FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Angels are giving left-hander Jo-Jo Reyes his release so that he can sign with the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization.

The Angels signed Reyes to a minor league contract in November. The 28-year-old left-hander posted a 2.67 ERA and 43/13 K/BB ratio over 54 innings with the Pirates' Triple-A affiliate last season. He owns a 6.05 ERA over five seasons in the big leagues.

Mike Trout was reportedly unhurt in an automobile accident following Wednesday's Angels game.

CBS Los Angeles reported that Trout was involved in the crash and that there was one serious injury, but that Trout was not hurt. Trout didn't play Wednesday night in what was labeled a rare routine day off for the MVP candidate.

Twins recalled OF Byron Buxton from Triple-A Rochester.

Buxton was sent down in early August after struggling to the tune of a .193/.247/.315 batting line over 218 plate appearances. The 22-year-old center fielder has consistently crushed minor league pitching and such has been the case on the occasions this season in which he has not been up with the Twins. In 188 at-bats with Triple-A Rochester, the phenom-to-be owns a robust .309/.362/.574 triple-slash. The Twins figure to give him plenty of opportunities in September as they try to transition him to a full-time major league job with an eye toward 2017. The upside is immense here, even if Buxton has yet to really show it on a consistent basis at the big league level.

Aaron Sanchez surrendered just one unearned run in six innings of work as the Blue Jays beat the Orioles 5-3 on Wednesday.

He wasn't dominant, walking three and giving up five hits while punching out just two batters, but it was still an impressive overall line in his return to the major leagues. The win gives Sanchez a sparkling 13-2 record and 2.88 ERA. The Blue Jays are trying their best to limit the 24-year-old ace's innings but he is the best pitcher on a contending team. This was his first action in 11 days as the Jays sent him to High-A Dunedin on August 21 to rest his arm on the bench for a while. Fantasy owners are hoping Toronto throws caution to the wind and lets him stay in the rotation down the stretch.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said that he expects Adam Jones (hamstring) to be back in the lineup on Friday.

Jones has been nursing a left hamstring injury for over a week, but he's making steady progress on the side. Showalter has two more outfield options at his disposal should Jones' leg act up on him again in the near future. Earlier on Wednesday, the team claimed Drew Stubbs off release waivers from the Rangers and traded with the Diamondbacks for Michael Bourn.

Mets acquired RHP Fernando Salas from the Angels for RHP Erik Manoah.

Salas owns an underwhelming 4.47 ERA and 45/19 K/BB ratio in 56 1/3 innings this season, but he had been operating as the Angels' closer for the last few weeks with both Huston Street (knee) and Cam Bedrosian (armpit) on the shelf. The 31-year-old right-hander will move into a setup role in New York. Manoah, 20, was sitting on a 5.37 ERA through 62 innings this year with Low-A Brooklyn.
Aug 31 - 10:38 PM

Corey Kluber struck out 11 batters while yielding three runs in eight innings to lead the Indians to an 8-4 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

He gave up a solo homer to Max Kepler in the third inning and sailed into the eighth inning with a 7-1 lead. He gave up a two-run shot to Brian Dozier before completing that frame and finishing his night. The 2014 Cy Young winner moves to 15-8 with a 3.09 ERA after 27 starts. He has a beautiful 189/46 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 183 2/3 innings.

Mets manager Terry Collins said that Neil Walker will "probably" undergo surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.

The Mets' dark, injury-riddled season continues. Walker was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his back earlier on Wednesday and while the second baseman wanted to play through the injury, it was causing him numbness in his foot and leg. After seeking a second opinion, it was determined that surgery would be the best course of action. Walker will miss the remainder of the 2016 season.

Red Sox infield prospect Yoan Moncada will be promoted to the major leagues on Friday.

Red Sox manager John Farrell hinted that this might be in the works in a chat with the media on Wednesday morning, stating that the 21-year-old would be brought up as "not just a pinch-runner" but to see regular action at third base. Travis Shaw, Aaron Hill, and Brock Holt have been disappointing at the hot corner in Boston and Moncada has slashed .298/.411/.518 with 15 home runs and 45 steals in 105 games this season between High-A Salem and Double-A Portland. The ultra-talented Cuban is looking like a must-own for the stretch run.
Aug 31 - 10:22 PM

Orioles acquired OF Michael Bourn from the Diamondbacks for OF Jason Heinrich.

Bourn's bat isn't particularly live these days: The 33-year-old outfielder owns a .261/.307/.362 triple-slash to pair with three homers, 30 RBI, and 13 steals across 329 at-bats in 2016. Along with Drew Stubbs -- whom the O's picked up following his release from the Rangers -- Bourn will add to the outfield depth in Baltimore, though his fantasy value is next to nonexistent at this juncture, even in deeper AL-only formats.

Ricky Nolasco hurled a dominant four-hit, complete-game shutout against the Reds on Wednesday, striking out seven batters as the Angels won 3-0.

Yes, you read that right. Ricky Nolasco actually did that. He kept the Reds off-balance all night. He didn't walk anybody and finished the game on just 94 pitches -- having faced only 30 batters. He managed to do that despite two errors being made behind him. He picked off a runner and started a double-play on a comebacker. Lest we forget who this is, the excellent game boosted his record to a still-unsightly 5-12 with a 4.95 ERA. This was Nolasco's first win as an Angel and first since July 9th -- three weeks before he was traded by the Twins.

Marcell Ozuna was lifted from Wednesday's game against the Mets due to a sore left wrist.

Ozuna made a diving, tumbling catch in the third inning but tweaked something in his left wrist as he met the ground. Jeff Francoeur replaced him in right field to start the fourth. Ozuna will be reevaluated by team doctors on Thursday. Consider him day-to-day for now.
