With only the top 100 in the FedExCup rankings advancing to this week's Deutsche Bank Championship, Spencer Levin secured his spot with a 2-over-par 35-37=72 in the final round of The Barclays to tie for 16th place at 5-under 275.
Levin posted rounds of 65-71-67-72 to move from 115th in the FEC standings to 80th. Joining him in cracking the top 100 this week were PGA TOUR rookie Zac Blair (106 to 45), Mark Wilson (114 to 85), Luke Donald (119 to 87), Carlos Ortiz (112 to 83), Camilo Villegas (123 to 99), Jason Dufner (103 to 82) and Johnson Wagner (101 to 92). Hudson Swafford entered the week as the bubble boy at No. 100 and bumped to 93rd with a T50-finish. 17 players were eliminated from the Playoffs following The Barclays, most notably Adam Scott (94 to 106), Lee Westwood (110 to 109), Francesco Molinari, who was idle (99 to 111), and Nick Taylor (102 to 101). Taylor, the only rookie to win this season on TOUR, is in the running for Rookie of the Year, but his first-round exit may dampen his chances as six fellow rookies are moving on to the second round.
