Red Sox signed LHP Sean Henn to a minor league contract.

Henn spent last season in the Korean Baseball Organization and hasn't appeared in the majors since 2009. He's merely organizational depth.

Enrique Hernandez popped two of the Dodgers’ seven home runs in Sunday’s extra-innings win over the Mets.

Hernandez went deep off of Jerry Blevins to lead off the game and Max Muncy followed with a dinger of his own. He then homered off of Chris Beck in the sixth inning and also added a third run scored after singling in the eighth. Hernandez now has a career-high 12 longballs this season over 69 games after he went deep 11 times across 140 contests last year.

Jose Berrios struck out 12 hitters in seven shutout innings in a 2-0 victory over the Rangers on Sunday.

It was a dominant effort from Berrios against the Texas lineup, as he scattered three hits and walked two hitters to go with the aforementioned 12 punchouts. The right-hander has now allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his past eight starts, and his ERA has lowered to 3.15 in the process. Simply put, there aren’t many who have more talent than Berrios, and he’s shown as much for most of the 2018 season. He’ll look to continue his strong run on Saturday when he squares off against the Cubs.
Jun 24 - 4:48 PM

Ozzie Albies went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 7-3 victory over the Orioles on Sunday.

Albies now has seven hits in his last two games, and it appears his struggles are starting to come to a close. The 21-year-old infielder now has a .264 average on the season, and while he's not showing the same power stroke he did to start the year, he still has his slugging percentage of .492. The future is exceptionally bright for Albies, but he can still help your squad in 2018 as well.
Jun 24 - 4:36 PM

Chris Sale punched out 13 batters across seven shutout frames in the Red Sox' 5-0 victory over the Mariners on Sunday.

Sale got a whopping 26 swinging strikes in this one as he whiffed double-digit batters for the second start in a row and sixth time in 17 outings this season. The Mariners managed just four hits and one walk against the southpaw and Sale needed just 93 pitches to cruise through his seven innings even with all of the strikeouts. Sale has a big matchup in Yankee Stadium waiting for him his next time out.
Jun 24 - 4:20 PM

Edwin Encarnacion went 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBI in a 12-2 rout of the Tigers on Sunday.

Encarnacion's grand slam put the finishing touches on the blowout win; coming off of Artie Lewicki with one out in the eighth inning. He also drove in a run on an RBI double in the first, so he's up to 53 on the season. After a relatively slow start to the year, Encarnacion now has his OPS up to .794, and he's on pace to drive in 113 runs and hit 38 homers in 2018. Expect his .238 average and .311 on-base percentage to go up in the second half, as well.
Jun 24 - 4:17 PM

Jesse Winker hit a pinch-hit three-run homer to help the Reds to an 8-6 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

The homer came off a completely ineffective Pedro Strop, and it's the fifth homer on the 2018 season for Winker. The left-handed hitting outfielder has seen his share of ups-and-downs, but that's to be expected from a player in his first full MLB season. His .263 average and .381 slugging percentage leave a lot to be desired, but the .378 on-base percentage speak to his offensive potential. Don't be surprised if Winker is much better in the second-half of the year.
Jun 24 - 4:04 PM

Travis Shaw departing Sunday's game against the Cardinals after appearing to aggravate his right wrist injury.

Shaw grimaced after fouling a ball off in the third inning and eventually walked into the clubhouse after a conversation with Brewers manager Craig Counsell and the trainer. He's dealt with a sore wrist for about a week and might be in need of a disabled list stint at this point. The club should have more on his status after the game.
Jun 24 - 3:23 PM

X-rays on Brandon Nimmo's right hand came back negative.

Nimmo had to exit Sunday's game after being plunked by three pitches (although only two of them officially counted), but he managed to escape with merely a bruised right pinkie. Consider him day-to-day.
Jun 24 - 3:13 PM

Garrett Richards (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Monday.

If that goes well, he'll throw off a mound again Wednesday and then hopefully make a rehab start next weekend. If Richards can progress without any setbacks, he should be in line to rejoin the Angels' rotation sometime next week.
Jun 24 - 1:57 PM

Tyler Skaggs (hamstring) has officially been cleared to start Monday against the Royals.

Skaggs had to be scratched from his last outing with a tight right hamstring, but he threw a bullpen session Saturday without issue and is now ready to go. There's a bit of risk of re-injury with a hamstring, but a favorable matchup against the Royals makes Skaggs a must-start.
Jun 24 - 1:33 PM

Tommy Pham is absent from the Cardinals' lineup Sunday due to the flu.

Pham has evidently been under the weather for a few days, which could at least partly explain four straight hitless contests that included a golden sombrero Saturday. Harrison Bader will cover center field.
