One AFC scout handed a Day 3 grade to Oklahoma TE Mark Andrews, calling the Sooner "a big slot receiver."

"He won't block at all so what do you have other than a big slot who is an average athlete?," the scout adds. This might be a bit harsh. We don't exactly know Andrews' ability inline since he rarely played there, and he did constantly win mismatches in the slot and outside, even creating yards after the catch with choppy footwork. The scout could absolutely be correct, but we think destroying a prospect for something he wasn't asked to do is a bit harsh.

Jake Trotter of ESPN reports that Kansas State will not block redshirt senior QB Alex Delton from transferring to TCU.

There was speculation today that TCU could look to prevent Delton from heading to the conference rival, similar to how Oklahoma is reportedly blocking quarterback Austin Kendall from heading to West Virginia. The Wildcats will instead let the redshirt senior head to Texas Christian for his final season, and he should battle for the starting quarterback spot this spring/summer.

Newly hired DC Ted Monachino is leaving Kansas State for the Chicago Bears.

Well, that was short lived. The Jayhawks hired Monachino from Missouri to be their new defensive coordinator after spending 2018 with the Tigers as a defensive analyst, but instead he'll join Chuck Pagano's defensive staff in the NFL. The Wildcats will have to look elsewhere for their DC.

Alabama junior DE LaBryan Ray was arrested for public intoxication this past Friday.

Ray (6'5/294) was arrested after he refused to leave a Tuscaloosa establishment. When authorities arrived, they determined that he was intoxicated. This past season, the defensive end appeared in all 15 of Alabama's games while registering 39 tackles (6.0 for loss) and 2.5 sacks along the way. It remains to be seen what kind of punishment will be coming down the pike as a result of Ray's arrest. He will be competing for a starting role during the upcoming campaign assuming that he doesn't get pushed too far back into HC Nick Saban's doghouse.

Thomas Mars, the lawyer for Ohio State sophomore QB Justin Fields, said that he is "very confident" that the NCAA will approve the quarterback's waiver for immediate eligibility.

In a statement to the Columbus Dispatch, Mars said that "there's more to [the waiver case]" than has been speculated on social media. The main angle which has consistently been brought up in relation to Fields relates to a racial slur which was directed at him by a former Georgia baseball player during the 2018 season. Fields' transfer to Ohio State in early January has already caused a ripple effect, with Tate Martell transferring over to Miami on Tuesday night.

Appalachian State RB Jalin Moore (ankle) has not been medically cleared to participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy said that Moore wanted to play in the game, but sadly, it won't be in the cards. His body just isn't ready for that kind of rigor at this juncture. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder continues to rehab from the fractured, dislocated ankle he sustained against Arkansas State back in October. With the Senior Bowl no longer on the table, Moore's next theoretical stop in the draft process will come at the NFL Scouting Combine. Even if he is unable to participate in drills in Indianapolis, at the very least, NFL teams will have a chance to dig in with his medical checks.

Jim Nagy, executive director of the Reese's Senior Bowl, said that Kentucky LB Josh Allen's omission from the roster was not due to an injury.

According to Nagy, Allen simply "decided not to come" to the Senior Bowl. We'll no doubt see a little bit of grumbling from some NFL teams, but his decision to sit out the premier postseason evaluation contest doesn't figure to have any lingering consequence in terms of his draft slot. The Athletic's Dane Brugler ranks Allen as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2019 draft class.

Alabama senior QB Jalen Hurts transferred to Oklahoma as a graduate.

Hurts (6'2/218) announced his transfer via The Players' Tribune. Maryland, Miami, TCU and Auburn were among the other programs which had been batted around as potential landing spots for the graduate gunslinger. This move is a fascinating one in our eyes, as we'll have a chance to see how OU HC Lincoln Riley adapts his offense without a top-flight passer taking snaps. The passing drop-off from Baker Mayfield/Kyler Murray to Hurts is a steep one, though for what it's worth, the 6-foot-2, 218-pounder did show off a little more accuracy than we were accustomed to seeing from him while playing in backup duty behind Tua Tagovailoa this past season. Hurts completed 72.9% of his 70 attempts in 2018. He won SEC Offensive Player of the Year after bursting onto the scene as a true freshman in 2016 and subsequently started for almost the entirety of Alabama's 2017 title run, right up until Tagovailoa replaced him in the second half of the championship game against Georgia and on into 2018.

Florida State redshirt senior WR George Campbell has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Campbell (6'4/207) enrolled at Florida State as a five-star recruit in the 2015 class, but his career in Tallahassee never really came together, due in part to a deluge of injuries which limited him to just 13 total games played. This past season, Campbell caught four passes for 42 yards while appearing in two contests. There's not much to bank on, here, beyond his recruiting profile, but Campbell's earlier reputation could help him to land in a nice spot (assuming he goes through with a transfer) as he tries to put together a soft landing to what's been a turbulent ride.

247Sports' Brendan Sonnone reports that Florida State redshirt sophomore QB James Blackman has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Blackman (6'5/181) started one game during the 2018 campaign, but managed to stay under the four-game threshold required to retain a redshirt for the season when all was said and done. Had Deondre Francois opted in for the NFL Draft earlier this winter, it's possible and logical that Blackman would have simply stayed put in Tallahassee. Francois instead decided to return to school, more or less forcing the redshirt sophomore's hand. Blackman received extensive run as starter after Francois went down with a knee injury in the 2017 opener against Alabama. In 12 games that season, he threw for 2,230 yards (58.2-percent completions) with a 19/11 TD/INT ratio.

ESPN's Jake Trotter reports that Oklahoma is blocking redshirt junior QB Austin Kendall from transferring to West Virginia with immediate eligibility as a graduate.

Not the best of looks for the Sooners, here, as they have been seriously linked to Alabama grad transfer Jalen Hurts over the last week-plus. Kendall has already graduated from OU, but because he would be transferring within the Big 12, they still possess the ultimate say as to whether he would receive immediate eligibility for the 2019 season at West Virginia. A year ago, we saw the SEC switch up its rules to allow graduate transfers to move within the conference whilst automatically retaining immediate eligibility. No such conference-wide move appears imminent for the Big 12, but we'll see if Oklahoma backs down now that this story has been reported on the national wire.

UConn hired Alabama defensive analyst Lou Spanos to serve as defensive coordinator.

Spanos worked in an off-field capacity with the Crimson Tide this past season, but has prior experience as a defensive coordinator, having served in that role at UCLA from 2012-13. He will have a monumental task ahead of him at UConn upcoming -- this past season, the Huskies fielded a flaming garbage pit of a defense, one which surrendered 50.4 points per game.
