Will Ohman has elected free agency.

On the surface, Ohman struggled through his 26 2/3 innings with the White Sox in 2012, posting a horrifying 6.41 ERA. He did post a solid WHIP of 1.05 though, and a 13/5 K/BB ratio, and most of the ERA damage was due to allowing six home runs. He'll attempt to latch on elsewhere as a left-handed relief specialist.

Suk-min Yoon has returned to South Korea.

Yoon scored a three-year, $5.75 million deal from the Orioles last February, but the Korean right-hander posted a rough 5.74 ERA in 95 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level in 2014 and has apparently now ended his pursuit of a major league career. Or at least put it on hold for a bit. The 28-year-old had two years left on his agreement with the O's.

Miguel Cabrera (foot) is running at 72 percent of his body weight on an anti-gravity treadmill.

Once he gets to 80 percent, Cabrera will be cleared to run outside and field groundballs. The veteran slugger has been hitting for weeks in Tigers camp and still has a good shot at making the Opening Day lineup. Cabrera is recovering from October surgery to remove painful bone spurs from his right ankle and repair a stress fracture in his right foot.

Josh Harrison told reporters Thursday morning that his left ankle injury is "a little minor."

Harrison was pulled from Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays after rolling his left ankle. But he caught himself before he turned it too severely and should be back in action by early next week. The 2014 National League All-Star will open the 2015 season as the Pirates' starting third baseman.

Dan Haren acknowledged to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman that he is no longer considering retirement.

Haren threatened to hang up his cleats for good back in November if the Dodgers traded him somewhere away from the West Coast, but he didn't follow through with that after being dealt in December to the Marlins. "I'm here," he said from Jupiter, Florida on Wednesday. The veteran right-hander posted a decent 4.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 145 strikeouts in 186 innings last season for Los Angeles and should carry mixed-league fantasy value with Miami.

Byron Buxton went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored in his spring debut Wednesday night against the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Buxton is again generating big-time buzz in Twins camp after appearing in only 31 minor league games last season due to injuries. "With Buxton, it was fun to see him run around like that," manager Paul Molitor told reporters after Wednesday's 3-1 win. The 21-year-old top outfield prospect could very well make his major league debut in late 2015.

According to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith, free agent Phil Coke is expected to sign Friday.

It's not clear where he's headed. Coke has been connected to the Rangers, Royals, and Blue Jays over the past couple of weeks after struggling to drum up a healthy market for much of the offseason. The 32-year-old left-hander registered a decent 3.88 ERA and 41/20 K/BB ratio across 58 innings with the Tigers in 2014.

Roberto Hernandez has arrived in Astros camp.

The man formerly known as Fausto Carmona had a little trouble securing a work visa after signing a minor league contact with the 'Stros in mid-February. But all is settled now and he'll try to catch up quickly to the other candidates for Houston's final rotation spot. Hernandez could also be an option for long relief.

The Dodgers are offering to pay off "about half" of Andre Ethier's remaining contract in order to trade him, a source tells Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Ethier is due $56 million over the next three years, so the team is offering to pay roughly $28 million to get a deal done. Of course, the more the team pays, the more it will want in return in a trade. With Yasiel Puig, Carl Crawford and youngster Joc Pederson likely occupying the three starting outfield spots Ethier is expendable, and he's said he would like to be dealt if he isn't a starter. What team would be willing to take on Ethier as a starter, for whatever his contract may be, is still unclear. Perhaps the picture will become clearer as spring moves forward.

A four-person panel is split on whether Josh Hamilton should have to enter a rehabilitation program for drug abuse, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The panel, which consists of two attorneys and two physicians, is at a deadlock. As a result, an arbitrator will join the group to break the tie. A source also said officials are determining whether to classify Hamilton as a fourth-time offender, a penalty that normally carries at least a one-year suspension. New commissioner Rob Manfred would still have the final say on a potential suspension's length. A decision wasn't expected much before Opening Day, and it's unclear at this point how long the process will take with the extra steps now involved. Stay tuned.

MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports Huston Street and the Angels are expected to exchange offers on a potential contract extension soon.

The sides had exploratory talks over the winter but broke off their discussions when pitchers and catchers reported to Arizona. Street, who represents himself, is said to be looking for a contract between Andrew Miller's four-year, $36 million contract and David Robertson's four-year, $46 million contract. He's set to make $7 million in the final year of his deal before hitting the free agent market this fall.

Marcus Semien stayed hot Wednesday, going 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI in a Cactus League win over the Giants.

Semien is now 5-for-5 with a walk and six RBI in six plate appearances this spring. The 24-year-old shortstop was one of the focal points for the Athletics in the Jeff Samardzija trade, and he's showing why early in camp. Semien is penciled in as the Athletics' starting shortstop and he should be on AL-only fantasy radars -- if not as a flier in deep mixed leagues -- this draft season.
