorado's second-best receiver (K.D. Nixon) and leads the team with 11 total touchdowns.
Oct 20 - 2:59 PM

Michigan State senior WR Felton Davis III was carted off of the field after suffering an apparent lower left leg injury during the second quarter of Saturday's game against Michigan.

Davis (6'4/203) was untouched when he went down after running a couple steps, immediately grabbing his leg around the ankle area. The senior remained down on the turf before trainers called for a cart. With Davis being a critical option at wide receiver (a position that's been hit hard by injuries) for both his productivity and leadership, if he were to be sidelined for an extended period of time that would be a major hit for the Michigan State offense to absorb.
Oct 20 - 2:49 PM

Texas Tech freshman QB Alan Bowman (lung) took part in pregame warmups and appears set to make his return for Saturday's game against Kansas.

Bowman, who was working with starting C Paul Stawarz during pregame, did suit up for Texas Tech's October 11 win over TCU but did not play. The freshman, who replaced the injured McLane Carter during Texas Tech's season-opening loss to Ole Miss, has completed 69.3 percent of his passes and thrown for 1,680 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions this season.
Oct 20 - 2:43 PM

Middle Tennessee senior QB Brent Stockstill (ankle) was in uniform for warmups ahead of Saturday's game against Charlotte.

Stockstill, who went through warmups with his left ankle heavily taped, was listed as questionable for Saturday's game. Should the senior not be able to return to action, Asher O'Hara would be in line to run the Middle Tennessee offense. Stockstill, who's completed 67.7 percent of his passes and thrown for 1,327 yards, ten touchdowns and three interceptions this season, left Middle Tennessee's October 13 loss at FIU in the first half after injuring his left ankle.
Oct 20 - 2:33 PM

Wisconsin senior NT Olive Sagapolu will not return to Saturday's game against Illinois due to a left leg injury.

Not only does Wisconsin lose its best defensive lineman as a result of Sagapolu's (6'2/342) injury, but he's also their most experienced option. As a result of the senior's injury freshman Bryson Williams, listed as the backup on Wisconsin's depth chart, stands to see a lot of action in the second half. Sagapolu's status for Wisconsin's October 27 game against Northwestern is something to keep an eye on next week.
Oct 20 - 2:21 PM

Virginia senior RB Jordan Ellis left Saturday's game at Duke with an apparent left ankle injury.

It should be noted that Ellis (5'10/225) was able to walk off the field under his own power after being looked at by team trainers, so he could very well return for the second half. The senior starter was solid during the first half, rushing for 55 yards on 12 carries, and if he's unable to return Virginia would be taking a major hit in the run game. Sophomore PK Kier and Lamont Atkins were listed behind Ellis on Virginia's depth chart ahead of Saturday's game, but neither had a carry in the first half.
Oct 20 - 2:06 PM

Liberty junior WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (mono) will play in Saturday's game against Idaho State.

This according to Buckshot Calvert's father, Steve. Gandy-Golden (6'4/220) was ruled out earlier this week with mono, but he has apparently made a swift recovery to reverse that ruling. Gandy-Golden, the Flames' best player, leads the team with 32 receptions, 497 receiving yards and five touchdowns despite missing last week's game. He's a good-looking NFL prospect to monitor.

FOX announced that the Michigan and Michigan State game will resume from weather delay at 1:52 EST.

The teams completed a bit over nine minutes of game play in the first quarter before lightning sent both squads into the locker room. We waited, waited and waited some more, but now FOX is saying the game will resume within the hour. Michigan State is allowing fans to re-enter the stadium as we speak.
Oct 20 - 1:29 PM

Liberty junior WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (mono) is warming up and available to play in Saturday's game against Idaho State.

Unexpected development here, and great news for the Flames. Two days ago, Gandy-Golden was ruled out for the game. But perhaps he's made great strides in his recovery from mono in the past 48 hours. Gandy-Golden isn't out of the woods yet. He'll only play if warmups go well. Stay tuned.
