Boston College sophomore RB A.J. Dillon (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's contest against Louisville.

Dillon (6'0/245) was not able to play in the loss to NC State, but as Eagles HC Steve Addazzio notes, the sophomore tailback has been making progress every day. Ben Glines performed well in Dillon's absence (16 carries for 90 yards), but Dillon is the focal point of the Boston College offense, and his return would be a major boon for the Eagles.

Colorado sophomore WR Laviska Shenault (toe) underwent surgery.

Shenault (6'2/220) battled a turf toe injury for the second half of the 2018 season, but he was in visible discomfort after returning from missed games. The surgery will keep Shenault out of spring football, but he will have plenty of time to recover for the 2019 season. When healthy, Shenault is one of the most dynamic players in the country. Shenault is a candidate to be the No. 1 receiver in the 2020 draft class.

Utah State re-hired Gary Andersen as head coach.

Andersen was Utah State's head coach from 2009 to 2012 and was named the Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2012 after leading the Aggies to an 11-2 record. Since that season, Andersen has coached at Wisconsin, Oregon State, and Utah. Utah State AD John Hartwell said Andersen's knowledge of the program is "unparalleled" and they are confident that Andersen will bring continued growth to Utah State, who is playing North Texas in the New Mexico Bowl next week.

TCU sophomore QB Shawn Robinson will transfer according to 247 Sports' sources.

Robinson (6'2/228) had a rough season for the Horned Frogs and it ended with Robinson undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery. In seven games this season, Robinson tossed nine touchdowns with eight interceptions, but Robinson has some talent if he can put it all together. Perhaps a new coaching staff can help him develop, but he will not be eligible to play in games for one season. With Robinson heading out, Justin Rogers and Michael Collins will compete for the starting quarterback spot this offseason.

UCLA promotes OL coach Justin Frye to offensive coordinator.

Chip Kelly will, of course, be the master mind at UCLA, but this is a big promotion for the offesnive line coach. Frye has been in Los Angeles for just one season, and his presence was certainly felt late in the season, especially in the Bruins' rushing attack. Before being brought on by Chip Kelly, Frye spent five seasons with Boston College. Bruce Feldman described Frye as "highly thought of in coaching circles."
Dec 9 - 4:41 PM

Iowa State has extended HC Matt Campbell through the 2024 season.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that Campbell was a "potential head-coaching candidate" for the NFL, so this is very good day for the Cyclones. Campbell not only gets a new contract for himself, but Iowa State has agreed to give the assistant coaching staff an additional $1 million. In 2018, the Cyclones are 8-4 with Washington State up next in the Alamo Bowl. A win over the Cougars would give Campbell his first nine-win season at Iowa State.

FAU junior RB Devin Singletary was named the Conference USA Player of the Year by Pro Football Focus.

Singletary was given the fifth best running back grade in the country after finishing the season as the nation's leader in missed tackles forced -- he broke 94 tackles on 264 attempts. Singletary was also one of three running backs to have over 1,000 rushing yards coming after contact (1,027 yards). Pro Football Focus also notes that the junior running back led the country in percentage of yards coming after contact (76.9%). If Singletary declares for the 2019 NFL Draft, he would be a Day 2 candidate with an outside shot of being a late first-round pick with a strong combine.
Dec 9 - 3:15 PM

Florida Atlantic redshirt junior QB De'Andre Johnson will transfer.

Johnson hasn't announced where he will be heading to, but he is going as a graduate transfer. As a redshirt junior in 2018, Johnson attempted 23 passes for 161 yards and rushed 35 times for 178 yards with three combined touchdowns across seven games. Johnson will bring a dual-threat skill-set to whichever football program he transfers to.

North Carolina hired Army defensive coordinator Jay Bateman as the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach.

Bateman was named as a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is awarded to the nation's top assistant coach, so this is a big get for Mack Brown. Bateman's defense at Army ranked 11th in total yards (301.3 yards per game) and 17th in scoring defense (18.7). The Broyles Award finalist will join Tommy Thigpen as co-defensive coordinators.

Colorado defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot will be introduced as a DC at another college program on Monday.

Weird situation, but Eliot hasn't announced which school he's going to, but he is definitely leaving Colorado. The Buffaloes just inked Mel Tucker to the head coaching position, so Eliot was likely going to be shown the door. Eliot served as Colorado's defensive coordinator for two seasons.

Mississippi State received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 T Charles Cross.

Cross was at one time committed to Florida State, but he elected to stay home -- he's from Mississippi -- to be a Bulldog. Rivals' Chad Simmons describes the four-star as "an elite offensive tackle with real upside." Cross still needs to add weight (6'5/270) to get stronger, but Rivals describes him as a natural bender. Cross is 247 Sports' No. 95 overall prospect and the No. 11 ranked offensive tackle in the 2019 class.

Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh said that he is "staying at Michigan."

In speaking with ESPN's Adam Schefter, Harbaugh referenced the "choreographed message" that was put out each year around signing day regarding him jumping for an NFL job. He later told Schefter flat-out, "I’m staying at Michigan. We have big plans here, and there’s a lot we want to accomplish." The Wolverines wrapped the 2018 season with a 10-2 record, but were sitting on the steps of a potential Playoff berth prior to their loss to Ohio State to close out the regular season. Harbaugh has yet to make the Playoff in his four years at Michigan.
