Raul Ibanez came up big for the Yankees Tuesday, blasting a game-tying, two-run homer in the ninth and a walk-off single in the 12th in a comeback win over the Red Sox.

The Yanks entered the ninth inning down 3-1, but Red Sox closer Andrew Bailey gave up a leadoff single to Curtis Granderson before Ibanez knotted it up after pinch-hitting for Eduardo Nunez. Ibanez then beat the shift in the 12th with a single through the left side. The Yanks will enter Game 162 up one game on the Orioles in the AL East.

Wilin Rosario went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored as the Rockies completed a four-game sweep of the Diamondbacks with Sunday's 8-3 win.

Rosario was the man on the spot for the Rockies, scoring runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings. Rosario is red hot in recent games, hitting .700 (14-for-20) with two home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored in the past five games. The unconscious stretch has his overall line up to .273/.310/.440 as he attempts to salvage a largely pedestrian season.

Mark Trumbo homered twice and had three RBI in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.

Trumbo's blasts provided all the offense for the Diamondbacks in the loss. He hit a two-run shot in the sixth inning before adding a solo shot in the ninth. Trumbo now has 11 home runs and 53 RBI to go with a .239/.300/.403 line.

Michael Cuddyer homered in his third straight game against the Diamondbacks Sunday.

During the four-game set, Cuddyer hit a solo homer on Thursday and a grand slam Friday before getting Saturday off. He came back to whack another solo home run Sunday, his 10th in 171 at-bats this year. Injuries marred Cuddyer's season, but the 35-year-old showed he can still hit when healthy -- his line is up to .333/.378/.602 after the homer binge.
Sep 21 - 9:03 PM

Ryan Rua hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to give the Rangers a 2-1 win over the Angels on Sunday.

It was a good time for Rua's first career home run, as the game was tied and the Angels had closer Huston Street on the hill. Rua has been very good in a 21-game stint with the club, batting .313/.329/.410 with 10 RBI and 10 runs scored.
Sep 21 - 8:36 PM

Matt Kemp went 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the Dodgers' 8-5 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

It seemed like every time Kemp stepped to the plate he had a chance to drive someone in -- usually Yasiel Puig -- and he came through in three different instances. The big blow was a two-run homer in the third, his 23rd home run on the year. Kemp has shaken off a slow start to turn in another strong year at the plate, hitting .286/.347/.498 with 84 RBI and 73 runs scored with a handful of games left to play.
Sep 21 - 8:09 PM

Jake Marisnick went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Astros downed the Mariners 8-3 on Sunday.

With a one-run lead in the seventh inning, Marisnick blew the game wide open with a three-run shot off Mariners reliever Yoervis Medina. The homer was Marisnick's third of the year and his second in the past two games. He also scored the first run of the game on a wild pitch. The multi-faceted outfielder is hitting .276 since moving to the American League and is slashing .250/.285/.325 with 11 steals and three homers overall.
Sep 21 - 7:33 PM

Greg Holland worked a perfect ninth inning to preserve the Royals' 5-2 win over the Tigers on Sunday.

Holland has appeared in three games since dealing with some biceps tightness, but Sunday was his first save chance since his return. He passed that test with flying colors, striking out two in the 1-2-3 inning. Holland now has 43 saves to go with a 1.52 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 86/19 K/BB ratio over 59 1/3 innings. Now healthy, Holland is once again one of the elite closers in the game.
Sep 21 - 6:52 PM

Corey Kluber did it again Sunday, striking out 14 while allowing two runs over seven innings in the Indians' 7-2 win over the Twins.

The start was the second consecutive start in which Kluber has fanned 14, giving him an MLB-best 258 strikeouts on the year. The win was Kluber's fourth straight, moving him to 17-9 with a 2.53 ERA on the year. Felix Hernandez may have the lead in the AL Cy Young discussion, but the Klubot will have one more shot at convincing voters of his deservedness when he faces the Rays on Saturday.
Sep 21 - 6:18 PM

Mookie Betts hit a leadoff home run, finishing 2-for-5 as the Red Sox sneaked past the Orioles 3-2 on Sunday.

Leading off the game, Betts homered to left on the fourth pitch he saw. The homer was his fifth of the year, giving him 14 RBI. Betts is really showing something after his early struggles, as his line sits at .285/.362/.436 after Sunday's performance. It should be fun to watch what the 21-year-old will do in his sophomore campaign.
Sep 21 - 4:59 PM

Jacob deGrom held the Braves to two runs -- one earned -- over six innings Sunday as the Mets completed a three-game sweep with a 10-2 blowout win.

The 26-year-old right-hander carried a perfect game into the fifth, but Justin Upton broke that up with a single and then scored on a Ruben Tejada fielding error. A few batters later, deGrom issued a bases-loaded walk to give the Braves their second run. He struck out 10 batters in the impressive outing and is now sporting a 2.63 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 43/144 K/BB ratio in 140 1/3 innings this year.
Sep 21 - 4:53 PM

Masahiro Tanaka tossed 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Yankees' 5-2 win over the Blue Jays.

It was Tanaka's first start since July 8 and he looked great, scattering five hits and fanning four batters over his five-plus frames. Tanaka did not issue a walk and went to only one three-ball count. He's been successful so far in his attempt to rehab a partially-torn ulnar collateral ligament and will look to put a promising stamp on his rookie season this week in Boston. Tanaka is 13-4 with a 2.47 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 139/19 K/BB ratio in 134 2/3 major league innings.
