Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports that Clayton Kershaw's agent, Casey Close, was at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, but a new deal with the Dodgers doesn't appear imminent.

While Kershaw's representatives were discussing a contract extension with the Dodgers leading up to Opening Day, his presence isn't necessarily indicative of progress. It's worth noting that he also met with another one of his clients, Zack Greinke on Tuesday. Kershaw previously said that he didn't negotiations to cross over into the regular season, but it's not clear if he has changed his stance. The 24-year-old southpaw is under team control though 2014 and could soon become baseball's first $200 million pitcher.

Charlie Morton gave up four runs over seven innings and struck out a career-high 12 batters in Friday’s 9-4 victory over the Athletics.

Khris Davis proved to be his nemesis on Friday, slugging a three-run homer in the first inning and a solo shot in the third, but otherwise Morton managed to keep the A’s in check. While the veteran right-hander hit a couple of batters, he only gave up five hits and didn’t walk anyone. This was his longest outing since August 2, 2015. Morton’s velocity uptick made him an interesting name to follow coming out of spring training, but he hasn’t done much to grab the attention of fantasy owners until now. He’ll try to build off this one when he bring a 4.50 ERA into a start against the Rangers next week.
Apr 29 - 1:27 AM

Freddie Freeman powered the Braves to a 10-8 victory over the Brewers on Friday with a two-run homer off Neftali Feliz in the top of the ninth.

The Braves were down 8-4 after six innings before staging a comeback against the Brewers’ bullpen. Freeman was 0-for-4 before his go-ahead blast in the ninth. The 27-year-old already has eight home runs this season, though he has just 12 RBI to show for it. He’s batting .368/.478/.776 with just as many walks (16) as strikeouts (16) so far.
Apr 29 - 12:59 AM

Matt Holliday slugged a walk-off three-run homer in Friday’s 14-11 victory over the Yankees.

The Yankees actually trailed 9-1 at one point in this one, but they chipped away before Starlin Castro tied things in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run homer off Brad Brach. Jayson Aquino walked back-to-back batters to begin the bottom of the 10th before Holliday cashed in with a game-winning blast to center field. It was his third career walk-off homer. The 37-year-old has been an on-base machine for his new team, batting .263/.411/.474 with three homers and 13 RBI through 19 games.
Apr 28 - 11:37 PM

Aaron Judge went 2-for-3 with two homers, three RBI, and a walk in Friday's extra-inning win over the Orioles.

Judge slugged a solo homer in the fifth inning before hitting an absolute laser of a two-run shot to center field in the sixth. It was the hardest-hit home run of the Statcast era, checking in at 119.4 mph. Judge struggled miserably during his first stint in the majors last year, but he has quickly turned the page by amassing nine homers and 18 RBI through 20 games this season to go along with a 1.081 OPS.
Apr 28 - 11:34 PM

Adam Eaton was forced to leave Friday's game against the Mets in the night inning due to an apparent leg injury.

Eaton hustled to beat out an infield single in the ninth inning but immediately collapsed after reaching the first base bag and had to be carried off of the field. He appeared to roll his left ankle on the base as he ran through. He'll undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the full extent of the injury. Michael Taylor could see increased action in the outfield if Eaton is forced to miss any significant time with this injury. Look for an update on his status from the Nationals on Saturday.
Apr 28 - 11:24 PM

Jacob deGrom yielded three runs over seven innings and struck out 12 in a 7-5 victory over the Nationals on Friday.

All three runs scored in the second inning, including a solo homer from Ryan Zimmerman and a two-run shot off the bat of Matt Wieters. He bounced back in dominant fashion from there and the Mets battled back to put him in position for his first win of the season. DeGrom has now reached double-digit strikeouts for the third straight start. He’s the first Mets pitcher to do that since David Cone in 1992. DeGrom will carry a 2.84 ERA into a start against the Braves next week on the road.
Apr 28 - 10:53 PM

Ryan Zimmerman’s resurgence continued on Friday, as he socked two homers and drove in three runs against the Mets.

Zimmerman connected for a solo homer off Jacob deGrom in the second inning before adding a two-run blast off Addison Reed in the eighth. He’s now second in the majors with 10 homers and owns a monster .392/.442/.861 batting line. It has been a remarkable turnaround for the 32-year-old, who wasn’t drafted in most fantasy leagues this spring.
Apr 28 - 10:51 PM

Logan Morrison blasted a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning on Friday, powering the Rays to a 7-4 victory over the Blue Jays.

The Rays entered the eighth inning trailing 3-1 before their bats awoke. Corey Dickerson and Evan Longoria each swatted solo homers to tie the game before Morrison crushed a Dominic Leone offering over the center field wall for the go-ahead blast. He finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .243/.341/.473 with five long balls and 14 RBI on the season.
Apr 28 - 10:27 PM

The Giants confirmed Friday that Madison Bumgarner is dealing with a Grad 2 shoulder sprain.

Tentatively, the Giants expect their star southpaw to return around the All-Star break. While the diagnosis hasn't changed, at least there now appears to be a clear timetable for his return to the Giants' rotation and fantasy owners can expect to have him back for the second half of the season, barring any setbacks.
Apr 28 - 8:46 PM

Junior Guerra (calf) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions.

He's slated to throw a couple live batting practice sessions beginning early next week and then be cleared to begin a rehab assignment if all goes well. Guerra is working his way back from a strained right calf that he suffered in his first start of the season. He hopes to rejoin the Brewers' rotation before the end of May.
Apr 28 - 5:55 PM

Eric Thames (hamstring) is back in the Brewers' lineup Friday.

Thames departed Wednesday's game with some left hamstring tightness, but it was a precautionary exit and he's ready to go. He's at first base and batting second against Bartolo Colon and the Braves.
