Auburn and North Carolina are scheduled to play one of three Chick-fil-A Kickoff Games in 2020 season.

The other two contests in this Chick-fil-A set for 2020 -- it will stretch out over a week -- are previously-announced showdowns of West Virginia versus Florida State and Georgia versus Virginia. This contest between Auburn and North Carolina will be played on Sept. 12 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. UNC owns a 4-2 edge all-time in this series, though five of the six matchups were played prior to 1990. They last played when UNC eked out a 16-10 win in the 2001 Peach Bowl, so it's been a hot minute.

UNLV redshirt sophomore QB Armani Rogers rushed for 181 yards and a touchdown while completing 5-of-21 passes for 23 yards and three interceptions in Saturday's 27-20 loss to Arkansas State.

Rogers (6'5/225) was essentially unstoppable as a runner, but even with his transcendent performance rushing, his mistakes proved incredibly costly. Most notably, he was picked off on UNLV's second-to-last possession of the game to put the Rebels in a major crunch late. The team ultimately turned the ball over on downs on its final possession. Rogers had actually done a nice job protecting the ball as a passer prior to this letdown, as he entered action on Saturday having thrown just one pick against six touchdown passes. His passing is just window dressing in this offense, and the redshirt sophomore has been nothing short of dynamite when tucking and running this season. His 181-yard performance versus Arkansas State marked a season high in rushing yardage, as well as his third consecutive game of at least 100 yards on the ground. UNLV will be off on bye next weekend, with a home showdown against New Mexico State showing next on the schedule after the team resumes play.

Oklahoma redshirt junior QB Kyler Murray completed 11-of-15 passes for 165 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in Saturday's 28-21 overtime win over Army.

With just seconds remaining, Oklahoma missed what would have been a game winning 33-yard field goal which forced overtime. On the first OT possession, Murray found CeeDee Lamb for a touchdown, and the Sooners defense got an interception to end the nail biter. Army was able to slow down the Oklahoma offense by keeping it's defense fresh; the Knights held the ball for over 44 minutes. Murray didn't put up huge numbers, but he was quite efficient through the air (11.0 YPA) and on the ground (10.1 YPC with a rushing TD). This was not a pretty game for OU, but they should be happy to at least pull away with a win. With this game behind them, the Sooners bring their 4-0 record into next Saturday's game against Baylor.
Sep 22 - 10:15 PM

Southern Miss redshirt junior QB Jack Abraham completed 25-of-34 passes for 428 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Saturday's 40-22 win over Rice.

While Kwadra Griggs is back from suspension, Abraham was rewarded with Saturday's start on the strength of what he's done early in the season. He more than made good on that decision from HC Jay Hopson, ripping the Owls for a pair of touchdowns in the first half and a pair in the second half. In three games this season -- remember, Southern Miss and Appalachian State had their game nixed due to Hurricane Florence -- Abraham has thrown for 1,048 yards with a 10/3 TD/INT ratio. He's topped 375 yards passing in each of his last two contests and (assuming he starts over Griggs again) will try for more of the same against Auburn next Saturday. For obvious reasons, that one figures to be a bit more trying for the redshirt junior.
Sep 22 - 10:07 PM

Syracuse senior QB Eric Dungey completed 21-of-27 passes for 286 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 51-21 win against UConn and he added 16 runs for 77 yards and three more scores.

Dungey, who left last week's game due to blurred vision, certainly was seeing things clearly in this one. He has managed 763 passing yards with nine touchdowns and just one interception while rolling up 354 yards on the ground with four rushing TDs in parts of four games so far. The Oregon native will see his biggest test of the season next Saturday when he leads the Orange into Death Valley to take on Clemson.
Sep 22 - 8:26 PM

Alabama sophomore QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 22-of-30 passes for 387 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for an additional score in Saturday's 45-23 win over Texas A&M.

Tagovailoa (6'1/218) threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half -- also when he notched his one-yard scoring run -- as Alabama dominated their fourth consecutive game to open the campaign. This was the sophomore signal-caller's biggest statistical showing of the young season, but he's been ripping it up all month as he's solidified his standing as frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy. Through four games played, Tagovailoa has now passed for 1,033 yards with a 12/0 TD/INT ratio. For reference's sake, Jalen Hurts threw a total of 17 touchdown passes in 14 games last season. We're just getting started, here: Alabama's next four games will be played against defensive nothings in UL-Lafayette, Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee. That stretch will get them all the way to their Nov. 3 showdown with LSU.
Sep 22 - 8:25 PM

Michigan State senior RB LJ Scott was unable to play in Saturday's game against Indiana due to an undisclosed injury.

Scott suited up for pregame warmups, but ultimately the decision was made that he would not be able to play. The senior has now missed Michigan State's last two games, and Connor Heyward replaced him in the starting lineup.
Sep 22 - 8:15 PM

Arizona sophomore QB Khalil Tate completed 9-of-17 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns, while being credited with negative rushing yardage in Saturday's 35-14 win over Oregon State.

One of the more puzzling developments this season is the almost complete lack of any kind of rushing output from Tate. The sophomore signal-caller ended Saturday's game credited with -9 yards rushing, and his season-long tally on the ground through four games is just 32 yards. Remember, Tate ripped it up for 1,411 yards and 12 touchdowns rushing last year. We'll see if he can get things revved up at home against USC next weekend, but with the way this offense is being run, we're not holding our breaths.
Sep 22 - 7:59 PM

Texas junior WR Collin Johnson snared seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown in a 31-16 victory over TCU on Saturday.

This is the breakout game we’ve been waiting for. Johnson hasn’t been bad over the first three weeks, but he’s been mostly held in check compared to his impressive sophomore season. He wasn’t held in check today. Sam Ehlinger hit him on a 45 yard pass, but the most impressive plays was a brilliant diving catch from 31-yards out that gave the Longhorns their 17-16 lead. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound junior also made several players that set up scores and moved the chains in the upset victory. Another big game should be in stow for Johnson against Kansas State next Saturday.
Sep 22 - 7:58 PM

Old Dominion redshirt sophomore QB Blake LaRussa completed 30-of-49 passes for 495 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 49-35 upset against Virginia Tech and he also rushed for a score.

The Monarchs entered as underdogs at home by more than four touchdowns, and they were 0-3 with losses at Liberty, against FIU and at Charlotte. In other words, no one was predicting LaRussa and ODU would handle the No. 13 Hokies by two touchdowns. LaRussa jelled nicely with WRs Travis Fulgham and Jonathan Duhart, hitting those two receivers for a combined 330 yards and four scores. The Monarchs will look to keep it rolling at East Carolina next Saturday.
Sep 22 - 7:57 PM

Arizona sophomore RB J.J. Taylor rushed for 284 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries in Saturday's 35-14 win over Oregon State.

Taylor (5'6/184) had been trundling along without major impact this season -- he had rushed for exactly 54 yards in each of his last two games -- but made up for the slow start and then some via Saturday's magical performance. Against the Beavers, he opened the game's scoring with a 40-yard touchdown spring just minutes after kickoff. His second touchdown was even more impressive, as he found a seam and bolted through it for a 62-yard score to ice the game with a little over five minutes remaining on the fourth-quarter clock. Taylor will try to build off this showing in a home game against USC next weekend.
Sep 22 - 7:51 PM

Ohio State HC Urban Meyer said that redshirt junior Mike Weber was dealing with a foot strain and "should be fine" for next week's game at Penn State.

Weber left Saturday's game against Tulane in the second half with the injury, and the immediate concern was whether or not he would have to miss any time moving forward. Based upon Meyer's postgame comments the redshirt junior will be ready to go for the Buckeyes' showdown with the Nittany Lions, with the winner taking the early lead in the race for the Big Ten East title.
