USC indefinitely suspended sophomore WR Joseph Lewis following his arrest on a domestic violence charge on Monday.

The exact details of the events that led to the arrest have yet to surface, but Lewis is being charged with what an LAPD spokesman termed a 273.5 (a) PC charge. This charge is levied in assault cases where there is a noticeably visible injury on a spouse or cohabitant. It's a felony charge that carries with it up to four years jail time. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound sophomore -- a five-star recruit in the 2017 class -- has been released on bail and is scheduled to next appear in court on March 6, actually the first day of spring practice for the Trojans. Lewis played just a minor role for USC this past season but is likely in line for increased looks during the upcoming campaign, at least if he's able to find resolution in what's a serious legal case.

Michigan State redshirt junior QB Brian Lewerke said that he's dealing with a shoulder injury.

Lewerke was as bad as bad could be against Michigan on Saturday, hitting on just 5-of-25 passes for 66 yards in the 21-7 loss while ultimately being replaced by Rocky Lombardi in the fourth quarter. After the defeat, the redshirt junior said that he had injured his shoulder against Penn State last weekend. This would explain why he failed to practice during the lead-up to the UM game. Spartans HC Mark Dantonio reaffirmed after Saturday's contest that Lewerke remains his starter, though his health will tell the tale as to whether or not he's able to give it a go against Purdue next weekend. Lombardi would start in that spot if Lewerke can't play.

Memphis junior RB Darrell Henderson (undisclosed) is unlikely to return to Saturday's game against Missouri.

That's the official word from the Tigers. Henderson (5'9/200) was forced out of the game and into the locker room after sustaining an undisclosed injury in the first half. With Missouri up 48-20 on the scoreboard early in the third quarter, it looks like the team will take a precautionary approach to the electric junior. We'll pass along an update on Henderson's status moving forward as information becomes available.
Oct 20 - 6:28 PM

Vanderbilt redshirt junior RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn (undisclosed) will not play in Saturday's game at Kentucky due to injury.

Vaughn, who left Vanderbilt's October 13 loss to Florida due to an undisclosed injury, was expected to play but ultimately did not even travel with the team to Lexington. As a result of the redshirt junior's absence Khari Blasingame and Jamauri Wakefield, who have split time in the backfield with Vaughn, will be Vanderbilt's top options at running back Saturday night.
Oct 20 - 6:15 PM

FAU junior RB Devin Singletary rushed 16 times for just 39 yards in Saturday's 31-7 loss at Marshall and he was held out of the end zone for the first time in 19 games.

The last time Singletary failed to get into the end zone came in the opener on Sept. 1, 2017 against Navy, a span of 19 straight games. Motor has piled up 46 rushing scores and one more receiving touchdown over the past 20 contests, but the Thundering Herd certainly bottled him up tight in this one. Singletary and the Owls will look to get back on track on a short week against Louisiana Tech on Friday night in Boca Raton.
Oct 20 - 6:11 PM

Michigan junior RB Karan Higdon rushed for 139 yards on 32 carries in Saturday's 21-7 win over Michigan State.

Fantastic work once more from Higdon. He's been as solid as they come this season, with Saturday's output marking his sixth game over 100 yards rushing on the campaign. He's hit that number in every game since the opener against Notre Dame. For the year as a whole, now, the 5-foot-10, 202-pound junior has gone off for 826 yards and six touchdowns. Higdon and crew will be on bye next weekend, and will play Penn State on Nov. 3 coming out of the break.
Oct 20 - 5:12 PM

Temple redshirt sophomore QB Anthony Russo completed 20-of-41 passes for 237 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in Saturday's 24-17 overtime win over No. 20 Cincinnati.

Russo (6'4/230) led the Owls on a seven-play, 75-yard touchdown drive with 49 seconds remaining to force overtime. In OT, Russo threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Wright, which was the final score of the game. It was a gutsy performance for the redshirt sophomore, but it certainly wasn't a clean game highlighted by the three interceptions. These growing pains are to be expected with an unexperienced quarterback, but Temple should be stoked to have a three game winning streak and to have a quarterback capable of moving the ball down the field. Russo will get a tough test against UCF on Thursday, November 1st.
Oct 20 - 5:11 PM

Tennessee redshirt sophomore QB Jarrett Guarantano was helped off the field after taking a big hit during the second quarter of Saturday's game against Alabama.

Guarantano struggled for much of his time on the field prior to the hit, which was to be expected given the quality of Alabama's defense. The redshirt sophomore, whose return has not been ruled out, was replaced in the lineup by graduate student Keller Chryst. Chryst, who previously played at Stanford, led Tennessee on a drive that was capped by the Volunteers' first touchdown on the game.
Oct 20 - 5:05 PM

Syracuse redshirt freshman QB Tommy DeVito came in off the bench to complete 11-of-19 passes for 181 yards, three touchdown and an interception in Saturday's 40-37 double-overtime victory over UNC.

DeVito was summoned off the bench in a huge spot, with Syracuse trailing 27-20 with a mere 5:07 left. He hit Nykeim Johnson for a 42-yard equalizer with only 1:39 left to force overtime. DeVito then threw a pair of touchdowns in extra time to knock off UNC. The importance of this win cannot be understated for Syracuse. They now are a heavy, heavy favorite to return to bowl season. If they'd lost this game, they likely would have had under a 50% chance to secure the two wins they would have needed to qualify over the remainder of the schedule. As beat writer Stephen Bailey tweeted during the game, "Donovan McNabb once won the starting job against UNC..." DeVito likely just did the same.
Oct 20 - 4:53 PM

Ohio junior QB Nathan Rourke completed 8-of-12 passes for 193 yards with four touchdowns and ran for 101 yards and a score in a 49-14 shellacking of Bowling Green on Saturday.

Very impressive. Rourke didn't show any of the ill effects that limited him in the loss to Northern Illinois last week, and the 6-foot-2, 208-pound signal-caller showed off his impressive improvisational skills on the ground, as well. Simply put, when Rourke is healthy and doesn't turn the ball over, he's as good as any Group of Five quarterback in the country. Ohio will take on Ball State on Thursday.
Oct 20 - 4:49 PM

Syracuse senior WR Jamal Custis caught seven passes for 162 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 40-37 double-overtime victory over UNC.

Monster game for Custis (6'5/213), and he saved the best for last, hauling in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Tommy DeVito down the sideline on Syracuse' second play of the first overtime. A longtime tease, Custis is finally making good on his talent. He's posted a 32-592-4 line during Syracuse's 5-2 start. The Orange host NC State next week.
Oct 20 - 4:45 PM

Michigan State redshirt freshman QB Rocky Lombardi replaced ineffective starter Brian Lewerke during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against Michigan.

There wasn't much time remaining in the game when Lombardi got his opportunity to lead the Michigan State offense, so HC Mark Dantonio's decision to make a change may not impact much moving forward. That being said, Lombardi replaced a quarterback in Lewerke who was 5-for-25 passing for a paltry 66 yards.
