Neftali Feliz (elbow) is throwing off flat ground at a distance of 60 feet.

Feliz is slowly building up his workload following Tommy John surgery last August. He hasn't encountered any setbacks, but it's unlikely he'll rejoin the Rangers until late in the season.

Nelson Cruz went 3-for-5 with two RBI as the Rangers beat the A's 9-4 on Wednesday.

The outfielder recorded three singles on the evening, raising his line to .270/.333/.527 in 69 games. The runs batted in gave him 50 on the season to go with 18 home runs. He's having a terrific season in his walk year, and it could lead to a big payday come winter.
Jun 20 - 12:53 AM

Brandon Phillips hit a walk-off single in the 13th inning to give the Reds a 2-1 win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Phillips has struggled of late, as he's just 12-for-59 (.203) in June, and he was struggling again on Wednesday before the single in the 13th inning. The slump has dropped his average on the season to .272. Maybe Wednesday's heroics will ignite his bat once again.
Jun 20 - 12:21 AM

Rickie Weeks hit a game-winning two-run homer in the eighth inning as the Brewers beat the Astros 3-1 on Wednesday.

It was Weeks' first game hitting leadoff this year, and he responded by going 2-for-4 with the winning home run. The homer was his sixth of the season, and while he's taken a while to get going his average has been slowly rising since the middle of May. He's always a slow starter, so expect him to continue to get better as the season rolls on.
Jun 19 - 11:55 PM

Wil Myers hit a two-run double, his first two runs batted in, to help the Rays beat the Red Sox 6-2 on Wednesday.

The hit, which came in the seventh inning, was Myers' only hit in five at-bats on the night, but it was an important one in his history. Through three games with the club he has just two hits, but expect Myers to start showing more of why the Rays traded for him as he continues to get at-bats.
Jun 19 - 11:26 PM

Justin Morneau finally hit his third home run of the year Wednesday in the Twins' 7-4 win over the White Sox.

Morneau hadn't gone deep since April 28. He owns a decent .289 batting average in 64 games this season and has been effective with runners in scoring position, but the power has completely vanished. It may be a struggle for him to reach a double-digit home run total.
Jun 19 - 11:24 PM

Yadier Molina hit a two-run homer in the Cardinals' 4-1 defeat of the Cubs on Wednesday in St. Louis.

The two-run shot was Yadi's only hit of the night but it was a big one, breaking a 1-1 tie and putting the Cardinals ahead for good. Molina, the best defensive catcher in baseball, is now batting .365/.406/.514 with five homers and 41 RBI. He might be the early NL MVP.
Jun 19 - 11:18 PM

Adam Lind hit a three-run homer in the Blue Jays' 5-2 victory over the Rockies on Wednesday.

The hit was Lind's only one in four at-bats, but it was enough to give the Jays the win. Lind is quietly putting together a terrific season, as the homer was his ninth to go with a .340/.406/.555 batting line.
Jun 19 - 11:06 PM

Gio Gonzalez struck out 11 and permitted just two runs and two hits over seven innings in Wednesday's 6-2 extra-innings win over the Phillies.

Gonzalez yielded hits to Ben Revere (single) and Michael Young (homer) to start off the game, and that was it. He was in line for a loss but wound up with a no-decision after his teammates rallied in the ninth and won it in the 11th. Gonzalez boasts a 2.26 ERA since the beginning of May and has struck out 93 over 91 2/3 frames this season. He'll take on the D'Backs at home next.
Jun 19 - 11:02 PM

Ian Desmond's 11th-inning grand slam propelled the Nationals to a comeback win over the Phillies Wednesday.

Desmond was hitless with three strikeouts in his first four plate appearances, but he came through in extras, depositing a Michael Stutes hanger into the left-center field seats. The shortstop is now hitting .280 with 10 homers and 38 RBI on the season.
Jun 19 - 10:48 PM

Kris Medlen allowed three runs -- one earned -- in seven innings as the Braves topped the Mets 5-3 on Wednesday.

Medlen bounced back from a loss his last time out to limit the Mets to just six hits in his seven innings. He also struck out seven while walking none, continuing a trend in his last six starts in which he has a 33:3 K:BB ratio. His performance of late is much more like the Medlen we saw in 2012 than it was earlier in the season. His next start is scheduled against the Royals in KC on Tuesday.
Jun 19 - 10:36 PM

Michael Brantley had a pair of solo homers and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Royals.

Brantley's solo shot to lead off the fifth was the Tribe's first hit of the game, and his solo blast in the eighth extended their lead to 6-2. The outfielder entered the night hitting just .173/.241/.192 with one extra-base hit in June, so it was a much-needed breakout.
