Texas Tech redshirt sophomore WR T.J. Vasher left for the locker room in the first quarter of Thursday's game against TCU due to an undisclosed injury concern.

The ESPN broadcast described Vasher's issue as a possible lower back injury. He was shown walking very, very gingerly to the locker room near the end of the first quarter. The 6-foot-6, 190-pound wideout was just making his way back from a knee injury, so any further injury concern would be understandably frustrating. We'll pass along information as it becomes available. For now, consider Vasher questionable to return.

Stanford senior WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside caught seven passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 20-13 win over Arizona State.

In a game lacking for much offensive spark, Arcega-Whiteside had a handful of noteworthy grabs, with his 28-yard touchdown catch down the middle in the third quarter snapping a 6-6 tie and giving the game its first score that was not a field goal. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior is now up to nine touchdown catches on the year. He's failed to strike end-zone gold in just two games this season. Arcega-Whiteside will try to reach double-digits in touchdowns against Washington State in Week 9.
Oct 19 - 12:50 AM

Stanford senior RB Bryce Love (ankle) was taken to the medical tent in the second half of Thursday's game against Arizona State.

Love (5'10/202) has once again been dealing with ankle injury for much of the campaign, with the issue most recently flaring up after he had his leg rolled up in a loss to Notre Dame several weeks back. He subsequently sat out against Utah, then rested up on bye before starting Thursday's contest. Now injured again. Look for Cameron Scarlett and Trevor Speights to see the bulk of the work for the remainder of the game unless Love manages to return late.

Arkansas State redshirt senior QB Justice Hansen completed 17-of-28 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 76 yards and two additional scores in Thursday's 51-35 win over Georgia State.

Hansen (6'4/224) accounted for four of his five touchdowns in the first half before polishing off his fine evening's work via a 22-yard scoring run near the end of the third quarter. That latter score gave the Red Wolves a 41-14 advantage in a game that had long since stopped being competitive. This was one of Hansen's best games of the season and a welcome rebound after Appalachian State picked him off thrice last time out. He'll try to build off it against Louisiana in Week 9.

Rice redshirt senior QB Shawn Stankavage (foot) is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

According to Glynn Hill of the Houston Chronicle, Stankavage will miss the rest of the season due to an "upper foot/ankle" injury. He initially sustained the campaign-ender during this past Saturday's game against UAB and subsequently underwent an MRI before it was determined that he would not be able to play again this year. Evan Marshman figures to draw the remainder of the starts through to the end of the season now that Stankavage has been ruled out.
Oct 18 - 9:29 PM

Liberty junior WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (mono) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Idaho State.

Gandy-Golden (6'4/220) will be missing his second consecutive contest now that he's officially been nixed for Saturday's showdown with the Bengals. The junior wideout's absence is a notable one for the Flames, as he's their best skill-position weapon, having compiled a 32-497-5 receiving line through the first five games of the season before coming down ill. B.J. Farrow stepped up with eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's win against Troy and should figure prominently in the game plan on Saturday with Gandy-Golden sidelined.

Michigan sophomore LB Drew Singleton will transfer.

Singleton is a Top-100 2017 recruit who was rated as the No. 5 outside linebacker in the country. He committed to Michigan over offers from most of the big boys, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State. No reason was given for the New Jersey native's decision.

Four-star 2019 QB Jayden Daniels is scheduled to take an official visit to Utah this weekend as the Utes take on USC.

Boy did this news get a heckuva lot more intriguing Thursday morning with the revelation that Utah freshman QB Jack Tuttle will transfer. Daniels, the nation's No. 2 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite, is an Elite 11 finalist out of San Bernardino, CA. He is also the highest-rated uncommitted quarterback in the country. Securing Daniels' signature would sure make it easier to stomach the loss of Tuttle. Utes starting QB Tyler Huntley will return for the 2019 season, but a quarterback of the future is desperately needed in the next class to begin planning for 2020.

Utah freshman QB Jack Tuttle will transfer.

This stunner is being reported by multiple outlets. Tuttle is the highest-rated quarterback recruit to ever sign with Utah. A four star-recruit and No. 8 pro-style QB in the country coming out, Tuttle has not appeared in any of Utah's six games. In August, he lost out to redshirt freshman Jason Shelley in the battle for backup duties behind second-year starter Tyler Huntley. Huntley will return next year to (presumably) be backed up by Shelley. Tuttle, from Southern California, could, according to 247Sports, now look into Ohio State, Duke, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and West Virginia. At one time he also held offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, LSU, Nebraska, USC and Wisconsin. He'll likely have to sit out next season and lose a year’s eligibility.

Minnesota HC P.J. Fleck said that senior RB Shannon Brooks (knee) will practice on Thursday.

Brooks was recently medically cleared off his torn ACL back from back in early March. To this point, Fleck has declined to offer a timeline for Brooks' return to the field. A bigger complication than Brook' health is his legal status. Brooks was arrested Sunday morning for probable cause of domestic assault from a fight with his roommate. The city attorney declined to press charges. With Brooks (and fellow lead back Rodney Smith) out, freshmen Mohamed Ibrahim and Bryce Williams have jumped to the top of the depth chart. No matter how this shakes out, we would expect Fleck to keep Brooks' appearances below five. If Brooks appears in four games or fewer, he'll qualify for a redshirt and can return next year.

LSU redshirt sophomore TE Thaddeus Moss (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

"It's something that he's not completely healed. We want it to heal a lot faster, but it's not healing the way we want it," said LSU HC Ed Orgeron. Moss (6'3/240) has managed to practice at points throughout the early fall, but will end his season never having been healthy enough to appear in a game proper. A foot injury which has lingered since the summer is the culprit, here. The Tigers plan on exploring a potential medical hardship waiver now that Moss' season has been cut short. Foster Moreau will continue to see the bulk of work at tight end through to the end of the season, though the depth behind him has thinned.

According to The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach, a group of parents is "fearful" that suspended Maryland HC D.J. Durkin will return.

Durkin was suspended after the death of former Maryland offensive lineman Jordan McNair as the team looks into reports of a toxic infrastructure around the football team. The parents -- speaking on condition of anonymity -- told Auerbach that they weren't informed of abusive claims until after McNair's death on June 13, for fear of the parents not believing them. One parent told The Athletic reporter that they believed this was "predetermined," and another claiming they were terrified. This is an awful situation, and it doesn't sound like we're close to the end of these revelations.
