Stanford HC David Shaw said that he expects that senior RB Bryce Love (undisclosed) will be available for the team's Week 4 showdown with Oregon.

Love (5'10/202) was lifted late in Saturday's win over USC due to an undisclosed injury concern. The Cardinal will play it safe with the star senior this coming weekend, as they'll be playing lesser competition in UC Davis and don't figure to require his dynamic services. Cameron Scarlett will start in his place for that one. We'll keep tabs on Love's status as information becomes available. Nagging injury plagued him down the stretch a year ago.

Kansas freshman RB Pooka Williams carried the ball 15 times for 252 yards with two touchdowns and threw for another score in a 55-40 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday.

My goodness. The Jayhawks offense is certainly not the reason that they fell to Oklahoma, and Williams was as good as we've seen him. That's saying something. He also added three catches for 18 yards, and it's the first time we've seen the 5-foot-10, 171-pound freshman reach triple digits since September 15. That has way more to do with Kansas than it does with Pooka. Williams is a star, and Les Miles -- or whatever coach Kansas ends up with -- should be thrilled to have him. He'll close out the year against Texas on Friday.
Nov 17 - 11:05 PM

Oklahoma redshirt junior QB Kyler Murray threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 21-of-32 passing, and ran for 99 yards and three scores in a 55-40 victory over Kansas on Saturday.

Whew. Murray was ridiculous on Saturday -- again -- and might have had his Heisman moment in the close victory. After the Jayhawks pulled to within 11 at 35-24, Murray dashed for 75 yards, and he showed off his quickness and speed on the run, making a couple attempted tacklers look foolish. This is a two-man Heisman race -- with apologies to Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor -- and Murray is right there in large part to efforts like this. A marquee showdown with West Virginia comes on Friday. We can't wait.
Nov 17 - 10:59 PM

Texas A&M junior RB Trayveon Williams rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in Saturday's 41-20 win over UAB.

Yet another beautiful performance from Williams, who has really found his groove under HC Jimbo Fisher. The 5-foot-8, 200-pound junior consistently ripped off chunk yardage on his way to averaging 8.35 YPC for the game, putting in a long run of 47 yards. Just about our only quibble, here, has nothing to do with Williams himself. For reasons unknown, Fisher had Williams taking carries with under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter, when the game was well out of hand. While he avoided picking up a garbage time injury, it was still an unwarranted risk. Looking beyond this game, Williams has now rushed for 1,326 yards and 13 touchdowns. We found ourselves consistently frustrated with his output under Kevin Sumlin, but now we are starting to see what he can do when given a competent game plan. Fun stuff. Up next on the docket for the Aggies, a Week 13 date with LSU.
Nov 17 - 10:46 PM

Clemson sophomore RB Travis Etienne ran for 81 yards on nine carries with two touchdowns in a 35-6 rout of Duke on Saturday.

Etienne was one of 10 players to get a carry for the Tigers on Saturday, and to no one's surprise, he was the most effective. Things started slow, but the talented sophomore came on strong in the third quarter. He rumbled in from 27 yards to give Clemson a 21-6 lead, and a few minutes later, he scored from 29 yards out to up the lead to 28-6. The Tigers remain undefeated, and will take on rival South Carolina next Saturday.
Nov 17 - 10:33 PM

Texas sophomore QB Sam Ehlinger (shoulder) is considered to be questionable to return to Saturday's game against Iowa State after re-aggravating a right shoulder injury during the first half.

Ehlinger took a hard hit late in the first half and was taken to the locker room ahead of his teammates just before halftime. The sophomore signal-caller returned to the sideline early in the second half and did some throwing on the sideline while backup Shane Buechele led the offense on the field. Ehlinger's return would be big for a Texas squad that still has a shot at earning a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Nov 17 - 10:00 PM

BYU senior RB Squally Canada (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against New Mexico State due to injury.

Canada (5'11/210) has been BYU's leading rusher this season, accounting for 412 yards and five touchdowns on 91 carries. With the senior running back out of the lineup, BYU will turn to redshirt freshman Lopini Katoa and redshirt senior Matt Hadley to shoulder the load in the ground game. Katoa is currently second on the team in rushing yards with 268, with Hadley ranking third at 264.
Nov 17 - 9:18 PM

UMass senior WR Andy Isabella caught 15 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 66-27 loss to Georgia.

Isabella (5'10/190) just solidified himself as a legit NFL wide receiver prospect after going bonkers against Georgia's defense. The slot receiver broke free for 75 and 45-yard touchdowns in the second half, but the craziest part of this performance was the team's reliance on Isabella. The senior accounted for 76% of the team's receiving yards and 62.5% of the team's receptions! Since this was UMass' last game of the season, Isabella finishes his senior campaign with 101 receptions, 1,697 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns. If he's able to test well at the combine, Isabella will climb up draft boards.
Nov 17 - 9:15 PM

Oklahoma State redshirt freshman RB Chuba Hubbard rushed for 134 yards on 26 carries in Saturday's 45-41 win over West Virginia.

With Justice Hill (ribs) sitting this one out, Hubbard was given workhorse carries and responded positively to the touches. We love what we have seen out of the talented redshirt freshman over the last two weekends. The 6-foot-1, 207-pounder put in 104 yards and three touchdowns versus Oklahoma last time out before coming out with his sturdy effort against WVU on Saturday. Hill will be eligible to declare for the draft this winter, and should he do so, Hubbard has the upside to emerge as starter next season. Getting a nice little test run down the stretch for the current campaign. He will try for further greatness against TCU next Saturday.
Nov 17 - 9:07 PM

Georgia freshman QB Justin Fields completed 5-of-8 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown on seven carries in Saturday's 66-27 win over UMass.

Fields showed off his ability to create explosive plays as a passer and runner in this one. The freshman quarterback threw a strike while getting hit for his first passing touchdown before launching a dime down the opposite sideline for a 57-yard score. Fields also had a nice spin move on a read-option carry for a short rushing touchdown to round out his huge game. Georgia will have both Justin Fields and Jake Fromm next week against Georgia Tech before playing Alabama on December 1st.
Nov 17 - 8:55 PM

Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh said after Saturday's win over Indiana that X-rays on senior DE Chase WInovich (undisclosed) came back negative.

This confirms an earlier postgame report. Winovich was injured in the fourth quarter after taking a questionable hit from an IU lineman after he was already down on the field. His status for next weekend's game against Ohio State will be determined over the course of the coming practice week.
Nov 17 - 8:43 PM

Oklahoma State redshirt senior QB Taylor Cornelius completed 30-of-46 passes for 338 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing for an additional score in Saturday's 45-41 win over West Virginia.

Last weekend, Cornelius turned in a Herculean performance against Oklahoma in what finished as a one-point loss. In what was a very similar game on Saturday, he was given a chance to rewrite the script. Three of his six total touchdowns came in the fourth quarter, with his 11-yard toss to Tylan Wallace pushing Oklahoma State to a 45-41 advantage with under a minute remaining. The Cowboys would survive one final drive by Will Grier and friends to pull out the huge win. They will wrap up their regular season against TCU next weekend.
