North Carolina AD Bubba Cunningham said that the program self-reported several violations to the NCAA relating to players selling shoes.

"There were a number of students [who sold shoes]," Cunningham said during an ACC media event on Thursday. He added those those players -- none of whom were named -- could potentially face some sort of a suspension. While NCAA infractions are never welcomed, it could be worse. This is considered a "secondary violation," which does not carry the sort of steep penalty we've seen levied in the past. If any suspensions do develop from this case, we'll pass along word.

Miami redshirt sophomore QB N'Kosi Perry does not plan on transferring.

"N’Kosi is looking forward to what [OC Dan Enos] can bring to the quarterbacks," said Roberta, the quarterback's mother. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound redshirt sophomore appeared in 11 games -- making six starts -- during the 2018 season. He was yanked around somewhat by former HC Mark Richt, who flip-flopped between Perry and Malik Rosier at points throughout the campaign. All told, Perry finished out the 2018 campaign having thrown for 1,091 yards (50.8-percent completions) with a 13/6 TD/INT ratio while rushing for 169 yards and a score. He will be competing with Jarren Williams and Cade Weldon for starting honors this offseason, though OSU transfer Tate Martell could shake this all up considerably should he receive an eligibility waiver from the NCAA.

Michigan State RB LJ Scott (ankle) has been ruled out for the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Scott (6'1/225) dealt with a multitude of injuries during the 2018 season, missing so much time that he actually would have been eligible for a redshirt had he not participated in MSU's Redbox Bowl showdown with Oregon at the end of December. Given the large, large chunk of time that he has already missed in the recent past -- as well as his generally underwhelming play when healthy -- it would have been a nice beat for his draft stock had he at least managed to show a little something in Mobile. As is, no dice. Scott is going to need a strong combine upcoming, because he really hasn't given evaluators much to work with over the past year.

Michigan EDGE Chase Winovich (ankle) will not participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Winovich (6'3/255) has been dealing with an ankle injury requiring surgery, but as of late December had been planning on delaying that procedure to push through to take part in the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. It's not immediately clear whether he has since gone under the knife. We'll update Winovich's status and outlook as information becomes available. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline stamps him with a Round 4 grade at this juncture.

In his first mock draft of 2019, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. projected the Dolphins to select Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the 13th overall selection.

Kiper writes that "if [Murray] goes to the combine -- he's going to run a blazing 40-yard dash -- and goes through workouts for teams, I expect him to be picked in Round 1." As the draft season unfolds, you can expect Murray to be mocked to a variety of draft slots, as he is something of a polarizing prospect. For instance, in his latest mock, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller pushes the Heisman winner all the way to No. 7 with the Jaguars. All of this, of course, is dependent on Murray not simply showing up at spring training for the Oakland A's next month.

Oklahoma freshman QB Spencer Rattler expressed little concern over the transfer of Alabama senior QB Jalen Hurts.

While Rattler relayed to reporters at the end of December that HC Lincoln Riley had told him that the team would not be pursuing a transfer quarterback, Riley came back to him a few weeks later to explain that "we need an older quarterback in the room," with the four-star freshman telling 247Sports that he had no issue with this -- and had a hunch it was coming following Austin Kendall's leap into the transfer portal earlier this month. The 6-foot, 165-pound Rattler will be competing with Hurts and Tanner Mordecai for starting honors in 2019. He signed with the Sooners as a four-star recruit back in December.

Texas redshirt junior QB Shane Buechele entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Buechele (6'1/210) told the program that he was planning on entering the portal earlier. The proper paperwork now squared away, it's a done deal. The redshirt junior is searching elsewhere for a path to playing time with Sam Ehlinger putting the Texas starting job on lockdown. As a true freshman in 2016, Buechele started all 12 games for the Longhorns, throwing for 2,958 yards with a 21/11 TD/INT ratio. Ehlinger supplanted him the following season.

Redshirt freshman QB Matthew Downing has transferred from Georgia to TCU.

Downing was a preferred walk-on to the Bulldogs, and appeared in four games for Georgia as a freshman. Because of the new rules, he's allowed to take a redshirt season, but unless he gets a hardship waiver from the NCAA, he's going to have to sit out the 2019 campaign. He'll still have three years of eligibility left, however, and it's possible the 6-foot, 195-pound signal-caller competes for playing time in the next decade.

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reports that coach Butch Jones will remain with the Crimson Tide for the 2019 season.

It was reported in December that Jones was going to join the Maryland staff as a TE coach, but those reports were obviously premature. That or he changed his mind. We'll let you decide which is more likely. Jones served as an offensive analyst for Alabama in 2018, and it's possible that will be his role again in 2019. It's also possible he moves to an on-field role, as Alabama has several openings on the staff.

Chris Anderson of 247 Sports reports that redshirt junior QB Austin Kendall will enroll at West Virginia on Thursday.

It's amazing how quickly these things come together. Kendall announced his decision to transfer on Friday, and West Virginia quickly moved into a favorite position. That hit a bit of a snag when reports surfaced that the Sooners would block a transfer to West Virginia, but Oklahoma changed their mind/did the right thing, and he's now free to join the Mountaineers. A former four-star recruit, Kendall has played sparingly in his time with the Sooners, which isn't a surprise when you have two Heisman Trophy winners playing ahead of you. He should compete with Jack Allison for the starting job, and in our eyes, he should be considered the favorite to win the job.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports that Alabama DC Tosh Lupoi is leaving the Crimson Tide to coach the defensive line for the Cleveland Browns.

A report earlier Wednesday stated that Lupoi was interviewing with Cleveland. The interview must have gone well, as he's now leaving the Crimson Tide to join the NFL club. It's yet another loss for the Alabama coaching staff, and it's a big one; Lupoi is widely considered among the best recruiters in the country. Don't be surprised if Saban fills this role with a big name, although you can never count out an internal promotion.

Jake Trotter of ESPN reports that Kansas State will not block redshirt senior QB Alex Delton from transferring to TCU.

There was speculation today that TCU could look to prevent Delton from heading to the conference rival, similar to how Oklahoma is reportedly blocking quarterback Austin Kendall from heading to West Virginia. The Wildcats will instead let the redshirt senior head to Texas Christian for his final season, and he should battle for the starting quarterback spot this spring/summer.
