Nick Camino of WTAM 1100 in Cleveland reports that Terry Francona is viewed as the favorite to land the Indians' vacant managerial job.

No interviews have taken place yet, but Camino says that Francona is in the driver's seat for the time being. The only other name that's surfaced is interim manager Sandy Alomar Jr. Francona will require a bigger financial commitment if the Indians want to pry him away from ESPN.

Alex Bregman went hitless in four at-bats with a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Royals, and he was trying everything to snap out of his funk.

Bregman also had a throwing error in the game, and was so determined to change his luck that he shaved in the middle of the 11-3 victory. Despite taking the collar at the plate, the Astros had more than enough offensive support for Gerrit Cole and the rest of the pitching staff. He is mired in a 4-for-24 (.167) slide with six strikeouts and just two extra-base hits, but he remains a solid fantasy option across the board.

Caleb Smith was removed from Sunday's start against the Rockies due to left shoulder tightness.

Initially, it was believed that Smith had sustained a groin injury, but it's his pitching shoulder instead that ails him. It's not yet clear if it's severe enough to cause him to miss his next start, but fantasy owners should have a contingency plan ready in case he is unable to start next week.

Yankees' manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday's game that Gary Sanchez is likely heading to the disabled list with a groin strain.

Sanchez was forced to leave Sunday's game with the groin injury that he sustained while running to first base in the 10th inning. Just how long he'll be sidelined isn't yet clear, though more will be known presumably after he heads for an MRI on Monday. Austin Romine will handle the bulk of the catching duties in his absence.

Giancarlo Stanton went 5-for-5 with a homer and two doubles in a loss to the Rays in extras on Sunday.

He also drew a walk, so we saw the slugger on base six times in the extra-inning loss. Stanton's blast was a big one, as it was a solo shot that tied the game at 6-6 in the eighth inning off of Vidal Nuno. He now has 19 homers on the season, and the two doubles give him 15, respectively. It's not the MVP season we saw in 2017, but Stanton now has his OPS up to .852 over 74 games, and there's reason to believe that number will continue to go up as the year progresses.
Jun 24 - 5:46 PM

Jake Bauers went 2-for-6 and hit a walk-off homer in the 12th inning on Sunday in a 7-6 victory over the Yankees.

His other hit was his first big-league triple. The solo homer off of Chasen Shreve give Bauers two on the season, with this one giving the Rays the win and a surprising series sweep. Since being called up on June 7, the rookie has hit a pedestrian .254, but he's shown his strong approach with a .389 on-base percentage and .525 slugging percentage over 59 plate appearances. As long as he gets everyday playing time -- and he should -- there should be some fantasy value here.
Jun 24 - 5:40 PM

Carlos Rodon threw eight innings and allowed two runs in a 10-3 victory over the Athletics on Sunday.

Rodon allowed seven hits over those eight innings, and he didn't walk anyone while striking out three. It's the first win of the season for the southpaw, and the eight strong innings lowers his ERA to 3.70. Expect to see the left-hander to miss more bats as he builds up his arm strength, but it's nice to see him firing strikes early on. Rodon will toe the rubber again on Saturday against the Rangers.

Cody Bellinger swatted a pair of solo home runs Sunday against the Mets.

Bellinger's first bomb of the game came off of Tim Peterson in the fourth inning and his second was off of Anthony Swarzak in the eighth. It was one of seven dingers on the day for the Dodgers, as Enrique Hernandez also went deep twice and Max Muncy, Joc Pederson and Justin Turner each left the yard once. Turner's blast in the 11th inning won it for the Dodgers.

Enrique Hernandez popped two of the Dodgers’ seven home runs in Sunday’s extra-innings win over the Mets.

Hernandez went deep off of Jerry Blevins to lead off the game and Max Muncy followed with a dinger of his own. He then homered off of Chris Beck in the sixth inning and also added a third run scored after singling in the eighth. Hernandez now has a career-high 12 longballs this season over 69 games after he went deep 11 times across 140 contests last year.

Jose Berrios struck out 12 hitters in seven shutout innings in a 2-0 victory over the Rangers on Sunday.

It was a dominant effort from Berrios against the Texas lineup, as he scattered three hits and walked two hitters to go with the aforementioned 12 punchouts. The right-hander has now allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his past eight starts, and his ERA has lowered to 3.15 in the process. Simply put, there aren’t many who have more talent than Berrios, and he’s shown as much for most of the 2018 season. He’ll look to continue his strong run on Saturday when he squares off against the Cubs.
Jun 24 - 4:48 PM

Ozzie Albies went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 7-3 victory over the Orioles on Sunday.

Albies now has seven hits in his last two games, and it appears his struggles are starting to come to a close. The 21-year-old infielder now has a .264 average on the season, and while he's not showing the same power stroke he did to start the year, he still has his slugging percentage of .492. The future is exceptionally bright for Albies, but he can still help your squad in 2018 as well.
Jun 24 - 4:36 PM

Chris Sale punched out 13 batters across seven shutout frames in the Red Sox' 5-0 victory over the Mariners on Sunday.

Sale got a whopping 26 swinging strikes in this one as he whiffed double-digit batters for the second start in a row and sixth time in 17 outings this season. The Mariners managed just four hits and one walk against the southpaw and Sale needed just 93 pitches to cruise through his seven innings even with all of the strikeouts. Sale has a big matchup in Yankee Stadium waiting for him his next time out.
