Josh Reddick exited Sunday's game with an apparent right arm injury after crashing into the wall while trying to make a catch in foul territory.

Reddick was cradling his arm while be escorted off the field. The A's should provide an update on his status shortly, but it didn't look good. Seth Smith moved from left to right field to take his spot, while Yoenis Cespedes entered the game in left.

Josh Tomlin held the White Sox to two runs over eight innings in a 6-2 win Tuesday, earning his seventh straight victory.

Tomlin allowed five hits and a walk while striking out six on the evening. He's now tied for second in the American League in wins, and his 0.98 WHIP is second to only Chris Sale -- the pitcher he defeated on Tuesday -- among qualified AL pitchers. Through eight starts, the 31-year-old is a perfect 7-0 with a 3.35 ERA. Tomlin will try to stay undefeated Monday against the Rangers.

David Ortiz went 2-for-4 with four RBI in Tuesday's win over the Rockies.

Ortiz plated a pair of runs with a single in the first inning and added two more RBI with a double in the fourth. Big Papi now has 41 RBI on the season, which leads all of baseball, and he's put up a blistering .333/.413/.686 batting line. Have we mentioned that Ortiz is 40 years old?

Jason Hammel held the Cardinals to one run across 7 1/3 superb innings in Tuesday's 12-3 blowout victory.

A case could be made that he shouldn't have given up any runs, as the Cards' lone tally off of Hammel came in the eighth inning after Jorge Soler missed a catchable ball that turned into a double. It was the first time since June of last season that Hammel surpassed seven innings. He'll bring a nifty 2.17 ERA into next week's outing against the Dodgers.

Jorge Soler belted a two-run homer and recorded three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.

Soler drew a bases-loaded walk in the first inning and smacked a two-run shot to dead center field in the fifth to knock starter Michael Wacha out of the game. He also added another walk and an infield single. Soler looks like he could be turning the corner slowly but surely, picking up seven hits -- including a pair of homers -- over his last 21 at-bats.

Stephen Strasburg whiffed 11 batters while allowing two runs across 6 2/3 frames in Tuesday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Strasburg had six strikeouts and a perfect game going when Asdrubal Cabrera took him deep with one out in the fourth inning. He allowed one more run and the bullpen stranded a couple runners for him in the seventh, but it was another terrific performance for Strasburg. His ERA sits at 2.79 and he boasts an 86/18 K/BB ratio across 67 2/3 innings to go along with an 8-0 record. Strasburg will try to keep it going on Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Jean Segura was sent to a local hospital in Pittsburgh after showing concussion symptoms.

Segura got struck in the side of his batting helmet Tuesday by a 96 mph fastball from Pirates reliever Arquimedes Caminero. Nick Ahmed also took a Caminero pitch to the head an inning later but came away mostly unscathed. There should be an update on Segura at some point Wednesday. A stint on the 7-day concussion disabled list may be in the cards.

Matt Harvey added another chapter to his nightmarish season Tuesday, yielding five runs over five frames in a loss to the Nationals.

Harvey looked better early on, firing three scoreless frames. However, the Nationals tagged him with back-to-back home runs in the fourth and then three more runs in the fifth, punctuated by a Daniel Murphy two-run shot into the upper deck. Harvey has now surrendered at least five runs in three straight outings and his ERA has ballooned to 6.08. Mets manager Terry Collins indicated after the game that Harvey probably wouldn't make his next start, although it's unclear at this point what exactly the plan is.

Ryan Braun hit his eighth home run of the season as the Brewers edged the Braves 2-1 on Tuesday.

Braun took Julio Teheran deep in the fourth inning for a solo bomb, one of just three hits on the night against the Braves starter. It was his first home run since returning to the lineup after missing nearly a week with a sore back. When he's been in the lineup, Braun has been an offensive beast, batting .357/.419/.579 with eight homers, 29 RBI and 22 runs scored overall.

Carson Smith underwent Tommy John reconstructive surgery on his right elbow Tuesday.

The procedure was deemed a success, per Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald. Smith will obviously miss the remainder of the 2016 season, and he could remain sidelined through the first half of 2017. The young right-hander was acquired from the Mariners this past winter as part of the Wade Miley trade. He'll have to sit on his shiny 2.00 career major league ERA for the next 13-15 months.
May 24 - 10:28 PM

Carlos Beltran launched a solo homer, drove in two runs and scored a pair of runs in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays.

R.A. Dickey left a knuckleball up in the fourth inning, and Beltran clubbed it into the right field seats. It was the veteran's 10th dinger of the season and fifth over his last 15 games. Beltran has collected 10 hits and 10 RBI over his last five contests.
May 24 - 10:24 PM

Julio Teheran struck out a career-best 12 batters over seven innings Tuesday, allowing one run, but still didn't factor in the decision against the Brewers.

Teheran gave up just three hits, one being a Ryan Braun solo homer, without walking a batter, but the Braves weren't able to muster much offense against Brewers starter Jimmy Nelson either. It's been that kind of year for Teheran, who is just 1-4 but owns a stellar 2.57 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 59/17 K/BB ratio over 63 innings of work. The 25-year-old will next take on the Marlins on Sunday.
