Brian Harman tacked on a bogey-free, 5-under-par 33-32=65 in today's third round of the Travelers Championship and his 14-under 196 aggregate has him one shot clear of Graham DeLaet and Bubba Watson.
Harman, making his 116th career start, will enter championship Sunday as the 54-hole leader, same position as he was at the 2014 John Deere Classic, where he went on to win his lone PGA TOUR title to date. The University of Georgia product, playing in the final pairing with fellow Bulldog Watson, began the day in a three-way T2 at 9-under, two shots back. For his efforts, he split nine (of 14) fairways, landed 15 greens in regulation, and totaled 28 putts. The 28-year-old circled five birdies on Nos. 1, 7, 10, 13 and 18, with his 3'8" roll at the last pushing him to the top of the board. Harman, 96th in the FedExCup standings has two top 10s on 20 starts, including a season-best T8 at THE PLAYERS. Inclement weather is forecast, requiring threesomes for Sunday, so he'll be in the final group with his closest pursuers DeLaet and Watson.
