B.J. Upton's newly-inked contract with the Braves will be worth between $70 and $75 million over the next five years, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Upton was pushing for a guaranteed sixth year but the Braves drew the line at five. It's still a nice score for a guy who finished the 2012 season with a measly .298 on-base percentage. The 28-year-old will start in center field for the Braves next season. He remains a highly valuable fantasy commodity because of his power and speed.

Jake Lamb is not in Saturday's lineup versus the Rockies.

He'll sit against left-hander Jorge De La Rosa. Brandon Drury will start at third base and bat seventh.

Jonathan Papelbon (intercostal) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Saturday and felt good.

The Nationals haven't made an official decision, but Papelbon could begin a minor league rehab assignment with High-A Potomac as soon as Monday. He appears on track to return in early July. Shawn Kelley will continue to fill in at closer for now.

The Mets are expected to call up prospect outfielder Brandon Nimmo on Saturday.

He's set to replace Michael Conforto, who will reportedly be demoted. The Mets' first-round pick from 2011, Nimmo has put himself back on the prospect map this season by batting .328/.409/.508 with five home runs, 37 RBI, and five stolen bases over 63 games this season in Triple-A. Of course, those numbers are in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League, so they have to be taken with a grain of salt, but he figures to see plenty of playing time in the Mets' outfielder now that Conforto is headed to the minors. He's more of a wait-and-see option in mixed fantasy leagues, but he should be owned in NL-only formats.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that the Mets are demoting outfielder Michael Conforto.

The Mets are expected to call up prospect outfielder Brandon Nimmo to take his place on the roster. Conforto hit .365 in April, but he's batting just .148/.217/.303 in 44 games since and has also dealt with a wrist injury. The Mets still have very high hopes for him in the long-term, but he'll try to get back on track in the minors.
Jun 25 - 1:02 PM

Willson Contreras will start in left field Saturday against the Marlins.

Anthony Rizzo and Miguel Montero are back in action on Saturday, but the Cubs want to keep the hot-hitting Contreras in the lineup. The 24-year-old is batting .412 (7-for-17) with three homers and eight RBI over seven games since his promotion from Triple-A. There was a question about how much playing time he would get, but the Cubs have shown a willingness to test his versatility, which only enhances his fantasy appeal at the moment. Contreras hasn't played in the outfield since 2013 with Class A Kane County.
Jun 25 - 12:43 PM

Ben Zobrist is not in Saturday's lineup against the Marlins.

Zobrist suffered a bruised left ankle when he was hit by a pitch on Friday. Consider him day-to-day. Javy Baez will start at second base and bat fifth against Paul Clemens.
Jun 25 - 12:38 PM

Miguel Montero (knee) returned to the Cubs' lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.

Montero has been dealing with some soreness in his right knee since a play at home plate on Wednesday, but he's feeling good enough to catch John Lackey on Saturday. The hot-hitting Willson Contreras is starting in left field.
Jun 25 - 12:35 PM

Anthony Rizzo (back) is in the Cubs' lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.

Rizzo sat out back-to-back games due to back stiffness. It has been a lingering issue, but hopefully the time off did him some good.
Jun 25 - 12:30 PM

Jon Jay (wrist, forearm) remains out of the Padres' lineup Saturday against the Reds.

Jay hasn't played since he was hit in the wrist area with a pitch last Sunday and a stint on the disabled list remains a possibility. Travis Jankowski will start in center field again and bat leadoff Saturday.
Jun 25 - 11:34 AM

Marc Carig of Newsday reports that the Mets are expected to officially sign Jose Reyes on Saturday afternoon.

Multiple reporters are saying the same, as a reunion is basically seen as a foregone conclusion at this point. Reyes won't officially become a free agent until 1 p.m. ET, but Mets manager Terry Collins was already talking Friday about how the team plans to use him. The Mets would only be responsible for paying the veteran infielder a prorated portion of the major league minimum. Reyes was designated for assignment by the Rockies last week after completing a suspension for a domestic violence incident with his wife.
Jun 25 - 11:24 AM

Yankees designated 1B Ike Davis for assignment.

The move clears a spot for Mark Teixeira's return from the disabled list. Davis went 3-for-14 (.214) with an RBI during his brief stint with the Yankees. He told reporters that he'll consider staying with the organization if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
