Mets and 1B Ike Davis avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.

The exact financial terms aren't available, but ESPN's Adam Rubin reports that the deal is expected to be around $3.125 million. Davis, who bounced back from a slow start last season to hit 32 homers, was arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter. He remains under team control through 2016.

Giancarlo Stanton finished 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Saturday's extra-innings win in San Diego.

Stanton swatted a two-run shot off Miguel Diaz to send the home crowd at Petco Park home with frowns. The slugger is in a groove right now, belting four homers with six RBI over his past three outings while delivering at least one souvenir in each of the contests. Stanton is locked in and making his fantasy owners very happy after a bit of a slow start.

Yasmany Tomas homered twice and drove in three runs as the Diamondbacks administered an 11-5 beatdown of the Dodgers on Saturday.

Tomas hit a pair of solo dongs off Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda, first in the first inning and later in the fifth. The homers gave Tomas four on the season, with 13 RBI to go with them. He's followed up a breakout 2016 season by hitting .295/.328/.607 through the season's first few weeks of action.

Lance Lynn struck out seven while limiting the Brewers to one run over six innings in the Cardinals' 4-1 win Saturday.

Lynn gave up just three hits and walked two, sticking around just long enough to get the win. It was his second in as many starts, and the right-hander has allowed just one run in those two starts. Through four starts overall, Lynn is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 20/8 K/BB ratio. He'll next take on the Reds on Friday.

Elvis Andrus delivered a game-winning, walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Rangers past the Royals 2-1 on Saturday.

Andrus was hitless in three at-bats in the game before coming to the dish in the ninth -- in fact, he was hitless in his last 12 at-bats overall -- against Peter Moylan. The shortstop pulled a breaking ball down the left field line for what was scored as a single but would have been an extra-base hit had Rougned Odor not raced around to score the winning run. Andrus began the year hot but has cooled in recent days, batting .275/.296/.493 in 17 games overall.

Carlos Carrasco tossed eight scoreless innings, striking out eight, in the Indians' 7-0 shutout of the White Sox on Saturday.

A day after Corey Kluber went the distance in a shutout of the Sox, Carrasco doubled down with only a slightly less-dominant performance. The right-hander yielded just three hits, all singles, with one walk over his eight innings of work. He's now 2-1 on the season with a microscopic 1.65 ERA and 0.80 WHIP through four starts. Carrasco will look to continue his dominance Friday against the Mariners.

Phillies GM Matt Klentak expects to be without Howie Kendrick (oblique) for 2-3 weeks.

Kendrick was placed on the disabled list with a Grade 1 oblique strain earlier this week. Aaron Altherr will continue to hold down the fort in left field, though the Phillies added some depth Saturday by acquiring utility man Ty Kelly in a trade with Toronto.

Updating an earlier report, Denard Span suffered a minor shoulder sprain in Saturday's game against the Rockies.

He's going for X-rays. Span made a nice catch to rob Charlie Blackmon of extra bases during the third inning but banged his shoulder against the outfield wall. Manager Bruce Bochy is hoping the injury is minor but has already announced that Span won't play on Sunday. Gorkys Hernandez should man center field in his absence.

Ronald Torreyes went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 11-5 bashing of the Pirates.

He had three singles and a sixth-inning double that plated two runs. He rode home on a three-run blast off the bat of pinch-hitter Chris Carter in the eighth inning. Torreyes has been getting everyday playing time at shortstop in the absence of Didi Gregorius and has made the most of his opportunity. He is batting .296/.296/.444 with one homer and 13 RBI in 54 plate appearances.

George Springer left Saturday's game against the Rays with left hamstring discomfort.

Springer pulled up running to first base in the fifth inning and didn't come out for the following frame. Nori Aoki replaced him in right field. Springer went 0-for-2 with a walk before exiting. The Astros are calling him day-to-day. Springer's steak of 205 consecutive games played will likely come to an end on Sunday. It had been the longest active streak in the major leagues.

Blue Jays placed SS Troy Tulowitzki on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Tulowitzki joins Josh Donaldson (calf), Aaron Sanchez (finger) and J.A. Happ (elbow) among the Blue Jays' walking wounded. He suffered the injury Friday while running to third base on a wild pitch by Cam Bedrosian. Manager John Gibbons said the new 10-day rule was "definitely a factor" in placing Tulowitzki on the DL. Utility man Ryan Goins is starting in his place Saturday against the Angels.

Angels placed RHP Cam Bedrosian on the 10-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

We're not sure when Bedrosian got hurt, but it must have happened in Friday night's loss to Toronto. With Huston Street (shoulder), Andrew Bailey (shoulder) and Bedrosian on the DL, the Angels are now without their three best relievers If you're looking for a speculative add, right-hander Blake Parker might be your best option. Either way, this is not a situation fantasy owners should be targeting.
