Oklahoma sophomore DE/OLB Addison Gumbs transferred to Oregon State.

Gumbs (6'3/253) has to sit out this year due to NCAA rules, but he's actually already been ruled out for the season with a knee injury he suffered in practice earlier this month, so he wouldn't have been playing either way. This is a big get for the Beavers. A four-star recruit in the Sooners 2017 recruiting class, Gumbs ranked as the No. 128 overall prospect in the 2017 class and the No. 9 weakside defensive end. He'll be one of the more talented defenders on Oregon State's roster. And here's the cool thing: The Beavers will get him for three seasons, beginning next year. OSU HC Jonathan Smith has now added three Power Five transfers over the past two weeks.

Syracuse freshman WR Edward Hendrix is expected to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a lower body injury.

While the Orange did not provide specifics as to the exact injury, here, Syracuse.com's Stephen Bailey passes along that the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Hendrix has been dealing with an "apparent knee injury" since the tail-end of preseason camp. A three-star recruit in the 2018 class, Hendrix was viewed as a potential early-impact freshman during the offseason. Looks like we'll have to wait until 2019 to see the wideout strut his stuff on the field. He figures to take a redshirt for the current campaign.

WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge reports that former LSU junior WR Drake Davis is, in addition to previously-reported battery charges, facing two counts of child pornography charges.

Police documents allege that Davis received two text messages that investigators considered child pornography. Davis did not delete them, and the texts were marked "read." The cops had his phone after seizing it following the first of his two arrests over the past month for alleged physical assault of his girlfriend. The former four star's playing days would appear to be over.

Southern Miss senior RB T'Rod Daniels announced Tuesday that he intends to take a redshirt this year and then transfer as a graduate in December to play his last year of eligibility elsewhere.

Well played by Daniels, who is making the new redshirt rule work for him in getting an extra year of education paid off. Listed as Southern Miss’ No. 2 running back on the depth chart, Daniels has been given only 12 carries through two games. So long as he appears in no more than two more, he'll automatically redshirt this year as part of the NCAA's new rule. It appears as though he's worked something out with the coaching staff, as Daniels will stay on board through December. Trivenskey Mosley, Steven Anderson and Darius Maberry will all be asked to step up behind starter Tez Parks in Daniels' absence.

UCLA HC Chip Kelly told reporters Tuesday that he has no response to critical comments made of him by Michael Robinson, the father of Bruins starting QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

"I have no response," Kelly said on the Pac-12 teleconference. "I mean, everybody's entitled to their opinion. That's what's the great thing about sports: When you win, people say good things, and when you don't, people don't say good things. That's life, you know?" On Sunday, Michael Robinson, responding to tweets from Bruin Report Online about his son's play in the loss to Fresno State, blamed "lousy coaching and play calling" and said that Kelly's success at Oregon "was simply a fluke."

Clemson senior QB Kelly Bryant (bruised chest) declared that he's ready to play in Saturday’s ACC opener at Georgia Tech.

"I’m full go," Bryant said. "I’m ready to play today." Bryant took a big hit to his upper chest and then landed awkwardly on the ball in the second quarter of last Saturday's 38-7 victory over Georgia Southern. "It was one of those weird plays where you’re not really sure what happened," Bryant said. "I wanted to make sure everything was fine because I was kind of feeling a little weird, so I went back to get a few tests and everything turned out good." He left the game and missed the entire second half. "I was full-go at practice, no limitations," Bryant said Tuesday. "I feel like 100 percent."

Miami (OH) HC Chuck Martin indicated that senior WR James Gardner (undisclosed) might miss the remainder of the season.

"James is not likely to be back the rest of the year," Martin said. "He’s facing surgeries." Gardner (6'4/212) suffered an undisclosed injury in the first half of last week's loss to Minnesota. A first-team all-conference pick last season, Gardner jumped onto the NFL radar by posting a 47-927-11 receiving line. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline is a known fan. If Gardner doesn't play in another game this year, he should be eligible for a redshirt, which would allow him to return to campus as a redshirt senior next year. The question is whether he'd do so, or if he'll opt to leave for the NFL as scheduled.

Stanford senior RB Bryce Love (undisclosed) is expected to play in Saturday's game against Oregon.

Love (5'10/202) sat against UC Davis over the weekend, but by all accounts that was just a precautionary measure. Barring any sort of late setback, look for the senior standout to be back in action against the Ducks come Saturday. When last we saw Love, he was gouging USC for 136 yards rushing and a touchdown in an easy Week 2 victory. Cameron Scarlett would fill in for him if the Cardinal opt to play it safe at the last minute come the weekend.

Nebraska freshman QB Adrian Martinez (knee) took part in practice on Tuesday.

Martinez (6'2/220) will be a game-time decision for this coming weekend's road showdown with Michigan. He continues to work his way back from the knee injury he sustained against Colorado to start the season, with that injury preventing him from playing in this past weekend's loss to Troy. Should Martinez's health prevent him from playing against the Wolverines, it would be former walk-on Andrew Bunch who receives the starting call once more.

Miami junior WR Ahmmon Richards (knee) did not practice on Tuesday.

Richards (6'1/190) is being considered a day-to-day proposition. He has not played in either of the last two games due to the knee injury he sustained against LSU in the opener. Miami is keeping optimistic about his availability for Saturday's game against FIU, though, and did list him as starting X-receiver on the Week 4 depth chart, a glimmer of hope for the talented-but-injury-cursed wideout. We should have a more clear idea as to Richards' availability for the weekend as the practice week progresses.

USC redshirt freshman S Isaiah Pola-Mao will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.

"The shoulder surgery that he has is a significant one to hold the shoulder in place," said HC Clay Helton. Pola-Mao (6'3/190) also underwent surgery on this same shoulder last fall, always a concerning sign. His most recent procedure -- he dislocated his shoulder against Stanford in Week 2 -- is expected to require six months of rehabilitation. Pola-Mao initially signed on with USC as a four-star recruit in the 2017 class. He made his first career start in this year's opener, against UNLV. Pola-Mao's sidelining leaves USC uncomfortably thin at safety outside of Marvell Tell. Among those who could help fill in, C.J. Pollard, Talanoa Hufanga and Chase Williams (shifted from corner to safety last week).

Kansas HC David Beaty said that redshirt senior DT Daniel Wise (undisclosed) is expected to play against Baylor on Saturday.

Wise (6'3/290) sat out the second half of Saturday's win over Rutgers due to a minor injury concern, but Beaty explained to reporters on Tuesday that this was just a precautionary move on the team's part. Wise will practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, Beaty said. A first-team All-Big 12 performer for the 2017 season, Wise is a potential Day 2 selection for the spring draft.
