Stefani claims Midwest Classic for first win

Shawn Stefani earned his first Web.com Tour win with a bogey-free 7-under-par 34-30=64 in the final round of the Midwest Classic Presented by Cadillac.

Stefani's round was the lowest of the day, and his 17-under 267 total left him two strokes clear of Russell Henley and Luke List. He entered the week 54th on the Money List, but now finds himself safely inside the top 25 and in position for a PGA TOUR card should he hold his ground the rest of the way. He used a solid iron game that produced 54 (of 72) GIR to vault him to victory. The Lamar University product is in his rookie season on the Web.com Tour.

Uihlein breaks through on the European Tour

With a 4-under-par 36-32=68 in his final round of the Madeira Islands Open, Peter Uihlein recorded a two-stroke victory, his first on a professional circuit.

Uihlein turned pro exactly 17 months ago today and he's just 23 years of age. He posted 15-under 273 at Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra in Santo António. His second-round 64 drew real-time rumblings that he was chasing a 59 as he was 10-under through 12 holes, but it failed to develop since he played his last six holes in birdie-free 2-over. For the week, he converted an eagle and 22 birdies against nine bogeys. Morten Ørum Madsen and Mark Tullo shared runner-up honors in this opposite event on the European Tour. Defending champion Ricardo Santos tied for 19th. After starting the week at 246th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Uihlein should rise about 100 spots thanks to his maiden title.

Oosthuizen (neck) withdraws from the HPBNC

Louis Oosthuizen has withdrawn from the HP Byron Nelson Championship, citing a neck injury.

Oosthuizen was scheduled to tee of at 9:57 a.m. CT alongside Brian Harman. The South African played his first 54 holes in 3-under-par 67-70=70= 207. With top 20s in two of his last three starts on the PGA TOUR, his game appeared to be rounding into form ahead of this week's event. If he's able, he'll try again at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.

Graeme McDowell wins Volvo World Match Play

Graeme McDowell defeated Thongchai Jaidee 2 and 1 in the final of the Volvo World Match Play Championship.

The first-ever European Tour event in Bulgaria lived up to its hype both with scenic Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort in Kavarna and a deserving champion. Jaidee went 2 up after four holes and retained the lead through six. After McDowell picked off a birdie at the par-3 seventh to halve his deficit, he'd eventually draw even at 12. Wins at 14 and 15 followed as Jaidee began to stumble. Overall, G-Mac played 17 holes in bogey-free 3-under. Just four weeks removed from his title at Harbour Town, he climbed the ladder in this week's bracket with victories over Bo Van Pelt (1 up), Nicolas Colsaerts (2 and 1) and Branden Grace (3 and 2). McDowell is also the first native of Ireland or Northern Ireland to win this tournament that dates back to 1964.

Michael Bradley (back) WDs from the Nelson

Michael Bradley has withdrawn from the HP Byron Nelson Championship, citing a back injury.

Bradley was scheduled to tee off in today's final round at 9:21 a.m. CT. He played his first 54 holes in 2-under 68-70-70=208 for what was only his fifth made cut in 13 events. With a season-high T48 at the RBC Heritage highlighting his season, he needed to make the most of his week at TPC Four Seasons.

C. Campbell one of 11 to miss the 54-hole cut

Chad Campbell doubled bogeyed his final hole of the third round at the HP Byron Nelson Championship to miss the 54-hole cut on the number at 2-over 212.

Ten others will join Campbell on the couch for the final round. They include Ted Purdy (212), Jesper Parnevik (212), Charlie Wi (212), Pat Perez (213), Brian Stuard (213), Brad Fritsch (213), Vijay Singh (214), Tim Herron (214), Greg Owen (214) and Patrick Reed (216).

K. Bradley 18 holes from second HPBNC victory

Keegan Bradley continues to hold the lead at the HP Byron Nelson Championship after a 2-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round places him one-stroke clear of Sang-moon Bae at 13-under 197.

Bradley circled five birdies, ranging from 34'3" to four inches, and squared three bogeys at TPC Four Seasons. He only found 10 GIR, but gained 2.599 strokes on the field with his long putter. He ranks sixth in strokes gained for the week. The first of his three PGA TOUR wins came at this event in 2011, and he is in great position to pick up another in Sunday's final round.

Huh in line for first top 10 of '13 at HPBNC

John Huh signed for a 1-under-par 37-32=68 in the third round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship and enters the final round at 8-under 202.

Huh finished in style at TPC Four Seasons, beginning with an eagle from 162 yards at the par-4 14th and continuing with birdies at 16 and 17. Even though his rookie season was a strong one, he has yet to crack a top 10 in 14 PGA TOUR events in 2013. The difference this week has been a strong performance with the irons, landing 77.78 percent of his GIR for the tournament.

Woodland poised for first top 10 of 2013

Gary Woodland spun a 2-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship and is in position to pick up his first top 10 of the season at 8-under 202.

Four birdies outpaced two bogeys in Woodland's navigation of TPC Four Seasons, with a 46'8" bomb on the par-4 fourth the highlight. While only landing six (of 14) fairways, he managed to find 14 GIR. Even though is current position is enviable, high winds predicted in the final round could change the entire dynamic of the leaderboard by the end of the day Sunday.

Karlsson takes 14 more shots in 2nd round; MC

Robert Karlsson followed his opening 64 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship with an 8-over-par 41-37=78 to reach the midpoint in 2-over 142, two strokes too high to play the weekend.

Talk about a stunning turn of events. Just when the tall Swede appeared to have everything under control, the golf gods decided otherwise. He hit just eight greens in regulation today and converted one birdie. Elsewhere, he swallowed six bogeys and a triple bogey-7 at the par-4 11th hole where he rinsed his tee ball and didn't find the green until his fifth stroke. Karlsson will attempt to get back on the horse at next week's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. He tied for fifth in his only appearance in Fort Worth in 2011.

Stuard finally ends drought; MDF cut coming

Brian Stuard reached the midpoint of the HP Byron Nelson Championship in even-par 71-69=140 to survive the cut on the number.

Stuard hit 30 greens in regulation at TPC Four Seasons over his first 36 holes, but offset six birdies with four bogeys and a double. While he puts an 0-for-5 slide to an end, his work isn't done. Because 83 golfers made the cut, a second cut of low 70 and ties will fall at the conclusion of 54 holes. Others sneaking inside the bubble at 140 include defending champion Jason Dufner; 2010 winner Jason Day; 2009 champ Rory Sabbatini; Padraig Harrington; and 52-year-old Kenny Perry, who admitted on Golf Channel this week that he didn't know that he was still fully exempt on the PGA TOUR. Clearly, the senior doesn't read Rotoworld where we always keep up on status.

Keegan Bradley cools but maintains comfy lead

Overnight leader Keegan Bradley answered his opening 60 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship with a 1-under-par 35-34=69 in his second round to post the 36-hole clubhouse lead at 11-under 129.

Consider this the nth exhibit in the case against being able to go low in consecutive rounds. Bradley hit 13 greens in regulation and circled four birdies today, but none longer than his 9'1" conversion at the 10th hole. He also squared three bogeys. This included 5s at Nos. 1 and 18 for the second straight today. Both greens served as the only sites of his misses under 12 feet today, but both attempts were from inside seven feet. He signed his card sitting three strokes clear of Tom Gillis and Sang-moon Bae entering Saturday's third round.
