FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Diamondbacks have been involved in trade dialogue involving Jason Kubel.

There's been plenty of speculation about the future of Justin Upton, but Rosenthal hears that the D-Backs has had at least as much trade talk about Kubel. The 30-year-old outfielder batted .253/.327/.506 with 30 homers and an .833 OPS this past season and is under contract for $7.5 million next season with a $7.5 million mutual option for 2014.

Davis put the A's up 2-1 with his solo blast in the top of the fourth inning and they went on to win the game 3-2. The 29-year-old outfielder also singled in the top of the ninth, finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. He's batting .246/.335/.527 with 28 home runs and 68 RBI.

Nick Williams hit his fourth major league homer Sunday in the Phillies' 6-3 defeat of Milwaukee.

It was a two-run blast in the bottom of the fourth inning off Brewers starter Junior Guerra. Williams then tallied his third RBI of the afternoon on a force attempt in the bottom of the fifth. The talented 23-year-old outfielder has a stellar .309/.347/.603 batting line with 15 RBI over his first 19 games at baseball's highest level.

Clayton Kershaw was removed from Sunday's start against the Braves after two innings due to an apparent injury.

No word yet on exactly what's going on. With two outs in the second inning, the team trainer and manager Dave Roberts came out to check on the star southpaw, and after throwing a couple of warm-up pitches he remained in the game. He was pinch-hit for in the bottom half of the inning though and was seen going into the clubhouse with the trainer. We'll pass along any updates as soon as they become available.

Billy Hamilton finished 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, an RBI, and a run scored Sunday in the Reds' 6-3 defeat of the Marlins.

Hamilton has pushed his stolen-base total to 43, by far the highest number in the major leagues. The 26-year-old speedster is on pace for a career-best 71 thefts.

Corey Kluber dominated the Blue Jays on Sunday, racking up 14 strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball.

Kluber was pitching on a bit of extra rest after being skipped Friday due to a sore neck and he didn't skip a beat, delivering 81 of his 120 pitches for strikes as the Tribe cruised to an 8-1 victory. The one run he allowed came on a solo shot by Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar in the top of the third inning. Kluber boasts a 1.35 ERA with 108 strikeouts over his last 80 innings dating back to June 1. A road start against the White Sox comes next.

Melky Cabrera departed Sunday's game against the Royals with a bruised left foot.

Cabrera initially stayed in the game after fouling a ball off the foot but was eventually removed. It's unclear whether he'll undergo any additional testing or if he can safely be called day-to-day.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Dodgers are showing "strong interest" in Yu Darvish.

He cautions, however, that multiple other clubs are displaying strong interest, as well, and trade talks remain in the "early stages." The Cubs are one of the other teams known to have interest in the impending free agent. The Rangers haven't decided yet whether they'll be buyers or sellers at the deadline, but if they choose the latter Darvish will obviously be a major trade chip.

Johnny Cueto (blisters) has resumed playing light catch.

Cueto is a little over a week removed from being placed on the disabled list due to multiple blisters on his pitching hand. He's doing much better now and it sounds like he should be able to rejoin the Giants' rotation in relatively short order.

Mark Melancon (elbow) threw another bullpen session Sunday.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy was encouraged by how the reliever looked and felt and is hoping Melancon can return in the next couple weeks. The skipper admitted that they've been slow-playing the closer's return because of where they are in the standings. Sam Dyson has been handling the ninth inning in Melancon's absence and has done a nice job.

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill said Sunday that the club has no intention of trading Giancarlo Stanton, Justin Bour, Christian Yelich, J.T. Realmuto, Marcell Ozuna or Dan Straily before the deadline.

Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald writes that the club prefers "to leave those decisions to the team’s next owner." The Marlins have already dealt David Phelps and are likely to trade A.J. Ramos soon, but it appears a decision on whether they deal players under control for multiple seasons won't be made at least until the offseason. It makes sense not only to wait for ownership in place to make these calls, but also because over the winter there would figure to be more bidders involved.

Justin Turner (illness) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Sunday.

Turner is dealing with bronchitis, but he's feeling well enough Sunday after missing Saturday's game. He's at third base and batting third versus Sean Newcomb and the Braves.
