Josh Kinney said Tuesday that his stress reaction is in his left shoulder.

It was previously reported that Kinney was dealing with a stress reaction in his rib cage. There's no timetable for his return, but the good news is that it's not in his throwing shoulder.

Ryon Healy slugged a solo home run and a two-run shot in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Healy took Ubaldo Jimenez deep with an opposite-field solo shot in the first inning and homered off the righty again in the fifth with a two-run blast to left. He also drew a walk on the night. Healy has now put together a nine-game hit streak, although these were his first two dingers during that stretch.

Jason Kipnis was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox with hamstring tightness.

It's an injury he's been trying to play through for a while. Kipnis has hit well lately for the first-place Tribe, but it's looking like he could need another extended break. Yandy Diaz took over in the DH spot on Tuesday night. Jose Ramirez got the start at second base.

Hunter Pence was scratched from the Giants' lineup Tuesday due to a tight left hamstring.

It's a day-to-day thing for now, but a DL stint can't be ruled out given Pence's recent history with hamstring injuries. Gorkys Hernandez will start in right field and bat eighth Tuesday versus Brewers right-hander Matt Garza. Kelby Tomlinson is hitting second.

Carlos Correa (thumb) is on track to begin a minor league rehab assignment Thursday with Double-A Corpus Christi.

Correa took on-field batting practice Tuesday without issue and he'll go through a full pregame workout on Wednesday before likely meeting up with the Astros' Double-A team the following day. The young shortstop expects to be ready to return to Houston's active roster after 20-30 at-bats in the minors. He's been on the disabled list since mid-July because of a torn ligament in his left thumb.

Giancarlo Stanton clubbed his 46th home run of the season as the Marlins defeated the Phillies 12-8 in the first half of Monday's split doubleheader.

Stanton roped an RBI double in the top of the fifth inning to put Miami up 3-2 and then contributed a solo blast to the Marlins' six-run outburst in the top of the seventh. He finished the early game 2-for-5 and will bat second for the Fish in the nightcap.
Aug 22 - 7:34 PM

Dodgers placed 1B Cody Bellinger on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 20, with a sprained right ankle.

Bellinger suffered the ankle injury on Saturday in Detroit and the first-place Dodgers have wisely decided to give the 22-year-old rising star an extended breather. Bellinger, the heavy favorite for NL Rookie of the Year, is sitting on a .968 OPS and 34 home runs through his first 101 major league games. He should be ready for activation when first eligible at the end of August.
Aug 22 - 6:47 PM

Rangers placed INF/OF Joey Gallo on the 7-day concussion disabled list.

Gallo suffered a concussion and a nasal fracture when he collided with teammate Matt Bush on Sunday afternoon. It sounds like the Rangers believe he will be ready for activation when first eligible on August 29. Phil Gosselin has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding roster move.

Danny Salazar felt stiffness in his right elbow while throwing a side session Tuesday.

That explains why the Indians placed him on the disabled list Tuesday afternoon. Salazar is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday night and may be in danger of missing the remainder of the 2017 regular season. He had been pitching well since returning to the Indians' rotation in late July, but the 27-year-old right-hander got lit up for six earned runs on 12 hits Sunday in a loss to the Royals.
Aug 22 - 5:19 PM

Dodgers placed LHP Alex Wood on the 10-day disabled list with SC joint inflammation his left shoulder.

Wood missed time earlier this year with the same issue, but he said he plans to return in 10 days during the Dodgers' early-September series against the Padres. The left-hander stands 14-1 with a 2.41 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 127/30 K/BB ratio in 123 1/3 innings this season.
Aug 22 - 4:56 PM

Marcus Semien (wrist) is not in the Athletics' starting lineup on Tuesday night against the Orioles.

Semien was lifted from Monday's series opener in Baltimore after irritating the scar tissue in his surgically-repaired right wrist, but the discomfort shouldn't keep him out long. Chad Pinder will start at shortstop and bat seventh Tuesday versus O's right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Even without Semien in the lineup, the A's are still one of the sneakier potential GPP stacks of the night. Semien's absence allows them to slot four left-handed bats into the top six of the order, something that should bode well for them given Ubaldo Jimenez's splits. Jimenez has allowed a whopping 2.78 HR/9 rate (1.23 vs. RHBs) to lefties, and this A's lineup does possess some nice pop against RHP. Focus on the lefties in this lineup, most of which are available at cheap price tags.
Aug 22 - 4:29 PM

Noah Syndergaard (lat) is scheduled to throw batting practice on Wednesday.

It'll be his first time facing live hitters since he suffered a torn lat muscle in late April. Syndergaard appears on track to rejoin the Mets sometime in September, though there's no exact timetable at this point and he figures to be handled with care. New York is 15 games under the .500 mark here on August 22.
