The Braves are listing Eric O'Flaherty as day-to-day with back soreness.

There's no high-level concern for the injury, but the Braves will likely go with Jonny Venters as their primary setup man for the rest of the season. O'Flaherty is posting a 1.76 ERA and hasn't allowed a run in his last 27 appearances.

Mike Clevinger tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout against the Orioles in Saturday's 4-0 win.

He didn't blow them away but the Orioles just couldn't figure him out. He limited the O's to a pair of harmless singles and two walks while recording three strikeouts. It took him just 107 pitches to complete the shutout. Clevinger had a surprisingly strong season last year but has taken his game to a whole new level in 2018. He moves to 2-0 with a 1.75 ERA and 1.05 WHIP after four starts. He will try to keep it rolling against the Mariners on Thursday.

Anthony Rendon (toe) was not in the Nationals' lineup for a seventh straight game Saturday, but manager Dave Martinez said he's available to pinch-hit.

That's an interesting revelation, since a pinch-hit appearance would reset the clock on any potential DL stint. What it says is, the team thinks he's close, despite having not played in the past week. Rendon fouled a ball off his toe in a game on April 13 but X-rays came back negative and he's been day to day ever since. The infielder is likely a day or two away from a return to the lineup.

Xander Bogaerts (ankle) will embark on a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday.

If Tuesday and Wednesday's games go well, Bogaerts could be activated after Thursday's off day. He's been sidelined since April 9 with a small fracture in his left ankle, but the recovery has gone smoothly to this point. Brock Holt and Tzu-Wei Lin have filled in at shortstop in his absence.

A source tells Jack Curry of the YES Network that Yankees top prospect Gleyber Torres will be promoted before Sunday's game.

Torres performed well in camp and hasn't stopped hitting since the regular season began, slashing .370/.415/.543 in 13 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. With the arbitration threshold cleared, the Yanks have decided his time is now in New York. Torres will likely log most of his time at second base, though he could also play third and spell Didi Gregorius at short.

Carlos Martinez held the Reds scoreless for six innings but had to settle for a no-decision in his team's 4-3 victory on Saturday.

He struck out seven batters and walked three while surrendering just three base hits -- all singles. He left with a 3-0 lead but his bullpen blew that to deprive him of the win. Martinez has been masterful his last four times out after struggling in his Opening Day start. He has two wins and one loss with an elite 1.42 ERA in five starts. He's generated 37 strikeouts and allowed just one homer in 31 2/3 innings. The only concern is his 17 walks. His next outing is scheduled for Friday in Pittsburgh.
Apr 21 - 5:55 PM

Jake Lamb (shoulder) could travel with the team to Philadelphia for their upcoming road trip, manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday.

The team heads to Philly after wrapping up their series with the Padres on Sunday, so that suggests Lamb is very close to a return. He's been out since April 3 with an AC sprain in his left shoulder. It would be a welcome return for the D'backs, who have been leaning on Deven Marrero and Daniel Descalso at third in Lamb's absence.
Apr 21 - 5:38 PM

Wil Myers is not in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

It's an expected day off for the outfielder, who played three straight minor league rehab games before returning for Friday's win over the Diamondbacks. He's expected to be back in there Sunday. With Manuel Margot back and in center field, Franchy Cordero slides over to right with Jose Pirela in left Saturday.
Apr 21 - 5:04 PM

Byron Buxton (migraines) took batting practice Saturday for the first time since going on the disabled list.

That's a positive sign, especially after manager Paul Molitor said Friday that Buxton was showing "slight improvement." It will still likely be a process for Buxton to return, with more baseball activities and possibly a rehab assignment still to come, but being able to take BP suggests he's turned or is close to turning a corner. Buxton hasn't played since April 15 due to the migraines, which he suffered on the Twins' trip to San Juan.
Apr 21 - 5:00 PM

Corey Knebel (hamstring) threw off a mound Saturday for the first time since going on the disabled list.

The Brewers will proceed with caution, according to manager Craig Counsell, because Knebel's hamstring injury came while pitching. That likely means more bullpen sessions than perhaps is custom for such an injury. With that said, there's still no clear timetable on a possible return, but Saturday was a positive step.
Apr 21 - 4:54 PM

Padres activated Manuel Margot from the 10-day disabled list.

Margot missed the minimum after being hit in the ribs by a 95 mph fastball during a game in Colorado. The move is well-timed, as fellow outfielder Hunter Renfroe hit the DL Saturday with elbow inflammation. Margot has struggled out of the gate but there's plenty of season left, and hopes are still high for his sophomore campaign after a promising rookie year.
Apr 21 - 4:49 PM

Delino DeShields (hand) remained on a rehab assignment Saturday, serving as the designated hitter for Double-A Frisco's game Saturday.

There was some thought that DeShields would return Saturday after playing with Frisco Thursday and Friday, but he'll get at least one more game in the minors before being reinstated. He's so far ahead of schedule that another day isn't any cause for concern. He's got three hits in six at-bats with a run scored through two rehab appearances.
