Hector Ambriz (ankle) is scheduled to throw live batting practice this week.

Ambriz was on a restricted throwing program the last two weeks with an ankle injury. He's behind the rest of the Astros' pitchers but should have no trouble being ready for Opening Day.

Yasiel Puig hit a three-run home run en route to a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

With two runners on, Puig deposited an 88 mph cutter from Josh Collmenter into the seats in left-center field. It was his only hit of the game, as the Dodgers mustered just five against the right-hander despite going home victorious. Amid plenty of controversy, Puig is batting .241/.349/.426 with two homers thus far.

Josh Donaldson went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the Athletics' 4-1 win over the Astros on Sunday.

Donaldson hit a two-run blast, his fourth home run of the season, in the first inning. He followed with two doubles in his next three at-bats, including an RBI double in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old scuffled to start the year, but he's proving that his breakout 2013 season was no fluke with his recent hitting.
Apr 20 - 8:13 PM

Marcus Semien went 4-for-6 with four RBI as the White Sox crushed the Rangers 16-2 on Sunday.

Semien had four of the Sox' 18 hits and knocked in four of the team's 16 runs as they pounded Robbie Ross and the Rangers bullpen. Semien's big damage came on a bases-loaded triple in the sixth inning, his first triple of the year. Semien is talented but hasn't hit for a high average thus far, and his at-bats could be cut into when Gordon Beckham returns.
Apr 20 - 7:49 PM

Carlos Gonzalez was removed from Sunday's contest against the Phillies due to left knee tendinitis.

Gonzalez, who has been no stranger to knee injuries in the past, is considered day-to-day. Fantasy owners should monitor this situation closely and make sure to have another outfielder available in the event that CarGo misses a few games to begin the week.
Apr 20 - 7:41 PM

Zack Cozart went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Reds topped the Cubs 8-2 on Sunday.

Cozart hit his first home run of the year, a two-run shot, off Cubs reliever Jose Veras in a three-run seventh inning. He previously swatted an RBI double in the fourth inning, coming around to score on a Homer Bailey single. He's one of the worst-hitting everyday players in baseball, but Cozart still has enough pop to be dangerous on a given day.
Apr 20 - 7:20 PM

Carlos Beltran went 2-for-6 with two RBI in the Yankees' 5-1, 12-inning victory over the Rays on Sunday.

Dean Anna plated the winning run with a bases-loaded walk, but Beltran put the cherry on top with a two-run single immediately after. The single gives him 11 RBI on the season, and Beltran's .561 slugging percentage is sixth in the American League.
Apr 20 - 7:01 PM

Khris Davis' 14th-inning home run gave the Brewers a 3-2 win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Davis had three hits on the day, but none were bigger than his solo shot off Jeanmar Gomez. The home run was Davis' first of the season after smacking 11 in 136 at-bats last season, but his power is undoubted.
Apr 20 - 6:33 PM

David Wright went 4-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in the Mets' 4-3, 14-inning win over the Braves on Sunday.

All four hits were singles, as the Mets didn't register an extra-base hit in the marathon win. He's got an 11-game hitting streak and is 12-for-24 (.500) in recent days. The four-hit day raised his season average to .316.
Apr 20 - 6:18 PM

Trevor Plouffe went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Twins' 8-3 win over the Royals on Sunday.

Plouffe accounted for eight total bases on the day, doubling twice, walking and also legging out his first triple of the year. Plouffe also scored twice in the game. The third baseman has cooled down slightly since his red hot start to the season, but he's still hitting .313/.420/.493 for the year.
Apr 20 - 5:49 PM

Stephen Strasburg yielded just two runs in six innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

It was a nice rebound start for the Washington ace, who was hammered for six runs over four innings last week against a lowly Marlins team. Strasburg struck out nine Cardinals hitters on Sunday while issuing just one walk. He was left with a no-decision because the Nationals offense didn't grab the lead until the bottom of the ninth inning, when Denard Span hit a walkoff RBI sac fly. Strasburg will try to stay hot in his next outing at home against the Padres.
Apr 20 - 5:03 PM

Rick Porcello tossed seven innings of one-run ball in the Tigers' 2-1 win over the Angels on Sunday.

It was a promising bounceback effort from Porcello, who was tagged for five runs on 10 hits last Friday against a weak Padres team. He held a dangerous Anaheim offense to five hits on Sunday afternoon in Detroit while striking out four and issuing just one walk. Porcello will carry a 2-1 record, 3.15 ERA, and 1.05 WHIP into his next scheduled start against the Twins at Target Field.
