According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, Carlos Marmol agreed to waive his no-trade clause to go to the Angels in a potential Dan Haren deal, but the Cubs pulled the deal off the table.

No word yet on the exact reasons that the deal fell through, but it likely has to do with them failing to come to an agreement over how much salary would be included in the deal. The Angels will continue to talk to other teams, attempting to move Haren before the midnight deadline to decide on his $15.5 million team option for 2013.

Braves activated RHP Mike Foltynewicz from the 10-day disabled list.

Foltynewicz, out since June 12 with right triceps tightness, will make his return Monday against the Reds. The 26-year-old returns to a brilliant 2.16 ERA and 94/33 K/BB ratio over 79 innings this season. He obviously should be activated immediately in fantasy leagues.
Jun 25 - 3:50 PM

Jean Segura (forearm) has returned to the Mariners' lineup Monday against the Orioles.

Segura missed four straight games with an infection in his right forearm. He had the infection drained on Friday and was limited over the weekend, but he's feeling closer to normal now.
Jun 25 - 3:38 PM

Brandon Nimmo is considered day-to-day after an MRI came back negative on his right pinkie finger.

Great news for a team (and a fanbase) which could really use it. Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record previously reported that Nimmo "avoided a significant injury," but now we have some specifics on the situation. The expectation is that he'll return to the lineup as soon as he's able to grip a bat without discomfort.
Jun 25 - 3:24 PM

Yankees placed C Gary Sanchez on the 10-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

The move is now official, though the exact timetable isn't yet known. Sanchez was scheduled for an MRI on Monday, so the Yankees should pass along more information soon. Kyle Higashioka has been called up, but Austin Romine should see most of the catching duties for now.
Jun 25 - 3:22 PM

Tigers signed No. 1 overall pick RHP Casey Mize.

The Tigers were set to make it official with a press conference Monday. According to Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press, Mize will receive a $7.5 million bonus. While that's a new record under the current bonus pool rules, the deal is still $596,300 under the slot value for the pick. That means the Tigers can use that savings with some of their other picks, if they so choose. As for Mize, he was the easy choice for the No. 1 pick and immediately becomes the top prospect in Detroit's system. The ingredients for a frontline starter are here and he could make it to the majors rather quickly.
Jun 25 - 1:42 PM

Mike Moustakas is not in Monday's lineup against the Angels.

It sounds like a routine day of rest. Alcides Escobar is slated to make his first ever start at third base.
Jun 25 - 12:20 PM

Athletics designated RHP Liam Hendriks for assignment.

No word yet on the corresponding roster move. Hendriks has missed time this season with a groin injury while struggling with a 7.36 ERA over 13 appearances. He's still owed about half of his $1.9 million salary for this season, but he could draw some interest via waivers or trade. He still has one year of team control remaining, as well.

Daniel Murphy delivered a go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the eighth inning on Sunday night, leading the Nationals to an 8-6 victory over the Phillies.

Phillies' closer Seranthony Dominguez intentionally walked rookie Juan Soto to load the bases in order to face Murphy in the eighth inning with the Nationals trailing by a run. He fell behind in the count 1-2, but was able to then serve a two-run single into left field to give the Nationals their first lead of the night. Murphy finished the night 3-for-4 (all singles) and also drew a walk, raising his season slash to .195/.233/.220 through his first 43 plate appearances.

Derek Dietrich had a big game Sunday in Colorado, finishing 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI.

Dietrich will wish the Marlins could stay in the rarefied air of Denver a little longer, as he had a homer in each of the three games against the Rockies. He wrapped up the three-game set going 8-for-13 with two doubles, three homers and four RBI. The Fish return home to open a three-game set with the Diamondbacks on Monday night. He is hitting just .277 with four homers and 14 RBI across 119 at-bats at Marlins Park, while posting a .322 average with seven homers and 15 RBI over 143 road at-bats.
Jun 24 - 9:43 PM

Alex Bregman went hitless in four at-bats with a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Royals, and he was trying everything to snap out of his funk.

Bregman also had a throwing error in the game, and was so determined to change his luck that he shaved in the middle of the 11-3 victory. Despite taking the collar at the plate, the Astros had more than enough offensive support for Gerrit Cole and the rest of the pitching staff. He is mired in a 4-for-24 (.167) slide with six strikeouts and just two extra-base hits, but he remains a solid fantasy option across the board.
Jun 24 - 8:46 PM

Caleb Smith was removed from Sunday's start against the Rockies due to left shoulder tightness.

Initially, it was believed that Smith had sustained a groin injury, but it's his pitching shoulder instead that ails him. It's not yet clear if it's severe enough to cause him to miss his next start, but fantasy owners should have a contingency plan ready in case he is unable to start next week.
