NFL Media's Mike Mayock moved Maryland's D.J. Moore up to WR No. 2.

As usual with these updates, Mayock does not offer reasoning. That will come later on television hits. But the jump up from No. 5 to No. 2 absolutely is noteworthy, as it shows the impact Moore made at the NFL Combine. Every year, Mayock is the closest at setting his board in relation to how picks are made during the draft, so we will be monitoring Moore's continued rise.

Football Scoop's Zach Barnett reports that Austin Peay will hire Mississippi State TE coach Mark Hudspeth to serve as head coach.

Hudspeth joined Joe Moorhead's inaugural staff at Mississippi State after he was fired from the head position at Louisiana following the 2017 campaign. The Austin Peay job came open after Will Healy jumped for the lead job at Charlotte earlier this winter. This will be Hudspeth's third career stint as a head coach. He earlier served in that capacity at North Alabama (2002-08) and, as aforementioned, Louisiana (2011-17).

North Carolina has hired Ole Miss OC Phil Longo to serve in the same capacity.

The Air Raid is coming to Raleigh, after all. A few days after reportedly trying to get Graham Harrell to come be the new offensive coordinator from North Texas, the Tar Heels instead get Longo, who helped the Rebels put up some of the better passing numbers in the SEC. Prior to joining the Rebels, he was at Sam Houston State, where he implemented the "power" Air Raid system that you'll likely see at North Carolina. This is a strong get for UNC that should help in recruiting while also helping the 2019 team put up some points.

UCLA redshirt sophomore WR Britain Covey underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL and meniscus.

Covey suffered the injury in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Washington while returning the opening kickoff of the second half. It was described as a significant injury by head coach Kyle Wittingham, and we now know how significant it was. He finished with a line of 59-611-1 over the 2018 season, but that doesn't begin to justify how big a part of the offense Covey was; he was one of the top targets on third down and also was involved in several gadget plays. He'll be out for spring practices, and there's a very good chance he might not be ready to play at the start of the 2019 season.
Dec 11 - 2:07 PM

Houston senior QB Quinten Dormady is transferring to Central Michigan.

Because he's leaving with his degree, he'll be eligible to play immediately. It's the second transfer in as many years for Dormady, who came to Houston after leaving Tennessee this June. He appeared in just one game, completing 2-of-5 passes in a blowout victory over Arizona in the second week of the season. He should compete for the starting job, and it would make sense to make him the favorite.
Dec 11 - 10:50 AM

Memphis HC Mike Norvell tweeted that he'll remain the head coach at Memphis.

A busy day for fans of the Tigers. Norvell was considered a strong candidate for the job at Kansas State, but he tweeted that he's staying at Memphis. The Tigers did lose their offensive and defensive coordinators on Monday, but Norvell is staying on board, and that gives them a chance to remain a strong contender in the AAC.
Dec 10 - 5:13 PM

Texas Tech junior WR Antoine Wesley declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Wesley put up monster numbers for the Red Raiders in 2019, catching 88 passes for 1,410 yards and nine scores. He's also listed at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, so that size is sure to intrigue scouts. The questions will come from the production in the Air Raid system, but that's no longer a prospect death sentence. A scouting report from The Draft Network also notes that he needs to show more lateral quickness, and his route-running can be inconsistent. In his tweet announcing his selection, he said he got positive reviews from the NFL Draft Advisory Board, so if Wesley tests well, he'll have a chance to be among the first wideouts selected; possibly even a first-round target because of his size and production.
Dec 10 - 4:35 PM

West Virginia received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 JUCO CB Dreshun Miller, who had previously been committed to LSU.

Miller committed to LSU back in June, but with the Tigers reportedly pursuing several other cornerbacks, the 6-foot-2, 178-pound corner is making the switch to the Mountaineers. He currently plays at Eastern Arizona Community College, and he's viewed as one of the top defenders in the junior college ranks. Don't be surprised if Miller contributes immediately for the Mountaineers.
Dec 10 - 3:36 PM

Five-star DE Nolan Smith confirmed his commitment to Georgia.

Smith was rumored as a top prospect -- and by top prospect, we're talking about possibly the top prospect in the country -- that could flip, but he announced on Monday that he was "staying home" for the Bulldogs. It's a massive recommitment for Georgia, especially after several top prospects did make a switch from the school to various programs. Signing day is still a bit away, but it sure seems like Smith is going to be playing in Athens.
Dec 10 - 2:28 PM

Ole Miss junior T Gregory Little declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Little (6'6/325) was viewed as one of the best tackle prospects in the class coming into the year, and he didn't do much to change that opinion. He's considered a strong athlete, and reports have indicated that he's made improvements with his footwork and technique to help as a pass-blocker in 2018. He'll have to test well in order to be so, but Little profiles as a first-round pick, with a decent chance of being the first tackle off the board in 2019. ESPN's Todd McShay currently grades Little as the eighth best player on his board, so top-ten consideration is certainly possible.
Dec 10 - 2:22 PM

Oklahoma redshirt junior QB Kyler Murray was named a first-team Associated Press All-American on Monday.

It's not as good as the Heisman Trophy -- what is? -- but this is another nice honor for the quarterback. Ten players were elected first-team players from teams that will be playing in the College Football Playoff, and Alabama led all teams with six players selected over the three different levels. The full list of selections can be viewed in the link below.

Dec 10 - 12:31 PM

Georgia received a verbal commitment from five-star 2019 C Clay Webb.

Webb made the decision on Monday, picking the Bulldogs over Alabama, Auburn and Clemson. It's a tremendous get for the Bulldogs, as Webb ranks as the top center in the class, and ranks 22nd overall in 247 Sports composite rankings. You can't guarantee young players playing immediately, but reports indicate that the 6-foot-3, 295-pound center could be ready to roll immediately. Georgia has the third ranked class in the country now according to 247 Sports, and there are several more big-name players considering the Bulldogs.
